like evrything here at japan, a wedding is simple,but complicated (bride changes clothes about 4 time) see what it is like to get married by shinto tradition.

THE SHINTO PART


the wedding start with procession to preist, and then to jinja(神社) 
there be 2 miko, sometime a a lower preist carrying umbrella over couple and middle preist infront of miko and the high presit in front.the bride walk by close female relative

the preist(high) the recive couple, they now will start marrigae.(only close relative wiill be at marrigae)

now the preist will either take the couple inside the jinja, or someitmes the actual offering part outside, so when preist say prayer outside it look this:

the priest offer sakiki tree twig to kami(see top picture), and then couple can recite vow.

now is time to start san-san kudo (三々九度) the couple will drink nine cup of sake(sah-kay stare ) and then the miko will pour the in-law sake and the will drink.

and now couple can end with giving each other ring. the shinto part is over.

THE RECPETION

this si the fun (where your friends, distant relative, bosses etc. will be). the birde changes to uchikake (see pic) or western wedding dress or uchikake the western dress. the groom choose to change to western style or no. now people talk, take picture, eat and such. the bride and groom may thank everyone for coming, they take oshugi (money gifts, this is much more common in india, where the couple can up to 4 million rupees! ifonly i get that many en, marry my boyfriend now) and normal gift.

now the bride change to special wedding suit (usually same design as other dress) and cut cake (sometimes the cake is fake) with a katana (sword -_-')

ah, good you are japanese and your parents have had a traditonal marrigae (some people are get marry in "church")
