-Peeking in another door, Remus gave a soft sigh as another very empty room lie before him. He'd been looking for someone to play with, and Iris had told him that the castle was often full of children. But it seemed today was just not his day.
Well, oh well. Another day then! Spotting a comfy looking couch in the large open room before him, he head over, pushing his book lightly across the cushions, before he pulled himself up, settling out comfortably.
Flipping open the pages, he searched with his finger lightly for the place he'd stopped before, intent on getting a little bit of learning out of the day, if he wasn't going to get any playing.-

Maleficent polished the stone on the top of her staff and looked into it. The smoke that swirled inside was a white-green, a more contented color.
It always seemed to go a cloudy green when she was around Jubilee. That girl was just so darn cheerful and it annoyed her.
As she walked down the hallway, she glanced around. Hmm, no one was here. Now would be a perfect time to test some magic. Even though she couldn't stand Jubilee, she had to admit, the girl knew how to train, and had given Mal some pointers. Maleficent picked a door and held the staff in front of her, concentrating on the door.
The door creaked slightly, and she lost her concentration, then sighed. Oh well. It was a start.
She pushed to door open the rest of the way and walked into the room, intent on practicing some more when she noticed the young boy on the couch.
"Oh, pardon me," she said flatly, about to turn away.

-It is thought that Stonehedge is the powerpoint of the Earth's magiks. Being placed at the center, in which the lines of all other powerpoints lead, it is a point of great mystery and mystism. Hence why once a year people gather to celebrate around the ancient structure. Remus' eyes were transfixed on the words, hardly noticing the door as it began it's almost silent swing. However when words touched the air, his eyes snapped up immediately, a soft grin touching his face at the welcomed intrusion.
Eyes taking in the sight of the girl more readily, he found himself almost bubbling with joy. In her hand was something he knew quite well, a staff just like the ones he'd seen in those books, and he absently shut his book with a snap, pushing himself off the couch. Despite his soft tone, his excitement was evident as he made his way towards her.- "Oh it's no trouble! Is that a staff you have? You must be a witch then, yes?" -Ohhhhh how exciting it would be if he'd stumbled upon another person interested in the subject of magic! As of yet neither Iris or Marian had seemed very apt to it.-

The small hand gripping the staff tightened as the boy's eyes lit up. Oh no, was he another one of the 'cheery' ones? She breathed out heavily. "Dark fae," she said dryly, as he finished talking.
She tilted her head to the side. "Why is that so exciting for you?" she asked curiously. Certainly, it had never made anyone else that enthused. Her sister had the crystal, Jubilee had her sparks. Who knew what the little critter did.

"Dark faerie..." -He logged the thought into the back of his mind, intent on doing a little research on the term when he got home.-
-His excitment cooled a little with the cold greeting, and he smiled a little sheepishly, apologetically rubbing his head against the back of his hand. Apprently he was going to have to try and keep his excitement checked if he didn't want to scare her off.- "Ohh.. I'm sorry."
"I just.. kinda like this magic stuff. I've been reading up on it and all, and you're the first person I've seen in awhile that seems even remotely interested in it."

"Oh, I see.." she said, shifting the staff from hand to hand. She looked the boy up and down. He was slightly taller then her and his hair was a light color. He was a lot more lanky then most of the boys she had seen around the Kingdom.
"Why are you so interested in magic?" She looked at him with slight interest. "Can you...do magic?" Kida had her magic, but it had never been close enough to hers to be useful. Maybe this strange boys worked the same way. If he was magical, that was.

-He almost gained a blush at the inspection, but soon his smile creeped back. He skipped over the first question, hoping she wouldn't go back to it. He hated to lie.. but really.. the reasoning behind it wasn't something you went around telling people. Not if he wanted them to like him.. and be his friend.- "Well, only little stuff right now. But I've got all these books, and I'm learning new spells all the time."
-Digging into his robe, he pulled out his wand, showing it to her, before holding it out.- "Simple stuff like this so far."
"Lumos" -The wand in his hand began to glow faintly and as he whispered something else, the light went out.-
-Grinning a little he tried something else, touching the wand to his throat.- "Sonorus"
"It makes sounds louder!" -And indeed it did, his voice booming through the room as if he were yelling.-

Maleficent hid how impressed she was with a dark glower. She couldn't even push open the door and here this boy had just shown her two spells without flinching!
Her staff clattered to the floor and her hands flew to her ears as the boys voice was amplified. "That's ...great..." Maleficent wrinkled her nose. "How do you turn it off?"

"Quietus" -He whispered the word as best he could, testing his voice with a little cough to make sure it had worked. Last time it hadn't, and he'd spent half the day trying to figure out how to turn it down again.
But thankfully this time it worked, and he offered another apologetic smile. Oblivious to the inner thoughts of the girl, he was under the impression that she was better, more experienced then him. Slipping his wand back into his robe, he reached down to try and pick her staff up off the floor, offering softly.- "I'm sure you can do lots more exciting things then that though?"

She took the offered staff, restraining herself from grabbing it out of his hands. Maleficent rubbed the orb on the top, as the green smoke reappeared in it, now cloudy. Obviously what he had said had gotten to her.
"No," she said, her lip curling. She turned away and climbed up onto the couch, a bit of a struggle for her, as she was so small. "I can't do anything. Yet."
Oh, but she would.

"I'm sorry!" -It seemed to be his catch phrase ever since that day in the past. He didn't know how he always got so much SO wrong, but now he was almost in tears, debating whether or not to follow after her.
And he did, coming closer, but not all the way to the couch, shoulders sagging forward.- "I just thought..."
"M.. Maybe we can learn together?"
"I've got lots of books and.. two heads are better then one?"

"Quit saying your sorry," she said irritably. "That's just silly to be sorry all the time."
She tried not to feel too pleased with herself that he seemed on the verge of tears.
Her ears perked up, books, huh? It couldn't hurt, and having someone to work with could really help her learn.
"Lets see these books, then.." she picked up one next to her on the couch and flipped through it, then blushed. Err...she forgot. She couldn't really read. She snapped the book shut.
"Looks like junk to me," she said harshly, then took a breath. "But...they could be useful." She really didn't want to make him cry, she just...couldn't help being mean sometimes.

-He bit his lip to keep back the 'Sorry' that tried to spill from it at her scolding. He offered his opinion softly, barely over a whisper- "When you do things wrong all the time, it's appropriate and polite."
-He cringed with the snap of the book, and the harsh words, but when she added that little bit to the end, he nodded some, shoving up a bit of a smile.- "If we could find a good teacher, then we wouldn't have to worry about books. But until then, I'm going to practice with the books."
"Do you know anyone else who does magic?"

Maleficent made a low growling noise in the back of her throat. "Who told you you do things wrong all the time?" He was a bit strange, but certainly hadn't done anything actually wrong. He had said something that annoyed her, but most things that cheerful people said annoyed her, so he shouldn't be sorry.
She coughed nervously. "I...don't know anyone...personally." She knew OF someone. And she was very very loathe to ask the favor of an introduction from her sister.

"Lots of people. I'm kind of clumsy." -Well THAT was a lie. But it was better then 'I'm kind of a werewolf' or 'I try to slaughter people during the fullmoon'.
Crossing his arms before him, he scratched his chin lightly before replying optimistically.- "Well I'm sure we'll find one eventually!"
"Miss Iris said that there are tons of people who visit here. Someones must know some."
