origonally I did with all of my anime, but now I do with most but not all. For instance, I now have chobits, berserk, tenchi muyo!, tenchi universe, tenchi in tokyo, and s-CRY-ed in dual audio so I usually watch them in english if the audio defaults to english.

I love watching anime in Japanese. I especially like it if it's already subtitled in English, like on my Tenchi Forever VHS. Saves the hassle of going through options menus. biggrin

I like to watch me anime in Japanese, simply because the japanese w/ subtitles is so much funnier than the english. take Shaman King for example, in the japanese version, Trey's name is Horohoro, and there are so many jokes that come out of that name. but in the english, they changed it to TREY. WHY!?!? domokun

I don't know; I liked Horohoro better. Oh, and I usually watch my anime in both languages, English first unless there are subtitles.

I watch mine in Japanese with subtitles- or just raw Japanese. I have alot of fansubbed anime just because I don't like the dubs at all. The English voice actors get to me, and usually too much gets changed and messed with. I much prefer original Japanese episodes that are subbed to American-released anime that's marketed as unedited with the Japanese version on it. There's usually some editing on those anyway. -_-;

All of my anime i watch in Japanese with English subtitles. Though I must admit some of my anime i first got into that I still watch today, I watch in English. Usually I watch a series in whatever lanuage i watch it in first. Though I prefer to watch it in Japanese over English.

Naru watches both for the immersion, as well as for the unaltered humor. Also, watching in Nihongo allows you to better understand the relationships between characters from the use of honorifics

it's hard to really learn Japanese from Anime. I've picked up
a few words here and there, but there's alot of slang so it's hard to
accualy learn anything. tho you do learn alot of colorfull terms xd

I watch my anime in Japanese with English subtitles whenever possible. I've found that way too many things are cut out in the dubbing process, especially cultural jokes/references. I like cultural jokes. Not only this, but as was said, you can get a better feel for the characters because of what type of language is being used, honorifics, etc. I also just enjoy hearing Japanese, especially since I'm starting to pick up on a lot of things.

I'm a Sailor Moon fan and as if the dubs weren't bad enough to begin with (which they were, believe me...), after they made "Amara" and "Michelle" into COUSINS in Super S I just couldn't stand it anymore. Since then I've pretty much only watched subbed.

ya, the whole "cousins" thing realy pissed me off. i mean cousins don't act
like that... maybe like in Kuntucky or something but come on stare
i like the Japanese version because it sounds betterand you get to watch it unedited. i hate how they change it to suit and american audiance and when
they dumb it down for little kids xp
