I'm really opening this thread up for a sobering subject- that is; what should the NCS be put to use for? I want to open a dialogue with everybody who habits this place, I will, after a few postings responds to this in kind and post my own ideas.
Mainly I'll set up some guidlines first:
What do you think the NCS can accomplish on Gaia?
What do you think the NCS could accomplish in real life?
What should the NCS' policies be about other leftist forums and RL political parties?
Do you think the NCS could make use of a web forum specifically for RL activism- so as to create an atmosphere that isn't quite as childish as Gaia?

Quote: What do you think the NCS can accomplish on Gaia? recruitment, nothing much more, except providing a disparet group of individuals, internationaly, a common area to learn and debate on a day to day basis. Quote: What do you think the NCS could accomplish in real life? unless there were NCS meetings or something, i dont think it could do anything. all it is really able to do, is provide an environment for discussion. it's effects in real life will be based on how people learn from here. i see this guild as a kind of international discussion circle(however much i wish to change it) for those who have mutual likes, in this case, anime and such. Quote: What should the NCS' policies be about other leftist forums and RL political parties? i think, outside the forum, that is, in ED, this guild should have a unified policy, but that this policy should be up for debate in the NCS. its position toward rl groupings, should also be dealt with in the same way: outside the ncs complete unity is shown, but debate and arguments over policies should be allowed in full. Quote: Do you think the NCS could make use of a web forum specifically for RL activism- so as to create an atmosphere that isn't quite as childish as Gaia? it could, but it would be pointless to do so. all i would recomend is posting links to such groups in a sticky or something. one must apreciate the nature of the site we are in. if one wants to leave, or to work in a different environment, they are free to do so and provide links. i think this is just your way of turning the ncs into an appendage of hammer and fire. also, the childish atmosphere is due to the prevalence of children, we do not wish to go somewhere where there are no children, we want to "get 'em while they're young" so to speak.

Quote: recruitment, nothing much more, except providing a disparet group of individuals, internationaly, a common area to learn and debate on a day to day basis. Yeah, that is essentially how I saw it. Quote: unless there were NCS meetings or something, i dont think it could do anything. all it is really able to do, is provide an environment for discussion. it's effects in real life will be based on how people learn from here. i see this guild as a kind of international discussion circle(however much i wish to change it) for those who have mutual likes, in this case, anime and such. I would still like a more organized method of RL activism, but I suppose anybody can do that on their own perogative- we have links to all the major CPs in the US, Canada, and UK methinks, I should doubt many other people frequent these boards- and if they are from other nations, we'll just add their CP/SPs as time goes on. Quote: they are free to do so and provide links. Ahh learning center/library, not a bad idea. I don't think we ought to totally forsake gaia specifically because people are so young, but I do think it's important that we get people who are younger to deal with them- I feel creepy sometimes pimping out my ideology to 14 (and younger) kids.

I think NCS should have posters and speeches as well as pre written arguments available to print out and use so we can enlighten (not pimp) our beliefs to other people in RL. I do something similar at school. It draws something of a crowd.

This guild large. Large and international. From something like this to survive we need the internet so that one can look back on discussions and take part in them like we couldn't do in real life (sorry comrades, Idon't like spending capital on travel).
Gaia is childish, yes. But it also has an amazing variety of inteligent and creative people that one wouldn't get on a specified party forum. Gaia is a stable, established, and populated place for our guild to work (also I don't like having comitments to many sites).
We shouln't have a monolithic outward policy and debate withen. We'd seem cold and xenophibic and internally weak. We should stay were we are, a collective of individuals all focused on the same goal of a classless utopia.

Gaia is a stable, established, and populated place for our guild to work (also I don't like having comitments to many sites). Well said. I'm one of the ones who never would have even had discussions if it were a specified party forum. Its nice here, to be able to debate and learn from everyone within the NCS, while at the same time being able to interact with people of other beliefs as well outside in ED-P. And on Gaia, there is a large population, so we can get our message out. People see the threads in ED, people see our sigs, and they ask us questions. On Gaia, we can educate, discuss, learn, and expand our beliefs. As far as real life, we are a diverse group, and we are international. So it would be difficult for us to accomplish anything as the NCS, but rather use this as our starting point.

I think NCS can learn people on Gaia about Communism. To let them see we aren't that bad and out to destroy the world(like many people in the ED seem to think).

Hell yeah dude!
Well, in my opinion, history books at school only shows us that communism is bad. Many people seem to think that, but they don't want to look anything up to look it really is bad. I think we just should learn them something 3nodding .
