Chath stood outside his yard once again. The summer's sun beatin down on his skin. He was wearing the sun tan lotion that his mother insisted he wear even if it made his skin feel all gross, slimey and smell funny to boot. Right now he was ankle deep in his kiddy pool trying to keep himself cool as he began practicing his new life goal.
Being a Hero.
He stood his chest thrown out his hand placed on his hips, trying to mimic the other superhero poses he had seen on television. He had no strong desire though to wear the costumes that clung to his skin, they all seemed to wear such things, Super man, Spider Man, any of the X-men....well he would be the first super hero NOT wearing latex/spandex. This his was certian. Now the only problem was discovering his 'powers'. The sound of hurting himself made him quail inside. No that was something he was not quite willing to try out to confirm how well his regeneration worked.
He knew he could swim quickly, his tail was more useful than he had realized but was that really considered a super power? He frowned chewing on his lower lip, frowning in distaste from the sun screen..trying not to dispare he then continued working on his 'poses' instead. he strutted around like a plummed peacock trying out fancy ending moves and figuring out some sayins as well.
Jayoku was sitting in the shade of the porch watching idly her son playing 'hero'. Ever since he saw his egg and Lab tech 365 had told him of his 'unnatural ability' to 'regenerate' Chath had been obessed with this idea of becoming a super hero. True though he hadn't come up with any splendid idea's for names, but he said that would come later....

A nervous, wavering voice filled the air, "K-Kei!"
And then from the nearest tree leapt a rather intimidating, scaly creature, wings extended and flapping. It landed rather awkwardly on the ground, and then lifted its head to glance about with menace upon all that lay around it. It snorted and continued chomping on the stolen grocery bag still hooked on its deadly fangs. It rose itself up on its hindlegs, lifting up to its full height. It spotted the nearest living beings--a human on a porch and some strange child in a wierd thing... This required investigation. He lurched forward and went to circle the kiddie pool, tail swaying idly behind him.
"K-kei!?" A familiar figure approached now, a lanky green lad with worry shining in all four of his eyes. Where had his dragon run off to with the groceries? He clacked his claws uncertainly, gaze sweeping the area... And then... There was the little beast! "Kei!" He hurried into an oddly familiar yard to stand by the creature, "B-bad! Y-you can't j-just r-run off, K-kei!" The dragon eyed him halfheartedly and then snorted and sauntered off to plop into a sit and stare at the wierd boy in the strange water pool.
"I-I'm sorry i-if h-he did a-anything b-bad..." The child drooped somewhat, but then brightened as he recognised the orange boy before him, "O-oh! Hi!"

Chath was starteled to his embaressement as the dragon landed in his front yard, grovery bag still hanging from fairly pointed teeth, Chath couldn't help but back up a bit. This would be only his second time face to face with a dragon...the first was a serpent type, and had stayed pretty much away fro him.
This one looked like it wanted to get a closer look at Chath....his eyes were drawn to the grocery bag as it swung from it's heavily muscled jaws he licked his lips and slipped on the slimey bottom of the kiddie pool and fell with a splash.
With a sputter and a spit of water from his mouth he heard the dragon, now closer he could discern the scales/hide the dragon's wedge like face and gleaming eyes. Terror gripped him, to his shame, what if this thing was goign to attack? What could he do about it? How would he defend himself??
Then a familar voice sounded and the scorpian boy Chath reconized from a long time ago appeared. His fear started to fade as he realized this dragon must belong to him.
"Nero!" Chath cried out in greeting trying to shake the quiver from his voice and sound al ot more confedant than he actually felt. "Long time no see!" he continued in a rush, "Is that your dragon? He is really ...uh... intimidating!" he continued with laugh.

Nero smiled shyly and nodded, glancing down at his feet, "Y-yeah, he's m-my dragon.. H-his na-name is Kei." He glanced a set of eyes towards the nasty little creature, "U-umn.. H-he's.. Y-yeah, i-intimidating, y-you could s-say.. He's r-really naughty, t-too.." He let out an exhasperated sigh and rested his claws on his hips. "M-my d-daddy s-says he'll get b-better when w-we get older."
He tilted his head, "Wh-what'cha playin'?" He'd found out that the kiddy pool was a sort of play-place last time he had visited, and was now curious to see what new game his friend had come up with. He moved closer to the pool, extra legs folding uncertainly over his belly. They had been doing that a lot, as he found they often got in the way if he wasn't careful and sometimes frightened people.. So he kept them neatly folded in a safe place.
Kei watched the two placidly, chomping on the plastic of the bag. What was that strange thing? He lost interest in his stealings, and dropped them carelessly. He sauntered forward once more, and decided he wanted to set his fangs into the kiddie pool and see what it was made of. He chomped into the side roughly, tail waving about behind him.

Chath was very happy to see Nero, he was shy but a lot of fun once you got him into the game. "Well today I am practicing to be a super hero." he commented still dripping from his fall into the pool, his tail wgged a bit back and forth.
"Kei? That is a cool name! What kind of dragon is he?" he asked before ntoicing the dragon had dropped the bag of groceries and then headed towards teh edge of the pool. Perhaps this dragon liked water? Nope..
Chath watched his reaction a second too late as the dragon bit into the side of the blown up kiddie pool. THe sound of a POP and then the hiss of air escaping now filled the air.
"OH NO.." Chath groaned watching as the sides of the pool begin to sag the pressure of the water pushing against the sides to escape. "Wel...so much for that." he said as he stepped out of the pool and stood beside Nero.

The scorpion lad's eyes widened slightly, "A super hero?" Wow, that was cool! He smiled brightly, "W-Wow! Th-that's great.. Y-you'd b-be a good s-super hero I th-think.." He went quiet for a moment, noticing the boy look towards his dragon.
His expression grew uncertain as he turned his head to do the same, looking a little nervous, "Um.. H-he's a w-wryv-vern a-and.." CHOMP. Hissssss.
Nero took on a horrified look, "N-no, K-kei! B-bad!" His voice wavered slightly- he was rather fearful of the dragon and didn't like reprimanding him, but his caretaker insisted he do so. He shook his head and sighed, frowning, "I-I'm s-sorry... I t-told you, h-he's pretty n-naughty.."
The dragon spat as air leaked into his mouth, releasing the plastic before clawing at it irritably with his hindfoot. What a rude thing, whatever it was! He didn't like it- water came running from the pool towards him, and he let out a hiss and backed away from it. He most certainly disliked water. He eyed the thing warily, and then went back to the grocery bag, nosing around inside and chomping on the package of bread.

Chath felt a bit saddened that his pool was now....a saggy plasticy mess, but he covered his frown with a half smile. "Well i am sure it must be hard to teach a dragon to be polite." he forced a laugh, he didn't want Nero to feel bad about the pool he was outgrowing it anyway.
"You really think I would make a good superhero?" he asked turning back to his favorite subject. "I am stuck trying to figure out a name for myself." he continued his enthusiasm now back in full force the pool now forgotten.

"K-kei..." Nero sighed and gave up on whatever he was going to say, shaking his head. His dragon was.. Too much for words. And not in a good way. He looked towards the thing that was now chewing on important groceries, but figured his daddy wouldn't be too upset. It wasn't the first time Kei had gotten the better of him, after all...
He looked back to Chath as the topic was changed, his smaller set of eyes blinking curiously. He nodded vigorously, "Uh-huh. You'd b-be a good s-superhero." He clacked his claws uncertainly, resting them against the waistline of his pants. His claws got in the way just as often as his extra legs. Eck.
"Hummm... A-a n-name?" He tilted his head, pondering that for awhile. "I-I dunno... L-let's see.. Wh-what's y-your sp-special super p-power?" He rocked back and forth on his heels, "O-or, what d-do you d-do to s-save people?" That might help!

Chath had to rub his chin for a moment, "Well...so far all I can do is swim really well and grow back...limbs and stuff." He replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "But I am sure I will develope more powers when i get older." he said with a determined nod of his head.
When teh subject of what he does to save people he had to stop and think. "Well...I dunno...I have never gotten a chance to save people...it isn't like i can fly...and I am not a very fast runner.." he started to sound a bit bummed about the whole idea. But then perked up again. Hey Batman couldn't fly or run super fast, he was just a regular ol human.
"But Batman can't do those things either so i think I should try and follow his example." He said with a large grin.

"A-aquaman couldn't f-fly or anything e-either, but h-he was a s-super hero. S-some heroes a-are different f-from other ones. They're e-even more s-special.." Nero hesitated. He personally found Batman a little frightening, but for now he'd play along. "L-like Batman." He gave an enthusiastic nod.
"A-and I have n-never met s-someone w-who can re-regenerate before. That's sp-special!" He insisted, smiling warmly at the younger boy. "S-so if the b-bad g-guy gets y-you, you c-can just grow i-it back!" That was certainly unique.
"You'll p-probably s-save lots'a p-people one day, I-I'm sure. You're j-just starting, a-after all.." The scorpion lad tilted his head. "H-humn.. B-but what sh-should we c-call you..? Hmm.."

Chath brightened at the mention of aquaman. "YAH! And he can breath underwater and everything right???" He was nearly bouncing up and down with excitement, "Cause I acn breath under water too! and i am a pretty good swimmer." he continued not realizing that now he was boasting.
Chath gave a laugh, "Yah that is a pretty neat thing I can do, though it sounds kinda of scary to have happen to you anyway. I can't imagine not having an arm for a month."
He beamed as Nero encouraged him. "Yah! YOur right I am just starting out, I know I will save lots of people!" He threw his arms up into the air to indicate just how many people he was going to save.
"Yah I jsut need a really cool name." He said as he lowered his arms back to his side.

"Y-yep!" The scorpion preteen smiled happily, pleased to see he had cheered up his companion so much. He did so enjoy making people happy. Nero was quite the people-pleaser, really. He blinked, "Wow, r-really? Th-that's cool!" He didn't seem to mind the bragging. After all, his very good friend Simon was quite full of himself sometimes. Perhaps Nero was a little bit naive himself, even for his age, as there were often things he'd miss when talking to people. Like the fact they were boasting, and sometimes when people were being more snarky to him.
His smile grew to a grin as the other's enthusiasm grew, and he nodded cheerily. "I-I'm sure you w-will!" His face fell now to a look of thought. "Hmm... A-a n-name... S-something to d-do with water, m-maybe? O-or... Um... Hmm... R-regenera-ation.. O-or m-maybe..."

"well I can't be Aquaman, cause there is already a superhero with that name...um Regen man? that sounds wrong.." he muttered rubbing his chin while trying to think.
"Cha this isn't working. Too thirsty..do you want me to ask my mom to get you something?" He asked abotu to turn to shout out to his mother. "Perhaps your dragon might want something?" He conitnued not really aware of what dragons would or would not drink.

"H-hmm... The Su-super G-Generator?.." He questioned uncertainly, and then immediately shot his own idea down, "N-no... Th-that's not r-right..." He was about to go back to pondering when the boy asked him something, and he blinked, taking a moment to let the question soak in. "U-um, water w-would be n-nice.. If th-thats okay, I m-mean." He smiled.
"A-and.." He glanced towards Kei, watching as the spoiled creature rolled onto his back and snapped idly at gnats. "H-he likes ic-iced t-tea... Or ch-chocolate m-milk..." The scaly thing was rather picky, and could rarely be bribed into even touching normal water.

Chath gave a bit of a laugh, not to be mean, but Super Generator was a pretty funny name for a super hero. "How about we work on the name thing after i get some drinks." He finally managed to say with a smile.
"So water for you? and....chocolate milk for him?" Chath thought it interesting how a dragon would like chocolate milk. Very strange. But oh well.
"If you want you can come with me. I am sure my mom will get us the drinks, I just have to go tell her." he continued with another laugh, his tail swishing a bit side to side.
