-A soft and contented sigh escaped from the vulpine's lips as she her ears caught the satisfying THWAMP of wood splitting. Resting delicately upon the weight of the castle wall, Marian drew back another arrow, her last actually, before letting it sail forward, cutting through the air as it made it's way towards the arrow filled stem in the distance.
She hadn't really came looking for anything today, and no important thoughts rested upon her mind. She simply enjoyed the warm summer sun, and the soft breeze that wafted through the castle gardens.
As the last arrow landed it's mark, she settled her bow on the ground, making her way out to the tree, to collect her arrows once again.-

Lexington flew through the skies, heading towards the castle, with nothing better to do than enjoy the feel of the breeze underneath him. The sun was getting a little warm, so he decided to land on a tree to rest for a bit before carrying on.
Unfortunately, he still hadn't quite gotten the landing-thing right yet. Lex missed the branch he was aiming for completely, and crashed downwards, landing in a tangled heap of arms, wings and legs on the grass.
Luckily, it was a soft landing.

-Marian nearly jumped as not far before her, shooting out of the sky or rather falling it seemed, came some strange green alien thing. Startled silent for a moment, she gritted her teeth, before taking a soft step forward, calling out. It WAS smaller then her after all.
Unless it had some super duper laser weapon it was hiding, she could take it. And with that little crash, she somehow doubted it'd be agile and surefooted enough to come after her. Pushing that aside, she stepped closer curiously.- "Hello? Are you.. alright?"

Lex blinked, as a figure came into view. "I'm fine," he assured them. "I can never seem to get the landing right," he muttered, picking himself up and brushing off grass and leaves.
As the figure came closer, it seemed strangely familiar. Lex frowned, as the memory of a meeting long ago came to him. It couldn't be....could it?
"Marian?"

"Well, practice makes perfect. Though perhaps it'd be best if you practiced on something soft. Water, a bed, fall leaves."
-She stifled the soft hint of a laugh at his confession, growing more content in the fact that he was likely another child of the castle, and not the 'alien' her mind had immediately sat on. After all, on tv the aliens spoke a different language, and certain looked a bit more forboding.
Drawing nearer, as if to help him up, despite the fact that by now he was once again right sided, she offered a soft smile, that turned to a look of confusion when her name was called. Immediately her mind racked for an explination and familar face.. but she saw or found none.
Her smile becoming sheepish and apologetic, and her tail settling in that soft position of 'bad dog', she asked softly.- "I'm sorry... Do I know you?"

Lex frowned. Why didn't she....?
Of course. How silly of him to forget.
Lex cocked his head to one side, and giggled. "I've grown," he said shyly. "I used to be a disk. You were much smaller, too," he added.

"A disk?" -Tapping her fingers against her hip in light thought, she nodded suddenly after a few short moments.- "Right! Lex was it?" -She believed that's what his 'mother' had called him back then.
-Almost rudely, she inspected him, vulpine ears twitching from under the cloth that rested upon them. Before finally she laughed a little sheepishly. Despite the fact that she'd never seen green skin, or wings on a person she knew it wasn't right to stare.- "Mhmm, I was a child still back when we met. How long have you been out of your disk?"

Lex blushed a little at the attention he was getting.
"Not too long," he said. "It was quite strange, actually. It happened all of a sudden, and I got this strange flash of memory and..." he paused. "Sorry. I'm still trying to figure it all out." He peered at himself, flexing a wing experimentally. "Come to think of it, I'm still trying to figure this body out too."
((ooh....philosophical Lex.))

-Oblivious to the blush, Marian continued to watch as he seemingly inspected himself, offering lightly.- "I don't remember when I was little either actually. Only showing up and being found by Duchess. I've seen lots of babies.. but I've never seen one grow. Only after they've grown."
"But anyway" -Motioning lightly with her hand, as if pushing the thoughts away into the breeze she grinned a little more.- "What brings you to the castle? Come looking for a little fun?"

"I haven't really met many people," Lex said, somewhat sadly. "That's because Mum used to be busy, and couldn't take me places. Now I can fly, I like to go do things by myself."
He paused. "That's kind of what I was doing just then - going on short trips here and there, just so I can get better at flying and stuff. And landing." He made a face. "I definitely need to get better with landing."
Lex looked at Marian curiously. "Do you have something in mind?"

"Oh, I've met alot of different people, I just usually don't meet them more then once. Of course, now I've met you twice." -She smiled a little softly with the sentiment, settling her hand against her hip.
She sure had needed to practice alot with her bow before she was any good with it.. also alot of the games she played needed to be practiced and honed. She was sure he'd get it eventually if he tried.-
"Not particularly.. I was just doing some target practice myself. What kind of stuff do you like to do Lex? I'm always up for doing something new, or playing a game."

Lex grinned. "That's funny. So am I. On doing new things, I mean. Games are always fun. Especially when you play with other people." He frowned. "It's hard playing card games with yourself. I've tried."
His eyes were suddenly drawn to the bow that lay on the grass. "What's that?"
((I've just had a thought - I think Marian would get on really well with Faramir - one of the planned TMK kidlets that I'm questing for biggrin ))

((Sorry for the delay dear gonk Faramir huh? :3 ))
-Laughing a little, she nodded in soft agreement.- "Indeed, I've had a share of my own solo games as well. Always much more fun with someone to actually play with or against."
-Her eyes followed his at the question settling on her bow, before her grin grew. Bending she picked it up off the ground, offering it forward in her hands for his inspection.- "It's my bow. Archery is one of my very favorite 'games'."
-Tugging at the string with a delicate finger, to show the way the wood bowed with pressure, she added lightly.- "It lets you shoot arrows at targets and stuff."

((No problem. Tis me on my mule/quest-fund-holding account, in case you were wondering heart ))
Lex nodded. "I have an older-younger brother, but he's not really into playing games." His wings drooped a little. "I don't think he likes me all that much."
Lex seemed a little sad at this, but only for a moment. He looked up at Marian, and grinned impishly. "But never mind about him."
He stuck out a hand cautiously, and touched the bow. The wood felt cool under his claws. "I've never seen one of these before," he said. "That sounds pretty cool."
((*nods* Yep, Faramir. And his elder brother too wink ))

((I bet she would XD Poor Marian is so lonely, all by her own fault of course, since she tries to avoid anyone over the age of 'child' in fear of being hurt.
But if she had a archry/training buddy, who knows wink ))
"I actually have a brand new little brother myself. He plays games with me when I ask, but I can tell he'd much rather be off playing with his books and little wand." -She shrugged her shoulders softly. He certainly wasn't a bad brother or anything, just not very lively.. and Marian certainly had a 'thing' for lively.-
-She grinned proudly as he spoke about her bow, vulpine tail twitching with contentment.- "I could let you try it sometime if you like? Though it'd probably be easier if you used the one I did when I was younger. It's lighter and easier to pull back."
