It was the first time that she'd been up to Pride Rock. She'd made lots of plans to go with her best friend, Ezeoha, but so far they hadn't found time. Mosi was growing tired of waiting and found herself easing towards Pride Rock that afternoon. Wow... it was a lot larger up close than she thought.
"Wow....." She whispered, small form slowing to an awestruck pace.

Near the outer edges of the rock were quite small formations, a place where even a few caves could be discovered if one searched hard enough. While most lions of the pride were content with the large rock as their home, and others moreso with dens littering the grassy hills, that was not true for all. For a pair of lions always resided in the darker dens of the lands, the lower ones where it was said Taka settled before he disappeared. Palesa always lived there, but her partner had changed from one male to her new friend, Na-be.
"Na, I am going out..." The lioness whispered, voice echoing the light breeze that ventured through the rocks, before her form waddled out into the light. Clearly carrying, though not as big of a litter as most, Palesa was near birth time with three amazing cubs, though she had no idea of the number yet. Instead, she just went through her days moving, as much as she could given her condition, and today was like all the others. Slowly, she made her way towards the larger rocks, though only to find the ledges easiest for her to scale with the extra weight.

Mosi was able to make out a green figure up ahead, scaling the rocks. She didn't recognize anyone with a pelt like that, having only met a select few members of the pride outside of her family. Well alright then!
She didn't want to alarm the other, she didn't look very balanced like mom...
The black and white pelted cub began climbing the slope once she reached Pride Rock, easily picking out Ezeoha's scent among the others, a lot of adults... a few cubs... making her way around to where Palsea was approaching.
"Hello...?"

Pausing at the sight of the dark raven cub, who seemed quite larger than most of the newborns, Palesa caught her breath from her scaling, and settled down upon her haunches.
"Hello there..." Once more, her tone was soft and airy, a true tone of a wanderer filled with knowlage and expirences. She knew there was no need to speak up, so she held just above a whisper and knew that the cub would listen well.
Why else would she want to talk.
"You must be a Pridelander, I am Palesa..."

"Yeah. I'm Mosi," She smiled, approaching closer to the adult. She stopped upon reaching the other and settled on her haunches, curling her tail about her paws. "It's nice to meet you, Palsea." Grinned the cub. "Do you live on Pride Rock? It's my first time being up here."

Smiling softly in return to the greeting, Palesa just settled for a moment in silence before the question was asked. Ears perking lightly, she glanced twards the cub and blinked a moment, before her small smile grew a few inches.
"Why yes, I live with a friend in one of the smaller dens..." She nodded after that, before moving down to lay on her belly and relax her weight, "It is your first time? Than I take it you have yet to see the sight from the platform near the royal dens? If you stand up there, you can see almost every inch of our Pridelands."

"It's the first time I got this far away from home. Usually dad would've tracked me down by now."
She seemed amused by this, if the smirk was any sign. Her eyes then drifted curiously towards Palsea's larger middle. She really didn't mean to stare, but even if she had she wouldn't think it rude with her parental influences being as blunt as they were. Something felt odd about the situation, and somehow she didn't think that Palsea was just overweight.
"Are you going to have cubs soon?" She asked curiously, narrowing her eyes as she seemed to be thinking hard over something. A memory of an argument her parents had...

Nodding slowly at the question, she moved to stand once more, and chuckled lightly as well, "Yes, quite soon with how far along I am...now Mosi, I need my exercize, so would you like to come with me to visit the platform, I would like to listen to the winds today and there is no better spot save for the top of Pride rock..."
Pausing, she added on in an afterthought, "And you can always explain to your father that you were with an adult, I am sure he won't be able to get angry about that. Or you just might not tell him, and I won't either." Smiling, she padded past the cub, and paused to see if she would want to follow.

Mosi grinned. She decidedly, definitely liked this adult.
The cub got to her paws again and waited for Palsea to lead the way, letting her speak on even as she fell into step beside her. There was one point that drew a confused raising of Mosi's eyebrow, though.
"Listen to the winds? What d'you mean?"

Palesa smiled at the question, and continued to keep her steps slow and drawn out. Her ears perked as she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and listening to how the winds brushed against the rock formation around them.
"It is a hard task indeed, but the winds guide our souls, they help direct us the way we are needed. It is rare that anyone follows the winds, but for a long time, I did, and it led me all over the world. I traveled with the breeze and discovered creatures of amazing qualities. I made way through the forests, the jungles, across the desert, and through the mountains."
She trailed off as they slowly neared the 'steps' up towards the platform, "If you let the winds ruffle your pelt, they will style it a natural way, and make it shine beautifully. If you let the winds guilde your feet, you will be gifted with the knowlage of the world, having seen it all on a tour from the gods..."

Mosi seemed rivited. Her parents, having been rogues, often had stories to tell about their travels but they never really seemed to follow any one thing or guide. They just.... traveled in a general direction, it sounded like. It sounded like a kind of life she'd love to live by someday.
"So... how did you end up deciding to stay here?" She asked curiously, hopping up the steps with youthful-energy.

"The winds here are different," Palesa started, padding up and letting Mosi take the lead, "They don't guide one way or the other...and as you will see when we arrive up top of this rock, the winds change and swrill, demanding one stay here. They surround you, and protect you, just as the Pride is protected here and always safe..."
She smiled at how interested Mosi was, and knew she would love the view as well as the story, "Have you ever wondered just why this place is so peaceful?"

"Different..." Mosi repeated, moving along with an expression of thoughtful awe. The way that the older female described them did fascinate young Mosi. She'd never thought much of the wind, but hearing Palsea speak it seemed to make sense, the wind almost seemed alive the way that she spoke. Would she ever get to experience these other winds that Palsea spoke of? "I always figured it was just because nothing ever happened here." She said half truthfully.

Palesa let out a laugh, a soft airy laugh, before padding around and settling on the top step with a thoughtful look in her brown eyes. Looking around at the silent plateu, she was pleased to see the two would have their peace, and glanced towards her younger friend.
"Things do happen here...us adults just want you cubs to feel safe...dark things have happened...let me tell you..." Padding towards the edge of the long rock, she just spoke in soft whispers, incase of any ears.
"A god once attacked my...mate...as well as myself. The creature was large, ruthless, and demanded I show him where my mate was. He chased after my mate, but as soon as they reached the rock, the god could not touch it. Being the god of war, he couldn't touch a place filled with peace, where the winds rose to protect this land with an invisible barrier. Peace is a strong power, and because it is so...well peaceful, it can appear to be as if nothing is happening. When in essence, it is making sure nothing happens by forcing it all away. That is how safe these lands are."

Mosi took in the testimony with wide eyes. A god? What was that? Sounded nasty...
Not surprisingly her thoughts went back to the Ratel that had attacked she and her friend, and pictured it larger, and with big claws.
.... This god thing sounded like one ugly creature.
"Why did he attack you? What was his problem? He sounds like a real a**hole." Mosi growled.
