It didn't take long for Yaten to bring Chepi to where his friend's family den was. Chocolate eyes looked back to the little doe as he smiled warmly, "It's this way...and don't be alarmed by a little green cub running towards you. He won't hurt you, I promise." He took a few steps towards the den and called out, "Siltim!"

Chepi was still inspecting this new land. She had come across a stream, plenty of trees, and lush green grass. This was paradise and she was starting to like it. As Yaten stopped and called out for his friend, she waited there slightly nervous. "A little green cub?" She's never seen a lion in any odd color, but then again, here she was with a black cheetah.

Ears perked up as Siltim heard his name being called by none other than Yaten! Lime green eyes lit up as he bounced his way out of his family's den. "Yaten!" He cried happily before his gaze settled on a strange animal next to his friend. In no time he was up close towards the doe and inspecting her, "Who's this? What are you?"
Laughing softly, Yaten playfully tapped Siltim on the head with his paw to remind him that he was in the presence of another. "Siltim, this is Chepi. She is a deer, or a doe to be more precise. I've brought her here in the hopes to teach you some more things about the world around you."

Chepi watched the cub curiously, this was a new experience for her. Getting up close and personal with a lion cub without trying to become dinner. She smiled slightly, "Hello there." She glanced at Yaten before looking back to the cub, "Whoa there, calm down a bit! First, I know that you're Siltim so I'll introduce myself. I'm Chepi and I am a Klipspringer!"

Eyes got wider by the second as Siltim was taking everything in. This was so cool, he reveled happily! Then, a sly grin slowly crept along his face. He was getting to do something that his sister wasn't doing with him! "A Klipspringer...I've never heard about that before. Chepi almost looks like an animal that I've seen here in the lands before." He paused before looking to Yaten, "Learn? About what?!" He asked while pouncing on that tail of the cheetah's.
Feeling his tail get attacked, Yaten playfully pawed back at Siltim, glad to see that he was in such good spirits today. It wasn't too long ago where he had stalked off unhappy about the other day. "Yes. There is much you need to know about the world around you to become a more knowledgeable lion. And trust me, you'll be happy to know how things work here in the world." He turned to Chepi, "Now, take Chepi for example. She is a deer and prey to the lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs and any other type of predator. Now, while that may be true, that doesn't mean that us predators can't have relations with prey animals. In some cases, predator and prey can live side by side such as here in the Pridelands, and do you know why?"

Chepi couldn't help but giggle at Siltim and his behavior. He seemed like a little baby to her, one that needed to know everything there was. Her little tail flicked back and forth while she listened to Yaten. She couldn't help but do a double take on the cheetah, he seemed to have so much knowledge about the world around them that it shocked her. "I'd think that because the lions chose only the prey that can be taken such as the sick or the weak, not the healthy and the strong so that the herds can continue to flourish."

Lime green eyes looked at Chepi as Siltim nodded his head, "Yea...I remember hearing my parents talk about all of this. But why, are you telling me this now?" The green cub was slightly confused as to why he was being lectured now and not going to do something fun, such as playing a game!
A wide smile grew on Yaten's features at Chepi's reply, "Ah yes, that would be the appropriate answer." His tail swished slightly before he chuckled softly at Siltim's reply, "Come, I want to show you some things about the world around you. Knowledge is power, and with that power you can make wise choices for the future." He looked to Chepi, "Care to join us? It shall be fun."

Chepi nodded her head as she took a few steps closer towards the pair, ready for wherever Yaten wanted to take them. Her eyes shifted between the cheetah and the cub, it seemed strange to see them as friends, but they were. And, it was even stranger to think that she might be friends with them as well! "I'm ready, lead the way Yaten."

Turning slightly and walking away from where he currently was, Yaten's chocolate eyes gazed back at Siltim and Chepi, beckoning them to follow him. "Come on, I know of a great place to show you a valuable lesson. One that might just come in handy in the future, Siltim."
Getting up and following after his friend, Siltim was in no hurry. If Yaten was going to teach him something, then that must mean he'd get to have lots of fun later. Plus, even if he did act like he was bored out of his mind, he was secretly curious about everything and took in any information that he could. "Where are we going, Yaten?" But his response was silence. An eye shifted towards Chepi, "You're not that big...can you run fast?"

Chepi turned to Siltim as he asked her a question. This surprised her, did this cub know nothing about prey? She nodded, "Oh yes, we Klipspringer can sprint quite fast. Which comes in handy when a predator decides to make us a meal." It was heartwarming to see that Yaten wanted to teach this cub a valuable lesson, though she wondered about the cub's parents. Were they busy with other cubs or something? She kept quiet and followed them.

Slowing down just a bit, Yaten glanced back at Siltim and Chepi. He shook his head and mentally laughed at the cub's question. Though, it was always better to learn things early rather than later. As he raised his head to get a better view of the area, his chocolate eyes swept over the landscape before landing on what he was searching for. "Ah, we're close." He lowered his voice a bit, "I want both of you to keep very quiet and follow everything I tell you. We mustn't bring any attention to ourselves or else this chance will be lost."
At Yaten's words, Siltim's curiousity was piqued. "Oh! What are we doing? Something bad?" He grinned happily at the thought before puffing out his chest, "I'l be on my best behavior." Chepi's response made him surprised and he kept quiet as he followed Yaten through the grasslands towards a slightly treed area.

Chepi nodded her head to Yaten, "Yes, of course. I don't know what exactly we're doing, so I guess I'll have to trust you." She didn't want to, but she'd have to right now. At least she knew no harm would come to them since Siltim was here, and Yaten didn't seem like the kind of cheetah to bring harm to another. He was nice, she admitted to herself. She followed quietly after Siltim and Yaten, also wondering what was going on.

Satisfied that the pair was going to listen to him, Yaten crept silently towards the area where he found not too many days ago. Chocolate eyes were alert for any signs of movement and spotted none. Smiling to himself, he kept on walking until he spotted something up ahead. Ah-ha! This is what he was looking for. Turning around to whisper to Chepi and Siltim, "This is where we'll stop. Now, take a closer look at what we're witnessing at the moment."
Lime green eyes widen as Siltim saw what they were looking at. A gazelle mother and her newborn fawn. The cub settled himself down on the ground and watched intently. The fawn was so tiny compared to it's mother and he could still see the fur wet from birth. So this is what Yaten wanted to show him.

Chepi got a good look at the place as Yaten told them this is where they'd stop. Her eyes settled on a gazelle mother and fawn not too far away. How wonderful! This was a once-in-a-chance experience to see a new life begin it's journey. She had always wanted to become a mother and took in this moment as she watched the mother and fawn intently.

Pride swelled up in his chest as Yaten noticed the pair's expression at their lesson. The start of a new life. It wasn't everyday that a predator such as Yaten or Siltim got to see such a rare event. In a soft voice so that they wouldn't disturb the new mother, "That Siltim, is the beginning of a new life. Now, can you see why we only eat the sick and the weak. Imagine if that mother had been weak and given birth. That fawn, more than likely, wouldn't have lived the day without milk from it's mother."
Now, things were starting to clear up to the green cub as Siltim was understanding why everything worked in a cycle. And to break it would mean dire consequences. "I see Yaten." He flicked his tail and happy to witness this, "Thank you for showing me this. I expect we should head back." He looked to Chepi, "You can come with us!" And with that, he got up and started to head back towards the den with Yaten in tow.
