(( Note, this is a bit of a timewarp backwards in the current plotline with Kijibwa XD It's before he left the pridelands. ))

Kijibwa is taking a last look around the area-before-the-borders of the Pridelands before he and Siku get far enough to really start discussing their plans for getting through the desert, which he'd recently discovered have nasty red beasts in them that are probably best to avoid. With a smile on his face, however, he stretches out and walks leisurely through the grass.

It's nighttime, though the sky is clear and the moon is shining quite brightly. It's hardly difficult to see out, and though the black lion doesn't stand out so well in the grass he makes no effort to stay hidden.

(( Next part for Amoret [after her cub runs off], because SOMEONE HASN'T BEEN ROLEPLAYING HER ENOUGH. ))

Amoret, however, was very well built for sneaking around in the dirt and grasses, though didn't notice the other lion until she was right on top of him. Her wanderlust had been acting up more than usual lately, and it had not caused her happiness.

Really, the only thing that it did was get her into trouble, and now was a prime example of it.

No sounds reach Kijibwa's ear, no sights reach his eyes. What gives away the lioness is the faint scent, something the lion would normally pay no attention to, or even really notice- but there's something familier about it. His walking stops and he lifts his head curiously, sniffing at the air.

"Hm," he murmurs, turning around. He can't see anything right away, so he keeps turning his head- looking for the source of the smell.

Crouching low to the ground and pinning her ears flat against her head, she stays motionless, hoping that the other didn't see her. Just what she needed was to be caught on someone else's lands.

Kijibwa does a full turn around, then stops and tilts his head at the horizon. He's sure he could smell something, and not something that was old and lingering. He shrugs, deciding he probably just imagined it, and then he stretches out and lays down in the grass. He looks up at the sky peacefully, smiling.

However, subconsciously, he does stay more aware of his surroundings, hoping to prove he wasn't imagining the scent. It's not a bad one, it's something good, calming.. but he can't place it.

Crawling back a few feet, Amoret pivots her ears and takes in a deep breath, finally placing what the smell was. It was something she vaguely recognized, vaguely knew...

But yet, it seemed so long ago.

It was then that she decided to rise, making the smallest of sound possible to alert the other that she was there.

Kijibwa's eyes stay on the stars, but his ears turn at a quiet sound. Quiet as it is, it's out of place enough for him to notice it. He takes a second to marvel at the fact he noticed something, then he looks back down from the skies and to around him.

"Who's there?" he calls out quietly, his tone is quite friendly. Between the scent and his usual naivety, he sees no reason to be concerned with whatever it is that's out there.

Glancing to the side, the lioness let out a small huff, merely exhaling her breath. "I ... am merely a wanderer. Forgive me for trespassing on your lands."

Kijibwa finally spots the lioness when she speaks up, though he can't get a very good look at her. He gets to his feet and takes a couple steps towards her, "My lands? These aren't my lands, I think it's just free land. Border of the Pridelands, maybe.."

He pauses his stepping to take a look around, nodding. They aren't too far away from the Pridelands yet.

"I'm Kijibwa," he introduces himself, looking back at her and still trying to figure out the safe and familier feeling, "Do you have a name, wanderer?"

"Kiji...?" Amoret couldn't keep the smile from appearing on her face. "I'm curious; do you still hunt well?" Her laughter couldn't be stifled anymore.

Kiji raises an eyebrow when Amoret says his nickname, and laughs at him. His hunting? What did that have to do with anything? Then it hits him like a ton of bricks- the safe, familier feeling..

"Amoret?" he asks, sounding rather surprised- especially because he manages to recall her name.

"In both spirit and flesh, I must say," Amoret purrs, tilting her head to the side. "You look good. I haven't seen you in forever..."

With the confirmation of the lioness' identity, Kijibwa laughs and jogs his way through the tall grass over to her happily. He can't help but give her a friendly (but fuzzy) nuzzle as a greeting, thoroughly pleased to have found her again.

"You look good too," he murmurs, "Much the same as I remember! Why are you all the way out here?" Despite having seen her so rarely in the Jungle, he can't help but associate Amoret with that area- it just seems to unlikely to him that they would stumble across one another here and not there.
