In the world of Gaia, a strangely empty maternity would be found. Mainly because of where it was situated. The inside was mainly of pale blue and white, no posters or leaflets or any kind were to be found.
Infact it would of looked like no body had stepped foot in the place at all if it wasn't for how clean the place was, and the bell on the desk. A small sign next to it reading "please ring bell for assistance".
Though a computer could just be seen through the reception window, flickering slightly now and again.

June stopped in front of the doors leading into the maternity. She gave the building a once-over. It seemed somewhat... displaced? Was that the word? She squeezed her husband, Jack's, hand slightly, and pushed the door open into the lobby.
The cleanliness gave her a shock, the same reaction she had originally had when she came in with Jack for their appointment with a Dr. Julia Walts. As her eyes settled, getting familiar with the whitish interior of the building, she glanced about the lobby. There was practically nothing in sight, same as last time. Seeing the same receptionists desk as her visit with Dr. Walts, and the same bell as her visit with Dr. Walts, she walked forward, Jack in tow, and gave it a slight tap.

Jack trudged quietly into the pristine waiting room, blinking in surprise. It was the same as last time - startlingly clean and bright. His fingers twitched with the urge to throw paint all over the walls, just to brighten the atmosphere and give it a bit of colour. He frowned and shook his head, surpressing his artist's nature. It was a doctor's office, despite the man using the title of professor. It was supposed to be boringly white and sterile.
He cleared his throat and followed his dear wife, remaining silent as she tapped the bell. He glanced around, wondering briefly what the professor would be like. Jack only hoped that the appointment would go as well as the one with Dr. Walts.

As soon as the bell was tapped, a rather loud "BANG" was heard from the room in the back, followed by loud - but muffled - cursing.
"I'm coming! I'm coming!" Said the voice, now clearer since the door leading into the reception was opened from the back entrance.
What came through the door was a mass of papers, followed by a rather odd looking man waving his arms about at the flying forms. He was odd looking mainly because he had a rough pony tail in his hair as thought it had been done in a rush, along with a crumpled nurses hat pinned to the top of his head. He also seemed to be out of breath.
Finally reaching the desk, he gave a great sigh of a relief leaning on his hand to try and regain his energy. "Just a sec, I just need to catch myself..." He breathed, grinning at the pair before turning away. "Pheeeeww WEE!"

The loud bang gave June quite a start. What could that have been? An emergency? A C-section? Was someone dying in labor? She glanced eagerly through the windows, trying to see something that wasn't a flickering computer screen. Nothing.. but, what's that? A stack of.. papers?
Well, that certainly wasn't as exciting as someone dying... June always had been amused by the most silly of things; a robbery, an arrest, a car crash. Of course, so was everyone else, right? Who couldn't help but stare?
The stack of papers gave way to the sight of a man.. with a nurse's hat on his head, over a crude ponytail. Oh god..., she thought to herself, hoping this wasn't a real-life rendition of Meet the Parents. Maybe it was just the secretary? Perhaps he had simply put on the wrong hat? Hopefully...
She smiled curtly at him, nodding when he mentioned something about needing a breath. She glanced at Jack, to catch his reaction to this nurse.. secretary... paper-holding man.

Jack, on the other hand, couldn't help but smile slightly at the man's... individual appearance. He quickly straightened his face and cleared his throat, not willing to let his wife see his amusement and approval. Giving a curt nod like June's, he turned to the odd man, only his twinkling blue eyes giving away his gut reaction. "Is everything alright?" he asked quickly, tilting his head as he squeezed his wife's hand.
A thought popped into his mind. This couldn't be Professor Cray, could it? He almost laughed out loud at the thought. To him, the notion was brilliant, but he could only guess how his wife would react if this was, indeed, Cray. "Are you Professor Cray?" he blurted, furrowing his brows with curiosity.

Giving Jack a wide grin that seemed a little too happy have just come out of the room with a bang, he took the hat and pony tail out of his hair, giving it a ruffle. "That's me! Sorry about the mess, Im having trouble finding a secretary!"
Placing the hat and hair band on the side of the desk, Cray turned to his comp and pressed the space to show up his scedule, only one block reading "Jack and June Bell Appointment", the other just said busy.
"Jack and June Bell, yes?" He asked, giving the pair an excited grin.

June stared at her husband in horror, wondering how he could ask such a thing. Nonetheless, it did seem to get her nagging question answered... this loon was their doctor. She watched uneasily at he ruffled at his hair; it was rather long, down to about his shoulders. Isn't it unhealthy for doctors to have long hair? What about... lice?
Shaking it out of her mind, she watched his actions on the computer screen, noting that he had no other schedules for the day. No shocker there, everyone was probably scared off by this appearence. Of course, who was she to point fingers; she herself was quite frightened of him already. Did she really want him to deliver her baby? Would her baby be safe?
June sighed, letting it go, just this once. "Yes, we're the Bells..."

Jack, naturally, noticed June's expression and shrugged helplessly, hoping he didn't dig himself too deep into the ground. Trying to win himself back over onto her good side, he cleared his throat and said in a stiff, formal voice (that was obviously not his own), "Ehem... a bit of an unconventional look for a doctor, hmm?" As soon as he spoke, he felt guilty. Who was he to belittle someone for their appearance? After all, he was an advocate for individuality!
He took a few quick steps forward and reached out, grasping the doctor's hand. "Yes, Jack Bell, and this is my wife June. A pleasure to meet you..." he leaned forward and murmured, barely audibly, "'scuse me for what I said."

"What's unconventional about my look?" His face dropped a little as he looked down to examine himself. He didn't look particulary upset by it, nor did he sound it. Just.. No one ever questioned how he looked really.
Well.. Not out of Area 51 anyway.
He was brought back to the real world however when one of the pair grabbed his hand, causing him to lean over the counter. The wide grin had returned.
"Pleasure! Pleasure!" Cray was already getting excited, he even shaked Jack's hand a bit too eagerly in return. "If you could, please go through the door just around the corner from this window? Just take a seat! I have to use this computer since mine blew up!"

June debated on whether she and Jack should actually go through with this. Yes, this Dr. Zee did seem a bit on the... odd side, but sometimes the crazy ones make sense... right?
Was that how it went? Or maybe not... Sighing, she gave Jack's hand a little squeeze, a bit of a habit, and smiled at the Doctor. "Sorry to, er.. hear about your computer." It was all she could come up with. How, in fact, did a computer blow up? Was he talking literally, or.. one of those internal things?
She walked in the direction of where Cray had directed them. The door led them into a room with one chair in the middle. It gave her deja-vu, possibly because it reminded her somewhat of a dentist's chair. She looked a Jack, "I... I think that's for me.." She said, and yet, she continued to stand, squeezing Jack's hand tighter than ever.

Jack resisted the urge to pull his hand away from June's strong grip, instead hoping that his bones would remain intact throughout the appointment. As per usual, he trudged along obediently after his wife, his eyes widening slightly at the sight of the chair. It reminded him of a dentist's chair as well.
Didn't they say that a dentist invented the electric chair? he wondered to himself briefly before shaking the thought away. That went beyond his usual absurd musings - that was just plain cruel to his wife! Mentally, he scolded himself and offered June a reassuring smile.
"I'm not sure what it's for, but whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be fine!" he said in his typical bright, encouraging voice.

Coming through another door that lead to the reception desk, Cray was busy flicking through a pile of paper he had printed off, some of it in a rather strange gobbled language.
"Are we settled?" He grinned at them, taking a seat at his own desk and placing the pile of paper on a part of the surface that wasn't effected by what appeared to have been an explosion. He gestured to the two chairs beside the door leading to the reception.
The computer had literatly blown up, causing the doctor to miss part of his desk, and destroy the part of the shelf above it that had the strange jars of different coloured, clear liquids. This was made a fact by the pile of broken glass and bits of computer in the small bin next to Cray's legs, the labels on the jars clearer to see. Though, the writing was more of a strange picture of lines and circles.

June's attention from the chair averted to the Professor as he barged in, looking through some papers. Having a nosy and curious personality, she caught herself trying to see what was written on them, but she failed to understand anything. Perhaps it was some other language... like... Arabic?
Chewing it over in her mind, she nodded vaguely at Cray's question, and saw his gesture. Snapping out of it, a sense of relief flowed through her, glad she didn't have to sit in the odd chair in the center of the room. Looking once more at Jack, she tilted her head in the direction of the two chairs, just in case he didn't see the Professor's hand.
Hurrying over, she sat down (albeit hesitantly) and patted down her pants, as if they were ruffled. Feeling that the chair wasn't infected in any way, or wouldn't 'bite' her, as some people would refer to in such situations, she gazed over at the Professor once more, glancing over the desk, the glass, the jars... how odd. How could a computer blow up in such a manner? June had never known of such a thing, or that it could even happen.

Jack, too, nodded at Cray's question and settled into the chair next to June, reaching over and patting her leg lovingly, as though to show his constant support. His blue eyes traced the wreckage of the office, silently admiring it. What an explosion that must've been! Part of him wished he had been there to experience it - to live vicariously, one might say, as such behaviour would never be tolerated in their household. A small smile tugged at his lips at the thought, but he quickly made it seem like he was smiling at Professor Cray.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you," he said before wondering if he had already said that out in the lobby. After his brief daydreaming, he couldn't remember much of what had been said, and he continued to smile as though waiting for Cray to speak.
