Brest, France;
Home to the four friends- Skylar, Koichi, Kaze and Kazan- is located on the eastern most part of the country, between the english channel and the Bay of Biscay. Due east of Paris, it's a sailors -and historians- dream town with nothing but coast and historic towns. So, come and enjoy!
With a hotel near Skylar's grandfathers house- who, by the way, is an important person in the area as well as a wealthy owner of a hotel chain- it gives you a beautiful view of the sea that expands for miles; the one that seperates France from America, and France from the United Kingdom. Nothing more to say, save that her friends live relitively close; less than five minutes walk, I'd say.
"Brest, France is Denver’s first Sister City and was the second Sister City established in the United States. The relationship was born in the true spirit of people-to-people connections. It was formalized in 1948 after Denver school children, led by a local teacher, raised thousands of dollars to help rebuild the war-ravaged city.
Brest is only 4.5 hours by train and little over 1 hour by plane from Paris. Located in Brittany, one of France's most rugged regions, it is a fascinating mix of spectacular coastline, ancient towns, magical islands and inland woods. A Celtic duchy for more than one thousand years before its annexation to France in 1532, it is a land rich in culture, tradition and history. One of Brittany's main tourist attractions, this aquarium is known as the biggest open-air aquarium in Europe.

An excellent collection of Art from all of France and surrounding countries.

[wahaha. our home! indeed! We go there now ninja ]
Kaze and Kazan casually walked up behind the two of them; they'd been in Kaze's dorm getting some things. Kaze, though, was currently speaking on the phone, a pair of shades over his eyes. They stopped, Kaze's hand on his hip as he continued speaking in a rapid foreign language-french, obviously- before he removed the phone, snapping it shut, revealing a black razor. "They're expecting us," he said simply, smirking to himself at the two in front of him. "Something I should know?" he asked, arching an eyebrow as Kazan squealed lightly.
"You should speak, Kaze," Koichi said, smirking meliciously. "But... no. What would I possibly do to my sister?" he contineud on, shrugging. "Kitty, are you ready?" he asked simply, looking down at the girl in his arms. "We're going to be leaving in about... a minute, I'm guessingm" he smiled. He didn't want to explain, since she probably never traveled the way they did; and he wanted to see her expression after the travel.

Kana turned her head suddenly, glancing behind them as she sensed two approaching. She smiled as she saw it was Kaze and Kazan, but paused a she saw Kaze was talking on the phone. Her ears perked and tilted towards him as she tried to figure out what he was saying, but soon discovered that he was speaking a different language. She glanced at Koichi uncertainly, wondering if everyone else was going to be speaking French as well once they arrived. She was suddenly worried she wouldn't be able to understand anyone. But she glanced back at Kaze as he spoke, blinking at his last comment and as Kazan squealed. Her face flushed faintly red but she kept silent, just shaking her head, as she looked back up at Koichi as he replied. At his question though, she stared in confusion. "Um, yes?" she replied uncertainly, having no clue what to expect.

[oh yeah! I forgot to say; imagine Kaze... like Cloud o.O you know, with the shades and his phone xD FFVII was a good movie :nods head:]
Koichi smiled as Kazan clamped onto Kaze; he nearly rested his hand on her shoulder. The two males, who were facing each other, seemed to be smirking, have a mental battle on where they were going. Within a moment, though, their outlines turned two different colors, including the people around them; Kaze's turned a dull, tainted white while Kaze's turned a lush green. The wind started picking up around them, pulsating away from them slowly, kickin up dust into a small circle, it seemed, around them. They all started floating as Kazan's grip on Kaze's shirt tightened as she shut her eyes, preparing herself. The two of them-Kaze and Koichi- were still just smirking at each other, still battling on.

[I love that movie! I haven't seen it in english yet though, just with subtitles. xD;;]
Kana stared around, absolutely bewildered as to what was supposed to be happening. She watched Kazan latch onto Kaze though, and her hand automatically moved to clutch Koichi's shirt, her other grabbing her bag. She blinked in surprise as she saw their outlines changing color, and glanced at her arm to see hers did too. She looked back up again after, but froze as she felt the wind and then realized they weren't touching the ground any longer. Her hand clutched more tightly to his shirt, but her eyes remained wide with wonder as she stared around.

[haha. good movie. You can tell, though, it was in japanese or something first b.c they didn't change, of course, the lip syncs xD So, some words look the same, like yes and hai, but sentences get screwed up XD]
Feeling her hand against his shirt, Koichi's hand moved to hers from where it'd been near her shoulder, and rested it there reassuringly. Kaze and he were still having the battle, as a sudden sound- resembling a cannon being fired- wrang through the air. As though they were passing through solid ice in what they wore, a chill passed over all of them as lights, houses, people, oceans, lands, mountains -everything- passed by them in a blur. With a blinding light surrounding them, they stopped, being forced foward with a sudden force; Kaze and Koichi, though, kept them moraly straight. After a moment, the light started to reciede, as their feet touched the ground and Kazan suddenly let go, looking around. They appeared in a courtyard as Kaze laughed. "Looks like I won," he said simply, turning around and waving a hand limply over his shoulder as Kazan started running towards a man. He seemed to be in his late 70's, small white hairs growing from the top of his head, whiskers popping out from his upper lip, and a beard -down to his knees- sprouting from his chin. "Good to see you all again! Aren't... aren't we missing a few people?" he asked in a raspy, deep voice as he raised a hand to put around Kazan as she flung her arms around him.
Koichi sighed, placing Kaori down. He ran a hand through his hair, somewhat frustrated; they had landed at the Martin residence.
[duhduhduhhhhh.. oh wait. there's no skylar and kai. never minddd. oh, the old dude isn't the other Kaze. It's Kazan's grandpa xD]

[Haha, that'll be kinda confusing to watch. xD;;]
Kana felt him touch her hand and tried to relax, but at a sudden bang, she nearly jumped out of her skin. It echoed painfully through her ears several times as they flattened themselves against her head. She would have covered them, but she was too afraid to let go of Koichi or her bag. Her eyes were still open though as she stared at their blurring surroundings, and felt a sudden, odd chill. She shut her eyes tightly though, at the blinding light, and opened them again after a moment, blinking rapidly to regain her vision. She gradually became aware they weren't moving anymore and felt herself set upon the ground. Her legs were shaky for a moment, and she was too stunned to let go of Koichi's shirt just yet. Her ears perked after a moment as she looked up suddenly, seeming to come out of her wide eyed trance as she stared at the old man. "Wh-wha...?" she stammered, glancing back up at Koichi.
[You called Kana Kaori. xD;; But yeah, no Skylar or Kai. xP]

[seriously?! I've been trying not to do that >< it's because i'm talking to you, and i'm used to calling you kaori >< damn it]
Koichi just chuckled and looped his arms in hers so she wouldn't fall, and started walking towards the old man. "He's talking about a few others that we thought would have come... but I guess they couldn't make it," he said, shrugging; he was fine with it, personally. He really, really, didn't want to see Kai. "Mr.Koe," he said softly, bowing in front of the man, "it's a pleasure to see you again. This is Kana," he said, holding the hand that wasn't looped with Kana's and placing it across his chest, his fingers pointing towards Kana. "I invited her along. I hope it will bring no trouble." The old man shook his head and smiled softly at Kana. "It's nice to meet you, younge lady," he said in that raspy voice, his eyes gentle and old, although showing years of wisdom in their depth. He chuckled lightly, though. "Just be lucky I'm one of the few that don't quite speak fluent french around here," he said comfortingly, as though to assure her she was safe.

Kana blinked, trying to regain her senses as she trailed along after Koichi, almost stumbling once or twice. She blinked as he bowed to the older man and quickly did so as well, not wishing to be rude. But she glanced up again as he spoke and she was introduced. "I-It's nice to meet you too," she nodded, still shaken up from how they'd arrived. She still didn't understand what had happened. What did Kaze mean when he'd said he won? She nodded at the man's last comment though, and a smile finally made it to her face. "Yes," she said, nodding her head. She had been afraid of that, and was glad to find others spoke english as well. She'd never been to a foreign country before. She began glancing around, ears tilting in random directions as her tail swayed behind her.

Kaze glanced behind him, Kazan and he already starting down the corridor. "Hurry up you two. You're so slow!" he called out to them, waving a hand to motion them to come along. "Vous avez ici! Vous avez ici!" cried a voice as a lady started up to them. She curtsied before starting past Kaze and Kazan, making her way quickly over to Koichi and Kana. Within moments, Koichi had stopped; he was stuck with his face on the ladies colar bone. "Tu ma manques!" the ladie cried, her arms around Koichi; she was just a little shorter than him, dark brunette hair and stricking emerald eyes. She was clad in a pink and white dress, trimmed in a golden-like ribbon, and seemed to be wearing sparkly, pink lipstick as well as some light eyeshadow; she seemed pretty young, though. She stopped her commotion as she noticed Kana though, and peered over at her, somewhat confused, although her eyes and grown slightly wide and blinked a few times before she smiled at Kana. "Bonjour! Qui etes-vous?" she asked, continuing to look at Kana in a state of confusion, although sweet and happy at the same time.
[wahaha. who's that lady, kaori? it's fairly easy. that's bad french, by the way xD]

Kana snapped back to attention, eyes finding Kaze as he yelled out to them. But she stood still, a bit too nervous to want to wander away from Koichi. And also, because she realized soon after Kaze had spoken, that a woman was making her way to them. She blinked as she cried out in french, her ears perking uselessly, since she wouldn't understand no matter what. She froze, stepping back uncertainly as the woman threw her arms around Koichi before turning her attention to her. Kana blinked back, tilting her head in total confusion. She had no idea what to do or say, so she kept silent, eyes darting between Koichi and the woman as her tail curled around her waist.
[Koichi's mother? o.o Haha, I wouldn't know. I know bonjour is hello or something, but that's it. xP]

Koichi's face was turning slightly red from where it was, although his eyes were closed in a mixutre of embarrassment and anger. "Elle ne parle pas francais, madam Demure," Kaze called out to her; both Kazan and he had turned to watch the scene. "No anglash?" she said in bad english, slightly uncertain as she released Koichi who fell backwards onto the floor, breathing in deeply for oxygen. "Nice meet you, yes? What's name?" she asked sweetly, bending down just slightly-about an inch or two- with her hands on her knees as she smiled at Kana. She was, more or less smart, but english wasn't her specialty; they were all happy enough she even knew how to speak it, even if it was choppy and badly spoken. Koichi, finally having caught his breath, pushed himself up and laughed softly, looking over at Kana, his arms crossed; just the way she looked now made him smile.

Kana blinked at Koichi, still completely bewildered and clutching her bag tightly as if that helped. She glanced between everyone present, jumping slightly as Koichi toppled backwards to the ground. But before she could say anything to him, the woman had turned her attention to her. "Um, nice to meet you too," Kana said, bowing her head. "My name is Kana." She wasn't positive if the woman would understand her clearly, but she didn't want to belittle her by speaking slowly or anything if she really did understand. Though, she felt a little odd as the woman bent slightly to face her better. Even still, she returned the woman's smile with one of her own as soon as she raised her head from the bow. She glanced at Koichi out of the corner of her eye, ears twitching as she heard him laugh.

The lady smiled at Kana before standing back up, her hands on her hips. She looked Kana up and down, a small smile on her face. "Elle est belle!" she squealed, twirling in a circle, her hands clasped together, her cheek resting against it as though she were above a pillow and was about to go to sleep. "Meet you is nice, yes," she smiled; she understood perfecty, but it was still her english that was bad. "Koichi, Kaze," she said, suddenly become serious as she turned to the two boys, "Diner va avoir dix-neuf heurs moin quart," she said before smiling at Kazan. She turned once again, lifting up a part of her dress before she gave a small curtse once again, this time to Kana. "I see later," she said in her broken english, smiling sweetly at Kana before she rushed off back the way she'd come. Koichi just sighed, running a hand through his hair.

Kana watched as she straightened, blinking as she said something in french again. This was exactly what she'd been afraid of. Well... not exactly. At least she understood, it seemed. But it was a bit difficult for Kana to comprehend in return. Her eyes followed as she turned to face Koichi and Kaze, and she heard her say their names as well, but lost it after that. Then she turned and curtsied, and Kana bowed her head instinctively in return before raising it to watch the woman depart. "Ok," she replied slowly and then glanced back at Koichi. Ack, what am I doing here? she thought uncertainly. And what was she going to be doing for the next week or two? She pulled one hand from her bag and instead clasped her locket, as if that gave her comfort.
