Chachili was asleep.
She lay, snoozing peacefully yet carelessly, in a quiet spot under the shade of a tree. It felt nice... warm, even, and Chachili couldn't of been happier.

"This is the life," she yawned, awakening, "I feel refreshed. But I don't want to move from here..."

The truth was, Chachili was becoming increasingly lazy. She wasn't so worried about predators anymore, as the ones she had already met were always... kind.

The grey Klipspringer found it strange that she, fresh meat, could have striked up quite a few friendships over the past month. Yet, they had been friendships, and nothing more. She had not encountered the same animal twice, excluding a spunky rabbit.

Sighing, the Klipspringer shook her head and strengthened, muscles rippling a little, as she stood up straight and stretched. It was so warm. A slight breeze picked up across the savannah, and Chachili closed her eyes and welcomed it.

Who was she going to meet today?

Being in the den, surrounded by your mother and 4 other siblings could be considered a real drag. Especially if you were the odd ball of the family, baring the most unusual pelt of all the family, as well as being the most... 'incapable' of getting around on his own. However, Tamani'kicho was determined to prove that last statement as wrong!

Shuffling from the den while his mommah and siblings rested, the halloweenish male walked (more like crawled) to the best of his abilities away from his snoozing family. His father would be home soon, so he had to get out of sight before he saw him.

It took a while to get an okay distance from the den, but even then, the small cub seemed to be tiring greatly. His sighed, groaning as he plopped onto the ground, unaware of the Klipspringer that was just a few feet from him. His left hind leg curled underneath him, while the right one, the 'useless' one, seem to twist in an awkward angle, yet it did not cause any pain to the cub.

A lion...

The alarming scent was suddenly there, riding the wind, and Chachili's heart starting beating furiously.

There was a lion. A lion!

Chachili turned, eyes wide, to see the cub trotting awkwardly towards her. She'd had a bad experience with lions in the past. There was no way she was going to repeat that experience. Chachili was going to run.

However, the lion seemed to be a cub. And, as Chachili realised, the lion was not a lion. It was another type of big cat. A leopard? A cheetah, perhaps?
Her racing heart slowed.

Thank goodness.

At least it had not been one of those savage, horrible creatures she loathed so much. This cub had an air of differance about him, too. The way he walked... one of his paws seemed to flop about and occasionally drag around.

"You alright there, cub?" Chachili popped her head from the grasses, as this cub, clearly, was not a threat to her. His leg was too mangled to be of much use, "You seem to me that you're hurt."

At the sounds around him, Tama's eyes widened, but he didn't look at the one near him. What if this was a lion his father told him about? What if... Oh no, this truely was a bad idea to come out here! Tama whimpered, curling away from the the prey, but still not looking at her. "Don't hurt me." He cried out, showing he really was the 'baby of the family.'

After a moment, his head turned towards the deerlike creature. "...What are you?" He blinked, manuerving his front legs so they could hold up the entire weight of his body in a sitting posistion, rather than letting his bad leg endure some.

"I'm fine." He murmured quietly, still looking oddly at the creature. "It doesn't hurt..I don't feel it." I was true, he didn't feel his hind leg the one bit! "...you're not a lion...are you?" He gonked, ready to back up (though, probably fallen when he did so) if that was the case!

Chachili almost cracked up.

"A lion? Me?" she laughed, bending down to stop her muscles from aching, "Far from it, little one. I'm a Klipspringer. Set a lion onto me, and I'm as good as gone. You sure do have quite the imagination. Who would've suggested I'd be... I'd be a... a... LION!"

She roared with laughter. Chachili hadn't come across a joker before. Surely, this 'cat' knew how a lion was meant to be? The cub was practically feline himself. Her sides shook as she chuckled. That joke was gold.

"If I'm a lion," she grinned, "What are you, a hare? My name's Chachili... a full grown Klipspringer. And what are you? What's your name, cub?"

He was on her 'turf' after all. Chachili found it essential to know the names of those she met. It was irritating not knowing what name to call out if a situation occurred. Sighing, the grey deer flinched as the cub's tone dropped. It was a sad sort of tone.
He was speaking of his leg.

"You can't feel it? So, it's an old wound, then?" Chachili asked, staring rudely at it, "How'd you get that, then? In some great, awesome battle? I've got a gammy leg, too, though it's only given me a limp. Got it fighting in a battle of life and death, I did. I suppose you got yours the same way!"

The deer was lying, of course. She had gotten a limp, herself, in battle once... but she had only been a fawn, caught up in a fight. She had not been brave. She had just been hurt. But, seeing as it was in Chachili's personality to lie, she hammed up the story to make it sound more interesting.

The cub's leg looked a lot more damaged than her own, however. Chachili stared at it, a little sadly.
A cub shouldn't have to go through such things.

When she said that, his ears plopped down to droop. His head ducked inbetween his shoulders, shying away from the Klipspringer. "No..I'm a che...cheet...chee-ta?" He asked questioningly, not knowing what his own breed was. "And...my name is..Ta-Mah!" Tama in reality. He shook his head after a moment.

"No. Is...Is that bad?" His ears perked. Chachili said she had an injured leg...but it wasn't as bad at his. She could walk well enough to him! So it probably didn't bother her, like his didn't to him.

"I dunno how I got it..I think it's always been like that?" He shrugged. "Mommah says it's a special leg...but i don't see what so special about it." He gonked. "It just...lays there." he tried to move the mangled leg as he owuld with any other limb, but it just didn't move. Instead, he pawed at it, moving it slightly with one of his front paws.

"No!" Chachili suddenly felt bad, "It's alright. I mean, you don't need to get it from a special battle or anything like that. And my leg? Ah, it's nothing. I can't run as fast as most of the herd, but it doesn't slow me down too much. Just a hop when I walk, every now and again."

She straightened.

"A cheetah, eh? This is the first time I've met one of you... as cubs, that is. I've seen a grown one of your kind before. It's a shame about your leg... you're all meant to be the fastest creatures on the savannah, aren't you?"

Chachili said the worst of things sometimes. Maybe it was just her big mouth. She didn't really mean to be hurtful, but... she'd never met someone with a leg like Tama's before. She was ignorant, that's all. True to her name, Chachili was.

"Tama... that's a nice name. It sounds like the name of someone I used to know." The Klipspringer looked distant for a moment, then straightened, "Ah, well. Maybe you could use magic to fix your leg. There might be some around the place. You never know. Like, herbs and things. There are quite a few characters around with great medical ability."

"Oh...Would you like to meet more?" The small cub asked, shuffling a bit before lowering himself back on the ground to lay. Even though he would prefer to stay on all limbs so if something were to come, he could run, but there was no one around really, so he had nothing to worry about really.

"I mean...if you wanna meet more cubs that is! I have...2 borthers and two sisters!" He said cheerfully before frowning.

"We...are?" He's ears drooped again. "I won't be the fastest creature in the savnnah." He sighed. Curse to the stupid legs of his!

"Really..? Who?" He tilted his head. "I never heard of anyone with my name...or like my name before! Could I meet this someone sometime?" The cub asked hopefully, unaware of the distant gaze Chachili held. "Magic?" His eyes widened. "Can you do magic?!" He chirped quietly, questioning the female.

"Meet your siblings?" Chachili snorted, then grinned, "Are you sure that they won't just eat me? I'm a meal on legs, you know. Your lot just love eating tasty Klipspringers like me."

Still, Chachili apprechiated the invitation. Maybe someday she'd encounter this cheetah again, or maybe even some of his family. It was certainly possible.

Now the cub was asking who she had been reffering to, when she'd foolishly spilt a secret about herself.

"Tama... that's a nice name. It sounds like the name of someone I used to know."

What a stupid thing to say. Chachili didn't want to reveal anything about her days as a fawn. Why did she have to bring this topic back up again? She shook the thought away, a little embarrassed.

"Who? It's... nothing. Just a friend of mine. I've got no idea where they are now," she sighed, "It's all in the past now. But the thing is, your names are so alike. It's funny calling you 'Tama'. I always think I'm calling... calling to..."

Him.

She shook the thought from her head again.

"Ah, magic? Me?! Oh, I don't know much. However... have you heard of the Magic Water Hole? It lies within this world... nobody's found it yet, but it's a legendary place. Dip your leg in there, and it should heal. However, it's really hidden well. You should look for it, someday. Or, alternatively, see someone about it. There's a cheetah who's really good at medicine. Her name's 'Minty'. Know her? You should see her someday. She's very skilled with handling herbs."

Of course, Chachili had made up the story about the Magic Water Hole. But this was a cub, and cubs needed stories. And this cub deserved to hear about magic... and Minty.

"I'd recommend seeing Minty. She's a green cheetah. You'll know her when you see her, Tama."

"Sure they won't!" Tama squeaked. "I mean...I'm not gonna eat you. You're too nice to be eaten!" He giggled, stretching his front paws before rolling onto his side.

"Magic Water Hole...? No.." His eyes widened as she told the story. His ears perked with interest. If he found this waterhole, then he could get his leg to work! And, then he could be one of the fastest creatures like Chachili had told him!

He shook his head again. Man he didn't know anyone. "Where can I find her?" He asked after a moment, thinking. "Could you lead me to her one day?" The small cub asked with curious orange eyes.

Chachili gave Tama a sad smile.

"I'd like to meet them, someday. But you'd need to be with me, Tama. Otherwise, I'd feel like my life was in danger. Even a great warrior like me needs someone to protect them. I'm walking meat," she flicked her ears, "But if your siblings are as clever as you are, Tama, they should know not to eat me. Someday, maybe you should show me them?"

She looked to the sky. Time was passing, slowly. The klipspringer pictured an hour glass, imagining one drop of African soil falling through the glass, one at a time. Soon, the day would be over. The hour glass would be full. Chachili would need to find a safer place to stay.

"I should be off, Tama," she smiled, standing up and stretching her legs, "But one day, we should meet by here again, under this tree. I'll bring Minty for you... she might be able to fix up that leg of yours. I can't garruntee anything, but she's very skilled. She could look at it for you. Look out for her, anyway. She's a green cheetah, the same kind that you are. Except, she has emerald spots."

She smiled, eyes glinting warmly.

"In the meantime, you should look for that Magic Fountain. But don't tell anyone you're looking for it. The magic will only work if you keep it a secret between us, alright?"

The grey klipspringer then bowed her head. She respected the little cub. She'd talked to him out of pity to start with, but then she grown to like the cheetah a little more.

"When you grow, I'll meet you again."

She stood straight, then, with a smile, turned and bounded away. Before she disappeared, she called to Tama over her shoulder.

"Just don't eat me, then, alright?"

(( Thanks for the roleplay, KasaiLoki! x3 Maybe Chachili could meet Tama again, sometime? <3 I could see if I can bring Minty, too, one day. Thankyou very much for the roleplay! ^o^ ))
