Fresh air was the greatest thing in the world especially to someone who hadn't been getting enough of it. It seemed all Tristan had been doing the past few days was putting thing in boxes and then putting boxes in his car or moving truck and now he was going to have to do all of that in reverse. He remembered why he hated moving.
Tristan had at last got the moving truck unpack and unpacked the vitals, his big screen tv, DVD player, some movies, his laptop and sure some cloths and the living kind of thing. He was taking a break at last, exploring the grounds and walking Hamlet.
The puppy was walking quite a bit a head of his owner, sniffing the ground and other puppy like things.

Though unaware she was copying the thoughts of someone else nearby, Remi was also thinking on how great fresh air was. Recently she'd been taking a lot of walks around the compound. It was her only form of exercise these days. That, and things just seemed to happen when she took walks.
This time she decided to make things even more exciting by bringing Gavin along. Already the little hawk boy seemed to have a better grasp of walking than he did when he was first born. In fact, Remi let him lead the way as he toddled along the sidewalk. Just so long as he didn't jump in the dirt or roll in the grass she was fine with it.
Gavin was having a blast. This was his first time he'd been out on the compound with Mommee's permission. It was nice, not having to sneak out a window or anything. He'd have to let Mommee know that he enjoyed these little escapades and wanted to do them more.
As he turned a corner a few meters ahead of Mommee, something caught his eye. Now what was that? It was small and it had a tail. Actually, it looked a bit like Ina. Did Ina know this thing? Due to toddler ignorance and the fact that Remi hadn't turned the corner yet, Gavin started to run toward the unsuspecting puppy, flapping his wings in excitment.

Hamlet looked up to see the little hawk boy charging at him and was, to say the least, a little startled. The dog flatten it's ears ad took a few steps back, he was a bit of a scaredy cat or scardy dog as it were and probably would have run away if he hadn't noticed the wings too, he liked birds maybe this thing wasn't so scary.
Tristan hadn't been paying much attention to his dog and when he gave a small glance up ahead to see a small thing running at his dog. He was confused for a moment before he realized it was a kid. He picked up his pace a little, he had yet to get Hamlet use to children (though he hoped to before he got his own child) and he just wanted to make sure the probably scared dog didn't bite the kid.
Well that and the child probably had a parent around and he wouldn't say no to some social interaction. The only thing fresh air was second to .

Why did the Ina-looking-thing back away? Gavin was confused, but he still approached it. Ina was fluffier than this one, but he still wanted to know what it felt like. He reached out a hand to pat the Ina-looking-thing on the head in a friendly manner.
When Remi turned the corner, the first thing she saw was her son about to pet a bewildered looking puppy. Though she was quite the dog person, she didn't know how friendly this puppy was. That, and puppies tended to bite more than grown dogs.
"Gavin hold on," she quickened her pace to reach her little boy. With the dexterity of someone who has gotten used to handling toddlers, she scooped Gavin up in her arms. He reached out with his hands toward the puppy,
"Want to touch!"
It was then that she noticed a man heading in their direction. She'd never seen him around the compound before. Then again, a lot of new people seemed to be coming by recently.
"Umm, hello," she smiled in greeting, as her hands were too full holding a squirming Gavin. "Is this your puppy?"
Stupid question, but she never was good at social interaction.

When he was petted Hamlet relaxed instantly. He loved being pet and anyone who did so instantly became one of Hamlet's favourite people. He was happy, tounge lolling out of his mouth until Remi picked up the little boy. The dog perked up a little when he realized he wasn't being pet any longer and looked up tilting his head to the side. Why was he so far away now, he couldn't pet him from there.
Tristan and last caught up to his dog and smiled at Remi. "Yes, he's mine. Hamlet is his name and Tristan's mine." He held out his hand but then pulled it back a little, realizing it would be difficult to shake with the little boy in her arms. Then he fully took in the boy... and the wings.
He blinked a few times, remembering a vauge mention of the children being different, he guessed this is what was meant by that. He got over the shock quickly and then smiled at Gavin, "Hello there."

Gavin could totally empathize with Hamlet. He was too far away to reach the puppy now. He reached out with his tiny arms, but Mommee's grip was too strong for him.
"My name's Remi," Remi introduced herself, holding a polite smile. She then nodded down toward the little boy in her arms, "And this is Gavin. He's one of the Souls reborn here at the lab. I'm his guardian, obviously."
Gavin then noticed that this new man was looking at him. Well he seemed friendly. Smiles usually meant friendly things, right? He smiled back and--much to Remi's bewilderment--he then reached out for him. He'd been in Mommee's arms too many times, and wanted to know what being held by someone else felt like. That other mean lady from before hadn't been very nice, but this guy seemed really nice. He had an Ina-looking-thing, and therefore that made him cool.

"I was told they weren't going to be normal but I had no idea they'd have animal apendages," Tristan said still looking over the little boy.
He was rather surprised when the little boy stuck out his arms towards him. He hadn't ever really held a child, but he supposed he would have to get use to that, having one of his own soon and all. "Uh... could I? Hold him I mean," he asked, he just wanted to make sure before he just took the child from her.
Hamlet would have frowned if he could. Now Tristan was getting attention from Gavin, it wasn't fair. He should be being petted! He growled a little and let out a bark to let them know he wasn't happy about this.

"Uhh sure," she said, still caught off guard from Gavin's actions. He hadn't done that with Marc, Hadrian, or Dacian. Oh wait, he did launch himself at Dacian's face. She should be happy that all he wants is to be held. Shifting Gavin to make the transfer easier, she handed him over.
"I had no idea about the wings either," she said, her hands now empty. "Apparently they're all blended with some item or animal. So far I've seen kids blended with lace and a wolf. Gavin's a hawk."
Gavin squeeled happily as he was handed over. Finally, new arms! Noticing the Ina-looking-thing on the ground barking. He smiled at it.
"Hamit!" he chirped, trying to pronounce the puppy's name and failing miserably.

Taking a hold of Gavin was akward at first, he adjusted the boy a few times to make sure he was getting it right. The word wolf caught his attention. He loved wolves, he had worked with some at the zoo once. He couldn't help thinking, hoping that his child would be like an animal as well. A tiger would be nice he liked them more than wolves.
When Gavin tried to say Hamlet Tristan couldn't help but smiled and laugh a little. "He's so cute."
Hamlet was frustrated he tried to climb up Tristan's leg our at least make himself closer to Gavin by standing on his hind leg and placing his front paws on his owner's leg and barked again, his tail swinging back and forth furiously.

Gavin wasn't complaining about the hold, so that meant this guy was doing something right. His grip wasn't as tight as Mommee's, which gave him more freedom to move around. He liked that, and his softies could flap without anything blocking them.
Remi couldn't help but laugh as well. This man had no idea. The cuteness was the only thing keeping her going insane from everything else her toddler did.
"Have you moved in yet?" she asked, trying to make conversation. "I've only been here a few weeks, myself."
Gavin was still looking toward Hamlet with interest. The puppy seemed friendly too. Being that he still couldn't reach him, he tried the next best thing. Giving his softies a good flap, he managed to dislodge a feather or two. Without shifting too much so that this nice guy wouldn't drop him, he grabbed one out of the air. Reaching with the feather, Gavin could touch the puppy's nose with the very tip of the feather. His softies had to be good for something.

"Yeah, moved in today actually. I'm on the forth floor near the one building, I think its a lab," He said, nodding as he spoke. He thought about asking where she lived but something about that seemed... almost stalkerish so he stopped himself.
When Gavin started to move Tristan tightened his grip, not as sure as Gavin seemed to be that he wouldn't drop the boy.
Hamlet was happy to be getting attention again and sniffed at the feather. This however caused the puppy's nose to feel fun and made Hammie let out a little puppy sneeze. That didn't seem to bother him much because as soon as he recovered he started to n** at the feather in a playful way.

"Ah, I know where you're talking about," Remi nodded in acknowledgement. That was right above Marc. Blegh. She didn't want to think about him right now. Still, she had to chuckle. "You'll have a very...interesting...neighbor living below you. I'm over in the building by the gardens."
Gavin giggled as the puppy started biting at his feather. He dangled it playfully, lifting it every now and then to see if he could make the puppy jump. He wanted a puppy now.

"I haven't met any of my neighbours yet, though I got a letter from one. The only other person I've met lives in your building too," Tristan said watching the boy and the dog with much amusement. At the same time he wanted to say something, she seemed to be doing most of the talking or at least asking all the question, things like that and he wanted to contribute to the conversation better. "So how long have you had Gavin?"
Hamlet did try and jump as the feather was pulled up from him, to no avial however, he couldn't jump at all. The next time Gavin lowered it however and he manged to get it in his mouth, he pulled down on the feather. Two could play at this game.

Remi was slightly curious as to who else he'd met, wondering if it was someone she also knew. Maybe it was another new person she didn't know yet. She mentally laughed at herself. Before she'd moved to the compound she'd been pretty much a loner due to work. Now she was grabbing at every chance to meet new people. However, she didn't get a chance to ask, as Tristan had asked his own question.
"Just a few weeks," she replied, also smiling at her son and the dog. "I'm still adjusting to having a toddler around. It's a bit unnerving to come home and find out he's draped his entire room in toilet paper."
His room was still that way, since she'd kept putting off cleaning up that mess. Gavin seemed to like it that way, so it was alright for now.
Gavin 'erked' as Hamlet pulled down on the feather. If he wasn't careful, he would break the feather. And that would definitely not be good! Still, not wanting to back down from a challenge, he pulled back. The feather started to rip.

"Sounds like me as a kid, I did all sorts of things and would get away with it because my parents spoiled me. There was this one time that my mom just re did the bathroom and I drew all over it with black crayon. It was so bad that they had to do the bathroom again," Tristan said, laughing as he reminiced, "Its a real wonder that I didn't turn out as more of a brat. Personally I'm scared out of my mind about having my kid I have no idea how to take care of one."
Hamlet growled ut he meant it in the most playful way he could. Tightening his jaw and pulling down as hard as he could.
Again he tightened his grip a little as The tug of war started. While he was a little worried his hands might slip he also knew Hammie wasn't that strong yet so he figured he could hold on. Not to mention he probably couldn't get the dog to stop without kicking him, the dog didn't listen to verbal commands and Tristan would never hit an animal. Never.
