Shimah was antsy! She was going on an adventure with her new friend, Kianga. As she had promised to her father, she would go to her mother and tell her that she would be heading out soon. She neared her family's den and called out to her mother, "Mommy?"

A voice woke Na'ilah up from her nap before she yawned. Stretching her paws slightly, she got to her paws and replied, "Yes Shimah?" Her daughter had called her, now what was up? Making her way to the den's entrance, she spotted her little green daughter and felt a smile grow on her muzzle, "Is there something you want to talk about?"

Shimah saw her mom approaching and looked at her. She saw her mother's smile and felt relieved to see it. She nodded at her mother's words, "Actually...yes Mommy, I have something to talk to you about. Daddy told me I should tell you. And," She paused, "I'm going to go explore with my new friend, Kianga."

Settling herself down, Na'ilah listened to her daughter. "You want to go explore, we'll you don't need to ask me." Her lime green eyes took a closer look at her daughter and then caught the look. Her daughter want to go explore outside of the Pridelands. A sigh escaped as she knew this day would come, her mate had been telling her this for a while now. Well, there was really nothing she could do about it. "You want to leave, Shimah?"

Shimah nodded her head, "Yea, Kianga asked Daddy if she could take me to explore outside of the Pridelands. He said it was alright," She paused looking at her mom, "But, I needed to ask you first." She flicked her tail slightly, nervous that her mother would say no.

Taking a good look at her daughter, Na'ilah could see that she really wanted to go exploring. Her mate and her had talked about this not too long ago, and it seemed like this day would never come. She let out a sigh and licked the top of Shimah's head, "Shimah, if you really want to go explore, then I won't be the one that stops you. But I want to warn you that there are bad lions out there that could take advantage of you. Be aware and be alert to your surroundings. And whatever you do, stay away from the desert."

Shimah smiled happily at her mother. "Oh Mommy! Thank you so much!" She nuzzled her mother and purred softly, "Don't worry, I'll be a good cub for Kianga and stay out of trouble." The desert, she'd have to remember that. Giving her mother one last nuzzle, she headed out towards where she had left Kianga, and now, they could start their adventure.
