I need some feedback on my artwork. I have an art auction going in the R&C Auctions forum, but it's not doing so well.
In all honesty, none of my auctions have done very well. D:
What do you think would pull in more money when it comes to my artwork? I'm hoping there's a reason other than that it's not anime-styled. Please leave all feedback in this thread, and not my auction thread, please.
Thanks...!

Your art is very cool and stylish, so the only reason I can see is that most Gaians plain prefer CG. I know it's a terrible thing to say, but I've frequented the R&C Auctions quite often, and it's usually the nicely done CGs that sell well. Most people like colour best, I suppose. x3
You could have a go at having maybe a pencil crayon or watercolour auction and see how you do. Or maybe nice clean black lineart with dabs of colour here and there.
I know I find colourful artwork a lot more appealing to buy.

I've never really been talented with CG. I don't wn a tablet, but I can (somewhat crudely) color in Photoshop. The problem is, I have to make one first~ xd

XD I think strictly pencilled works gives off a non-completed vibe most of the time. So some nice black lineart and your choice of coloured media would be pretty cool. :3

Like, it ends up looking like a sketch? I really appreciate all your advice. heart

Don't be lazy ~ If you practice coloring (either traditionally or digitally) I'm sure your skills will improve and your auctions will be bid on more!

yeah, it's partly because it's pencil/uncolored work, but also, the whole auction thing isn't helping.
i think the best thing to do would be to stay away from auctions and open a small shop, even if it just has 1 slot at a time. people browse the r&c more than the auctions subforum.
the main reason you aren't getting bids is bc you don't have a large fanbase here on gaia, there are tons of people here who don't purchase anime art or like things other than just typical anime. if you had a shop then had an auction in the future, the people who frequent your shop or have been stalking it for slots will definately bid.
if you don't like to color, you can try and find a partner and collaborate with them cool

I share your pain. I share it to a gut-wrenching degree. My auctions can't pull over 25k, and even that's a hassle - when most of my Gaia friends say I should be charging that or more for regular, non-auction quality images.
Gaia's just not the audience for that kind of thing. You'd have to get really popular - you know, cultivate an audience.
