Preventer fanfiction
I recently joined this guild but didn't realize that most of the posts are about the series. I read a lot fanfiction and I prefer well written with a plot. It seems that most of the members prefer to read het. I like anything except death fics (only found two I liked so far).
I'm starting this thread to share my favorite Preventer fics and I hope you can all share some with me. Please be sure to label them with any warnings that apply and a short synopsis.
The Purgatory Arc by Koyote (6x2ml.cbj.net)
Bi/yaoi ? nothing ever really happens other than cuddling. It's only implied. Basically a story about three lonely people who all think their going crazy then find out they really do have psychic abilities. The really fun part is it's Duo, Zechs, and Dorothy. They end up working together to learn to use their abilities. Une (who also may have abilities that would explain her mental problems) actually has them set up the first Preventer's Homicide Division. There are plots (plural) and lots of well written repartee.
Doro to Duo-
"You do know that those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others?"
"Yeah. But I don't like my house much."
Trieze to Zechs-
'Time is irrelevant to the dead...."
"Treize..."
'You know, you take all the fun out of being dead,' Treize grumbled. 'Scaring the crap out of people and being cryptic are part of the job description, you know.'
Zechs to Duo and Doro-
"I can't think of anything you would sense in my apartment, I don't have much that has sentimental value..." He broke off suddenly. "Oh. s**t."
Duo peeked at him, and sighed. "Um...yeah. That would be.... Why I asked about Treize. I... wasn't sure I believed you guys...were.... Um...." He coughed.
"What am I missing here... oh, you guys didn't...."
"Apparently, sex is also a strong emotion." Duo winced, and looked back down. Zechs felt as though his face was on fire.
Forcing himself to sound casual was easier when he caught sight of the expression on Treize's face, since it took all of his concentration not to start laughing. "You know... I think this has to be the first time I've ever seen him blush."
"Great, I've even managed to embarrass the dead. Now do you see why I didn't want to tell you guys this?"
"Damn, Duo... I'll trade you." Dorothy scowled. "Bet it was pretty interesting watching though, huh?"
Duo covered his face again, though he was finally starting to see the humor in the situation. "You're the one with the link to Epyon. Ask it to fix this... or switch things. Then I could talk to Solo, you could play voyeur and Zechs could... um...try not to touch anything."
"Don't think it works that way." She sighed. "I suppose that means you want the couch from now on?"
"I don't think it would help." Duo couldn't help grinning at the look on Zechs face.
"The couch too?" Dorothy couldn't smother the laughter any longer. "And you have been letting me sleep on it? Zechs...!"
There is laughter, pain, several murder mysteries, angst and camaraderie. The first part is complete and a short opening story. The second part is incomplete but the first murder mystery is solved and it's doesn't leave you hanging (too much, not 'mid colony exploding'...).
This post ran longer than I expected so I will save the other recs for next time.
P.S. Can't resist one that has no warnings other than violence.

I gotta be honest: I never read fanfiction with prominent original characters. 99% of the time, it's bad author avatism, and I read more than enough of those in my three-odd years as a MSTer. When I read Gundam Wing fanfics, it's to see what Heero, Duo, and the others are up to, not Duo's twin sister Duet who's perfect in every way and insults Relena at every turn. Hee... I need to get writing, and create a prominent original character that Void likes. Actually, maybe I'll write for that purpose alone >_>. Original characters are nice - in some situations, using only the characters from the show can take away from the story, especially when it involves constantly reviving the same dead villains over and over and over. Its quite natural to believe that new people would become involved in the lives of those that are already there, just as in real life.
On the other hand, there are some REALLY annoying original characters who make me want to take a torch to the author. Or maybe a chainsaw. Or a flaming chainsaw sword. Or something like that... (Actually, I read an SJ manga preview for Zombie Powder where the main character carries a chainsaw sword thingy... though it's not on fire.)

Purgatory Arc is set in the normal time line and has no original characters until the second part. Even then it is a minor character. It would probably not even be a AU since the abilities are a side effect of using Epyon.(Oops just gave away some plot.) The sidekick in the Sunhawk story is Hilde, it's told from her point of view about the other pilots. Try them I think you will enjoy them.

Hm...I have lots of friends who are into fanfiction but I've never been able to get into it. For one thing, if I read any it would be GW, however, the GW fanfictions can some of the dirtiest of the lot, and also tend to be anti-Relena, which is hard for me to mush through. Also, people often put the characters in situations or have them say things that are so completely out of character that it drives me nuts. It can kind of ruin GW for me.
If anyone knows a good fanfiction that is consistent with the anime and Episode Zero, however, please let me know. When I have time, I'll check out yours.

I used to write A LOT of fanfiction and most of it takes place within the Preventer Agency, which I see as the natural continuation of the Gundam Wing storyline. Most of the writers on my website also use that scenario for their fiction as well and I highly recommend them! Check us all out ^_^ http://spysilencer.net

Try Blissful Ignorance; it's a website devoted to heterosexual GW fanfiction - not just the "main" couples, but alternative couples such as 1xH or 5xC. All the stories I've seen there are well-written, with quite a few clever ones, but a few that are fluffy WAFF-types. www.blissfulignorance.com

Void-kun!! Do you know if there are any Wufei/Meiran pairings on that site or what category it would be in? I can't find them where I'm looking and I think I'm looking in the wrong place. If I can find that pairing that place will be heaven for me for a while with all the good pairings I've found.

Though still, I think it says something that one of the fanfics there has Relena as a prostitute and I'm not TOO bothered by it, since it was pulled off in an understandable fashion (lost her family, it was her only way to survive, she hasn't "done" anything up until she meets Heero, etc).

Though still, I think it says something that one of the fanfics there has Relena as a prostitute and I'm not TOO bothered by it, since it was pulled off in an understandable fashion (lost her family, it was her only way to survive, she hasn't "done" anything up until she meets Heero, etc). Not too surprisingly, right after I posted that I found one under the alternate pairings. Which makes me mad. It's CANON!! scream That bugs me.
