I think NASCAR should hold a NASCAR event in Canada. Whats everyones opinion on this?

In the past they have raced in Canada I think. Not really sure, and my memory is vague. It would be a good idea, it'll help expand NASCAR's fan base. But before they do race in Canada.....they need to build a race track in NYC!! xd

if they've already raced in mexico, why not race in canada? But if they WERE to build a track in nyc nascar would really benefit from that

Nascar has raced in Canada in one form or another. Richard Petty stared his carreer in the Nextel/Winston Cup series in Toronto in 1958.

I agree that Nascar needs to get into Canada. But, Nascar needs to get into NYC first. Every major sports series has at least one team in NYC, for Nascar to be considered major by some, it needs to race in the big apple. IT would really help the sport, especially if they built a Bristol clone there.

New York already has a road course (Watkins Glen) They need to have a track like Atlanta or Texas. Racing under the NYC sky light at night!

Another track like atlanta would be cool! Atlanta is the best track on the circut...except for maybe daytona...or talladega...BLA!!!

I say make it like Richmond, Bristol, or Darlington.

Racing under the NYC sky light at night! i live about 3 hours away from watkins glen in buffalo...pocono is actually closer to my house though, but as for the new york track i believe they should design it to be a short track that is like a figure 8.. It would have a short tunnel and have fans be able to get close to the action and possibly make it indoors...Kind of like how the seattle dome is...They could make it to be the best track ever made in terms of quality for the fans..If they're gonna make a track in the big apple, they should MAKE A TRACK in the big apple..One that is unlike any other nascar track today

It's true, I read the NNCS has visited canada and Mexico for events in the past. The NNS (nascar national/ or busch series) for the past two years has been racing a points-paying race in Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Mexico. I do not think the Nextel Cup series should have a race there, or an annual points race for that matter. Chibik: They do race in New York, just not NYC. The track is called Watking Glen which is this weekend.

Sounds like it'd give the face of nascar in NY a completely new look. It will only be the second state currently to have more than one NNCS track in it. PS: I drew a track indoors like what you're talking about. A few parts of it came outside of the building, and it was more like 4 figure 8's put together in a sense. The only problem with your figure 8 track is the bridge section might wear out quickly/ often.
