yes, i think a conservative hippy would be one who does things the true, natural, hippy way of the 60s, not the way of the wanna-bes of today. redface listens to 60s music, wears 60s clothes, etc.

I think it's just about completely impossible to be a conservative, right-wing political supporter. You can like the music of the hippies (i guess), but I can't imagine any right-wing republicans dressing like a hippy, or believing in the hippie truths of free love and peace (or legalizing it)... I thought Bush supporters hated hippies anyway... sweatdrop

Politically, it is possible. You can be a republican and not be a warmonger, you'd just subscribe to a different set of morals. Basically, you'd hold conservative views on matters like abortion, welfare, and health care, you'd just have different ways of dealing with each to get the desired end.

i would feel im pretty much a hippie...i dont ushally wear "hippie clothes" I do have a poncho...but is a very fashionable one..its pink. I am pretty conservative, the other day i wore a pleated green skirt, a dressy blouse with a sweater over top (showing the coller) I just dress in whatever ...i range from preppy (my jean pleated skirt and my polo top im wearing now) to a more punkish style like a band tee and cargo pants. I dont think being a hippie has much to do with clothes...i love life, I love others, i love the world and most of all i love myself...because you cant fully love others unless you love yourself.

Too many people out there stereotype we hippies. As long as you're feelin' the groove and standing up for what you believe in, you're one of us as far as I'm concerned. Being a hippie isn't always about the clothes you wear. Most of us wore those clothes because they were loose and comfortable, not because it defined us. Many modern-day hippies wear everything from bellbottoms to baggy pants. Times have changed and so should the way hippies are viewed. Its more than just clothes.

I guess it depends on your definitin of a hippie, and what you mean by conservative. I' pretty conservative about what I wear and like boys...but I'll go out and shout about something I believe in. I think hippies are conservative, we don't usualy wear extremely flamboant (I can't spell) clothes, and we don't like make our selves noticed most of the time.....so I think that yes hippies can be conservtive, after all hippies are people, and some people are conservative. sweatdrop
