There's a lott of things my parents say especially the difference between this asian and that asian. So i was wondering, whether an asian person is chinese, korean, filipino, japanese, taiwanese, viet, indonesian, malaysian, singaporean, thai, and so on and on, if it really should matter? Would you rather be called 'asian' or be specifically called "that chinese or filipino" chick or guy? To me, I rather be called asian. I mean we all probably eat white rice, eat noodles, and like variations of cooking chicken or fish. So does it really matter? Even if the language is different, or the skin color is slighlty darker or lighter, are we all the same or just almost similar and does it really matter so much?

I would rather be called Asain only if the person really doesn't know what kind of asian I am. Many times, I have been called, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and check this out, some dumbass called me MEXICAN. I would just prefer being called Asian. save others the trouble of trying to guess what nationality I am
by the way, I am filipino. you can tell by my name.

I'd rather be call "the Asian"... But where I live theres lots of Asians... So if someone refers to someone as "the Asian".... You'll have to be specific... Or you'd hear about a dozen "who me?"s... >.<...

If the person didn't know any countries in asia, then i wouldn't mind being called asian. we all have to have asian pride
but I might begin to hate it. there would be tons of stereotyping. people would be like "oh! you're asian? don't all asians have a great wall of china in it? don't all asians have samurai and stuff??" I hate being stereotyped.[

I would perfer being called "Asian", but if they start to stereotype, (I would explain, but it would be such a long post)
Erm, for example, like mixing up different things from different countries... along the lines of that.
sweatdrop I'm not sure how to explain it exactly...
