Ecavi,
Some things have come to my attention. I am requesting that you join me for lunch. I'll set the mirror up, hope to see you at 1 pm.

The lovely thing about Jasmine being in trouble is that it makes leaving the house so much easier, no need to feel guilty about asking- no, telling her to babysit for awhile. So when Ecavi had gotten a note from Ceres, she had no trouble whatsoever arranging to go at the requested time. After a quick check back on Myze and Ceri, with her note in hand, she went to a mirror at one o'clock.
With a single touch of the mirror, she travels with the same falling feeling from before. Instinctively her wings flutter against the 'falling,' but they don't accomplish anything.

"Welcome Ecavi." Ceres smiled, and led her throgh that small room and into the kitchen.
"I've fixed some sandwhiches, and chips. There is also a veggy plate. I always have one handy for Cassara." Ceres entered the kitchen.
"You doing well enough with the news yourself?" Ceres pulls out a seat, and then takes one oposite.

"Hello," Ecavi greets her hostess politely, "Thanks for inviting me." Not that it was just a casual invitation to lunch, but it never hurts to be polite. Of course, she feels the two dragons could use some manners. With a smile, though, she follows Ceres to the kitchen.
"That's wonderful," she comments, sitting down at the table, "The news... well enough is a good way to put it." It's not like she's in an outright rage over any news she knows.

Ceres crossed her legs only at the ankles, placing a napkin in her lap. "I want to inform you that I had no advance warning of Rhine's purposal."
She took a sandwhich, and put it on a plate. "He's a boy of whim, always has been."

Ecavi leans back a bit in her chair, though sitting up straight and not with her wings against the chair. She takes no food yet. She nods at Cere's declaration, and description of Rhine- a valid one if she's ever heard it. Her own last encounter with Rhine proved that much, asking for respect one minute, being disrespectful another.
"I noticed," she says with a meek smile, "I'm not Jasmine's father, but if ever such a thing happened I was hoping I'd be spoken to first."
She pauses.
"It's not that I don't want them to be happy, but I think they're still a bit young," she says hurriedly, not wanting to sound like she's the enemy here but needing to be honest. If there's a chance of finding anyone who'd agree, that's most likely to be Ceres.

"I get news an hour in advance, or at least four hours late if not longer." Ceres sighed.
She lingered a moment. "Perhaps his auctions are my fault. I've never had much a hold on him. Then again I've never raised a boy, or a dragon for that mater."
Finishing her sandwich she sighed. "Rhine, takes after this islands nature. Grow quickly, and linger out the rest of life." She pauses. "No telling what he'll accomplish next."

"I got this news a couple days after it happened," Ecavi said, her tone almost sad, "My own daughter doesn't tell me these things anymore, it seems." She hated to admit it, she still remembers when she couldn't get the girl to quiet down.
"Well," Ecavi hesitates, finally taking a sandwich and thinking about what she says. As much as she'd like to just blame Rhine for everything, she knows that isn't true, "It's not just Rhine, it's the pair of them. Jasmine's always been somewhat rebellious." The fairy had thought it was calming down, but then the two dragons disappeared from the house no less than half an hour after Rhine asked for her trust.
"Quite the couple, they are," she says with a small smile.

Ceres lets a silence fall between them for a moment, smiling at the fact of them being a pair.
Soft spoken, yet serious tone she speaks. "Rhine has a different personality around her. You'll come to see it too. He is aggressive, and sly to those out side his 'circle'. His 'circle' consists of Renor, Kaida, and at the center Jasmine. However, out of those Jasmine is the only one to see him with his guard down. The side that isn't aggressive, or sly. He is overly protective, and..."
Ceres looks at the wall, she knows why Rhine took Jasmine (not to extent of details), and sighs. "Overly, hormonal. The one part of him that he is ashamed of."
Ceres waved a hand, drinks appearing at the table, she took a sip of water. "Hold him not for his actions of taking her away from you that day without permission. He did it to safe guard himself..." She lingers, unsure if she should mention it.

Ecavi scratches her head and gives an awkward laugh at Ceres' explanation of Rhine and his personality. It's not unusual for people to be different around their close friends, and she knew there had to be more to him than she ever saw but she didn't know 'overly hormonal' was part of that.
"You're not the only one to say I shouldn't hold it against him," she says finally, pausing. Rhine had said it, Jasmine had said it, Ceres is saying it- except Ceres was saying it more as Rhine protecting himself, not both of them protecting their own privacy. In either case, it was not in Jasmine's best interest if she doesn't want to get in trouble- but Ecavi is not keen on arguing about this again.

Ceres watched Ecavi carefully, and very thought through she is the most poliet way said. "Rhine didn't ask, because he didn't have a choice." She paused, she knew everyone had a choice. "Something as a joke was said between them. His overly hormonal self, took it over the line, he took Jasmine away to clear something between them so that it wouldn't happen again."
She paused. "He didn't approach you because like I siad that side embarases him. He was trying to avoid you seeing him in that state. He'll allow Jasmine to get a glimpse of it, simply put because that is his lover."
She paused. "Now, had he come to you with his 'problem' you being her mother, I'm using guess work, would have shown him the door, and not allowed him to have taken her. The problem would have never been solved, and it would happen again. He would have told you himself, but you were angry and asked him to leave."

Ecavi let's Ceres finish her explanations, just the same as she has done for Rhine, though not without turning a little red. She didn't come to be scolded, called (or implied as) a bad parent, and of course she is still getting confirmation about any suspicions she had about what exactly went on.
"Look, Jasmine's room may be on the ground floor of the house, but it's not like I stand around and eavesdrop on them during any visits. Otherwise I'd be much more aware of what happened, or why it happened," Ecavi counters, finally, "I hear doors open and close, but rarely do I hear anything being said. Unless their discussion led to loud, inappropriate shouting they'd have privacy."
It's clear it's not easy for her to argue this out, and that she is reluctant but feels the need to defend herself against any implied accusations she felt Ceres' words had.
"I'm not sure how I'd have handled the problem if he had come to me, but your guess could be accurate considering I was spending the afternoon with small children decorating a cake," she says, "I'm not going to discuss my parenting abilities any further, but what I would like to know is how to prevent my mirrors being used as doors."

Ceres rolls her eyes. "If your a bad parent, then I'll win the award for awful. You don't have a hand happy dragon on your hands who says oh mother by the way I am moving out next week, and I have a job." Ceres held back her tears. "Or simply the fact that I can barely keep Rhine and Cassara from killing each other."
She returned to her calm state. "There is no way to stop mirrors connecting, unless you shatter it or turn it around. However, I am sure that if you asked him, he'd stop just popping in. I do believe the last time he came through the front door, and left through the front door." Ceres smiled.

"That's personality and sibling rivalry," Ecavi argues in Ceres' favor, noticing her sad expression, but doesn't say anything else on the topic. It's not the first time she's felt something she's been told made her feel like she was being called a bad parent.
"Oh," she murmurs when Ceres tells her there's no way to stop the mirrors, "I will be asking him, then. And to be fair, last time he came in through the front door, left through a mirror, came back through a mirror and then left through the front door."

"Well, he did try." Ceres smirks towards Ecavi.
"I can call him if you like, or you can wait till he arrives." She smiled. "He comes over for dinner at 6 pm before he goes to work at 8 pm." She sighs. "I hate that he works till 4 am in the morning. He did it so he could have time for Jasmine in the afternoon."
