The Roleplay Contest

I have never organised a phantom RP before, let alone a contest but I want to see how this turns out.

The idea is that I post a starter for an RP and people sign up to RP. There will be as many groups as necessary but all will have the same number of characters. Signups will be open as long as necessary, if someone will be away by the time this opens let me know the dates and we can work around it.

The prizes have yet to be determined and the teams have yet to be decided. We need at least two teams, preferably three. For now I'm looking for people who are interested. This will work in teams of two for speed and simplicity.

The judging will be handled by the popular vote, you are allowed to vote for your own team. The winners will be decided by which group came up with the most interesting plot. I will add the poll to this thread once the contest has ended.


About:

I will start a new topic for each team when the RP officially begins. They will be allowed to RP for a selected number of pages (to make sure they're all similar in length) and then the contest will end and voting will begin.

Please remember that this must stay within Gaia's ToS so keep the sequences PG-13 (I won't harshly enforce this, just as long as I don't have to give you a warning for gratuitous sex or violence. Basically use some sort of discretion).

To sign up please state who you'd like to roleplay as and if you have a partner in mind. Make sure that if you have a partner that they've actually agreed to do this as well. The teams will all start with the same introduction plot.


The Plot:

Christine has returned to the house by the lake to give Erik one last proper goodbye after all of the events have blown over. She is now engaged to Raoul and Erik is alone and awaiting death. Christine and Raoul plan to live in Sweden.

Christine has entered the house and is standing face to face with Erik, who is hidden behind his black mask. They stand in awkward silence for a brief moment, each awaiting the other's greeting.

This plot is slightly AU (alternate universe) to the original novel. Erik's appearance is up to you; if you've never read the book that's okay.

Hello. This sounds like an interesting idea, so I'll give it a shot and hopefully meet some other great Phantom RPers out there. It seems to be a great challenge and opportunity, so count me in. whee

I would like to join a team as Erik, and, no, I do not have a partner in mind. I want to be pleasantly suprised. Tell me, is this based on Susan Kay, ALW's musical, Leroux's novel, or do you care? Is it our choice to pick?
