Elves..Ive noticed a good bit of people on Gaia are very low on gold..and items seem to be raising in price..
do you think there will be some kind of pixelated great depression?

It's highly unlikely. Inflation is caused here by the classics of supply and demand: there are, and always will be, more people wanting items then there are items. Donation items are available for one month only. Even if everyone who wanted to have one got it that month, new users will always join, thus raising demand.
And that's um, not speaking of uber rich gaians hoarding items like woah, lessening supply even more.
There are no mechanics for an economic depression on gaia. What would or could possibly cause it. There are no real equivalents of stocks on gaia, since donation items are basically commodities, so what could people lose money on? Demand will always be there. And yeah.

although I do think the letter inflation was also caused by them starting to open them in the middle of the month and not the end. Someone made a post about it in another guild I'm in....basically there's less of a supply for sealeds because you only have two weeks to get them instead of four, and even more demand because people want to get a letter before they open, so price goes up whee

I miss being able to buy letters for 2k. I can't afford them anymore. I have to go through my inventory everytime there's a donation item I like and pick out things I could let go and sell so I can get the item. So now my inventory is shrinking.

I had trouble getting letters ever since they've moved it to the 15th. And it was then I couldn't afford it anymore.
Anyhow, I'm secretly hoping they'll come up with shitty items for a while so that I can get the items I like instead sweatdrop

They're like 11k now in vend, meaning like can be gotten for 10k in exchange, and they will drop further later in the month. Also consider the initial reaction to opening was that the didn't even rise 2k higher then the sealeds, meaning they were less then popular. I suspect a sword like reaction wouldnt be too surprsing because lots of people dont thing they're that awesome an item. Once the hype over 'oooh, a sword!' dies down. Not uber cheap, but considering that the sealeds were going for 10-11k before opening, the fact that the items are 11k is not exactly a sign that they're bound to rise like woah anytimes soon. Eh, IMO at least.
