Alan shifted, pounding out numbers on the receptionist's phone on the first floor. For whatever reason, he had each memorized. If there was no answere at home, he'd dial their cell.
On each he left a simalar message, reporting for them to come to D-corp immediatly for an important assignment.

And with the last one called, he leaned back against the edge of the desk to wait what felt like an eternity.

((All the calls have been made, so just RP coming in and even the initial call responce if you want. :3 dun matter how far you go back.

Reasons kids were chosen:
Vivina- Flying inside the canyon will have a warm climate, which is what she'd be more used too. The Serpintine body of her dragon will also be easier to manuver through the thinner areas of the canyon.
Simon&Laial- Were chosen for the lake for fairly obvious reasons; they can swim/breathe underwater. Talia is also a water-creature.
Ligiea&Keanu- Both of their dragons are flight based, but also they're both made for colder weather which the higher altitude will definatly be colder. :B
Sahra- While Vivina checks the upper area of the canyon, Sahra with her landspeed and her dragon matching such was chosen to cover the ground of the canyon. The canyon is pretty wide, and it'd take awhile for the tech to look over everything... While Sahra and her dragon can race through it.))

"An assignment..?" The orange eared feline mumbled, rubbing one side of his head with a few fingers. His own hair had been cut a bit shorter than Keanu's recently, and he'd taken the time to drag Keanu to a barber. His son would not be left with uneven messy hair. Thus all was as well as it could be when the parent was stuck as a man for an unknown amoun to ftime, the house was being remodeled, and the child and dragon where constantly hiding for fear of heatstroke. Just another day in the family. "Alright, well we'll be there soon." He couldn't say not to the command, which meant taking his son out in the heat. He quickly headed into the room where the pair of boy's had last been soon and noted they were currently looking bored int he corner. Perfect, Keanu would be thrilled. This had better not be dangerous. Then again... He'd said something about flying around... That didn't sound good.

"D-Corp just called, they have an assignment for you. We need to go right now." There was no joy in his voice as he spoke. No, now that he thought about it... This definitely didn't sound like something he'd approve of.

"Assignment?" Keanu asked, ears perking as he straighted up from the slouch. "What kind?

"I'm not exactly sure, you'll be briefed once we get there. So go get a bottle of water from the fridge for the walk." He replied, mentally going through the various ways to keep protect her kid form the heat as much as he could. Nothing especially promising came ot mind aside from giant ice cubes, and portable fans. The icewater would have to do.

A few minutes later the threesome was at the door. Ymir was definitely a lot bigger than he used to be, he didn't exactly fit on the bed anymore. Not to mention he was talking a bit. It was close enough to english to be understandable, which was an improvement from chirps and grunts. Sadly that didn't change the fact he was a big dragon who didn't enjoy being out under the hot sun. "Hot." Came the single forced word.

That was all that was needed, Keanu knew it, Raja knew it, Ymir knew it. They had to go anyway. Raja hadn't bothered to write a note about them going, if they where calling children with dragons he felt it safe to assume Naito would get a similar call. Thus came the treck to D-Corp which was uneventful. Keanu and Ymir had their water bottle to regulate the heat off a bit, and Raja had time to fret. Nothing odd there.

Upon arriving they quickly entered the building which would be cooler than the outdoors. Keanu gave a pleased sigh, accompanied with a little chirp from the dragon as he scrambled farther from the doors. Almost immediately after the initial joy of being inside again Keanu spotted the person his da had explained to look for upon arrival. He hurried over soon followed by Ymir, who found that Keanu was going in the right direction(away from the bright light outside), and both paused a few feet off. "Mr. Rikery, what's my mission?" He called as excitably as usual. A real mission this time, not just games.

Alan stopped mid pace as the door opened, a cold look still plastered on his face. He was the farthest thing from happy, and looked it with ease. In the short time of fretting over the dissaperance, he'd managed to tussle up his clothing; His tie was cooked and coming undone, shirt trying to come untucked. His hair was probably the worst, normally straight managed hair showed that it had been fussed over with a worrying hand one too many times. Raja would know this look better than anyone, the look of a worried parent.

He gave a nod, running a hand over said hair. "Yes. Keanu, Ymir." He acknowlaged "Flying is reletivly simple... Have you ever ridden a horse?" he hoped so.. the balance was essentially the same. Leaning different ways depending on which way your ride needed support... Though Ymir wasn't full riding size yet, it would have to do for today.

Oh yes, Raja recognized the look. He'd worn it everytime Keanu decided it was time to ditch mum and go have an adventure. Which meant Alan, the top dog, had his own problems. That might have been some sweet revenge to Raja who'd had his own heart attack more than enough times. Though compassion for a fellow worried parent did so instead one hand laid on the younger child's shoulder to keep him from bouncing in his excitement.

"M-da wouldn't let me." Something about them being unpredictable, and not as sturdy as a dragon. It seemed Raja knew her son's playing habits as well as he knew his da's counter arguments. "But I get to fly!?" He exclaimed, once again ignoring his parent as he glanced at Ymir. "We get to go flying do you hear that!"

Ymir gave a mixed reply of a chirp. Flying was good, the sun was another story. Well natural instinct did say it would be cooler up above. That, and having gotten bored one day to watch the Discovery channel with Tai-Yun.

Alan nodded, "They spook too easy." He added onto the list of things wrong with horses, he wasn't a fan... but still. "Alright. Basically... You counterbalance your dragon. When he needs to turn left, you lean right. Unless he needs to turn really fast then you'll lean with him to emit a fall... But you'll learn that in training. For now, just know.. lean the oposite direction. And listen to him, he'll let you know if he doesn't like something." He stepped foreward, wanting to rush through this as fast as possible.

Alan placed a hand between the dragon's folded wings, moving his hand over the top as he spoke "You'll be sitting about here, your legs will hook over this muscle. Don't move your legs once in position, you want to become part of the dragon and work with it.. Too much moving can cease the wings from being able to function proporly. Then you'll fall." He stepped back, moving to the receptionist desk.. A pile of paper had allready been stacked up there.

This was the hard part, he took a deep breath, grabbing up one of the papers. he looked it over once, then shoved it foreward to the genetically mutated child, almost looking mad at something. While mentally, he scolded himself for keeping the girl... This was why he hadn't planned on keeping any in the first place.

He gave a slight huff, before starting "This is Talia. She's..." he paused a moment, "My daughter. She dissapered this morning, and isn't on the area from what we've seen. I worry she's been kidnapped." his speech seemed to be getting faster as he breifed the boy "I want you and Ymir to fly around the area and see if you can find her... Look for anything suspicious, or if you happen to see her somewhere." He trailed off, giving another fuss of his hair as he wated for any questions before sending them off.

HAH! He was right! Then again... He wasn't pleased either. Raja eyed the still young dragon before glancing at his own son. Right, sooo... It was alright to send other parent's children off on a dangerous mission that might get them hurt as long as they found his kid. Certainly the feline didn't bother to voice this opinion, he knew exactly what would be coming from Keanu besides nods as he avidly listened to riding basics, and his mission.

And right on schedule came the response. "Miss Talia is in danger! We get to go save a damsel Ymir! Just like real heros!" And this was who Alan was to trust with his daughter? He must have been nervous at this point.

The dragon had waited patiently durring the explaination shifting his wing slightly to check that it did move well even with the hand there. All seemed well so he wasn't about to fret of it. "Hero help!" Came the quick broken reply from the dragon as he shifted a foot along the ground. He shared that interest with his partner, a will to do good. And obviously the ability to forget it'd be rather hot out there until they got high enough.

"We'll find her and take down any bad people who kidnapped her if there are any, so don't worry!" And with that in mind, Alan was left to put up with a few rantings from a sarcastic annoyed parent who would be joining him in the worry fest.

Once outside Keanu had an interesting time trying to figure out the best way to get into the position he'd been instructed with, but he figured it out. Try try until you get it right was the action. That, and desperation to once more get moving to cool down. Once the pair managed it though it didn't take long for them to manage liftoff. Ymir at least knew how to fly, he just needed a bit of time to adjust to the added weight. Not that it was easy fro the still young dragon, but he managed enough. Now just to stay airborne long enough to not fall off.

"Ok so I just lean left if you turn right and..." The snow leopard mumbled quietly to himself. It was likely a very good thing he wasn't afraid of heights, or this wouldn't have been do-able.

Back inside Raja was fixing Alan with an annoyed glare. "Soo-" his voice hung on the note for a moment. "it's alright to go send Keanu flying through the air without proper training with the chance he'll fall and die to find your child? That makes real sense. Did you stop a moment to think how the other parents will feel about this?"
PostPosted: Sat Jul 01, 2006 4:04 am

Alan gave a tiny nod, "Thankyou." he atleast owed that to the boy. In the back of his mind it was there, the children weren't supposed to go on missions for several more years...

He watched the door as Keanu left through it, seeming to tense as Raja spoke up but refusing actually making eye contact. "Miss... Mr.Raja, if you for once thought I didn't care about the child's saftey then you're gravely mistaken." He locked eyes with the other parent finally, holding out his right hand. The greyer skin, various scars patterning it was more than noticable. "Everything I've ever done in my entire life was to make sure he would remain safe. Even now I have made precautions incase someone were to fall, the techs are set up at the observation deck to make sure he stays airborn and safe." He lowered his hand, though his tone didn't exactly follow. "But if you expect me not to do everything in my power to save my 4 year old daughter then..." He paused a moment, only to be interupted by the doors opening again.

Bree stepped in almost reluctantly, she and Simon had been out when her cellphone rang... She lad let it go to voicemail only to get a nerve wracking message from the elusive boss.
She offered him a look, which he ignored. Shrugging it off she glanced to raja, raising a brow... Familiar... but where did she know this intriguing new man?

Alan took a deep breath, dropping the bit of emotion he had shown previously. "Sorry." he offered to Raja momentarily, before moving over to Simon. He knew he shouldn't get mad at clients... Normally, he was calm.. but this was the wrong month for being calm, it always had been. But only the Dtechs had come to respect that unspoken rule.

Simon frowned a bit, not sure why he had to be here...

"Not good, not good!" The pair had end up tilting too much in a turn and flew a bit sideways for a bit before managing to regain some balance. Once again having righted themselves they proceded to try to further master the whole 'flying thing.' It was not at all as easy as it looked in those books, but it was managable. Just hold on tight and enjoy the breeze, that was more or less the way things went. "Let's look over there?" With that the white hued dragon dipped down adjusting his wings to allow a slower decent toward the area to circle. Keanu might have been a novice, but Ymir was designed for such things, along with the snow. Though the resistance to cold allowed him to fly higher with no fear of freezing, thouh at the moment they could go up to such a height to enjoy the cooler air.

Meanwhile... Alan's speech only had a mild effect on Raja. "Yes, yes... Genetic mutations. I know." As if he wasn't just as bad off, being a ginuea pig was never fun. "You say that, but if he falls how are you going to catch up? If you had that kind of-" He paused as well as the door opened before casting Alan one last slightly annoyed look before attempting to offer the familiar pair a mild fake smile. Which failed horribly.

A sorry wasn't enough to placate the feline, but at this point yelling wouldn't do anything. Keanu would come down when he wanted to... Or if he fell. A shudder ran down the orange eared felines back briefly. Brushing it aside he managed to say a mild greeting hope to get his mind off the fact Keanu might be testing just how high they could fly at the moment... "Hi Bree, how have you been?" He didn't bother talking to the kid, Raja didn't particularly like water creatures. This was a well known fact.

Alan ignored him. He didn't care right now, and tryign to 'talk sense' into the feline at this point was completely useless, and he had more important things. Besides, Keanu wouldn't fall... The boy was made just right, and if it did happen Alan was assured that Ymir wouldn't let anything bad happen to teh boy.. Even if it meant hurting itself to slow the fall.

He turned to Simon, the polar oposite to Keanu. Mentally noting to use a different technique. It'd be easy after the problem in orpheus's Class.

He pointed to lev "I'm sure you've swam with him before... You two should have no problem. Therefore I'll get straight to the point, my daughter is missing. Talia, and theres the possiblity that she may be in the lake down in the canyon. Therefore I need you and Lev to go swim through it to try and find her." She nodded, passing Simon a clone of the paper he had given keanu.

Simon raised a brow, looking over the picture then tossing it to the floor. "Why should we...?

"Simon." Bree snapped, though she hardly felt bad for hte man he did practically hold her life in a little folder, and thus... owned her. In a sense. Personally everythign about hte man irritated her, but that didn't mean Simon didn't need to show respect.. and atleast go look in some stupid lake for some kid. He loved to swim anyways...

Alan shrugged, he'd been expecting that... and had something up his sleeves. "There is no reason. Laial can do it instead."

Simon stiffened, frowning. "C'mon." he motioned to lev, pausing only for Alans instructions on how to get down the cliff.

"Just go outside, on the left of the building theres an elevator. Take it down it'll go right next to the lake. Alan moved back to shuffle through papers, ignoring hte two other women there.

Bree sighed, the whole deal hardly bothered her... Though maybe if it was something he hadn't done every chance he got shemight have been. No one would know, But for right now she had some buisness to get to. "Good, yourself?" The familiarity hadn't quite clicked yet... She still pretened to know him. And the smell... Raja? Yes. Definatly raja. Hm.. maybe they were related?

"5:30 in the morning? Is he crazy? I was just in the middle of sleeping for once in the past three days! Ah....but he did sound worried...Better get Viv and Seph up." Et stretched and then quickly went to wake up the sugar glider. "Vivina, wake up. D-Corp has an assignment for you. It's very important." She gave the child a few nudges and went to the next room. Here, a loud snoring echoed everywhere as the amphithere slept heavily. Et rang the "dragon sized" alarm clock, hoping it would wake the thing up. And it did. Long story short, he was not happy to see himself awake at that hour and was soon on his way to get Vivina.

A few moments later, Vivina and Sephayr trudged into the kitchen. "Ma...It's only 5:40 a.m. and I'm tired....why do I have to wake up so early?" She slumped into her chair and began to eat her oatmeal, which Et had made while she got ready.

Sephayr was met with a large bowl of salad, with additional pieces of minced meat in it. He was carnivorous in nature, but he had acquired the taste for vegetables and fruits as a result from being around Vivina.

"Something about an assignment dear. Mr. Rikery wants you and Sephayr to take dragon flying lessons and search in the canyon. It sounds like something's going on at D-Corp. You should go and see what's wrong. I have some things ready in your bag. Lunch, water, and a small first aid kit, just in case."

Vivina gave a small smile to her mom as she finished up her oatmeal. Getting off her seat, she went to dress up and finish getting ready. Sephayr followed suit to preen his feathers in front of the mirror wall installed in his room. As soon as they were ready, Et dropped them off at D-Corp.

"Call me whenever you're ready to be picked up. And if I'm not available, you can always walk back, ok?"

Nodding to her mom, Vivina, dressed in her usual pirate outfit and a coconut knife by her side, entered the building silently with her dragon slithering behind. However, Seph had forgotten to fold his wings in once more before entering through the door (he had let his wings drag behind him since he was still tired).

The sugar glider and the amphithere arrived where Alan was and stopped a few feet away from him. Vivina looked up to him and rubbed her eyes. "Um....my dragon and I, Vivina, are here....Mom said something about...about...ah..ah...ahhhhhrrrrr....an assignment." She realized she yawned in the middle of her sentence, confirming her tiredness. "Ah, sorry...I don't like waking up early...I'll be back to normal soon...Same with Sephayr." She acknowledged her dragon, who seemed to be trying to stick his head under one of his wings like a bird about to sleep. A clearing of her throat caused him to bolt into attention, only to have his eyes sag down again.

Maji shook Laial off from dragging her and walked quickly to where the other people were. It sounded important, whatever this thing was, and she didn't want the image that she was being dragged into it. But oh so tired...

Laial almost ran to the people before he recognized the egg-guy. No, not egg-guy, Alan Rikery. He did have a name, just a hard to remember one. Wondering if he was still mad about sneaking off with Talia, he turned around and waited for Heiko and Maji to hurry up.

Heiko was first, as shi was as excited about the mission as Laial, just lacking quick mobility. Shi mrred in greeting to the adults and to the other two.

Maji was last, with every step she thought it was doomsday. Yep, doomed, that was the aura today. Doomed doomed dooomed...

Laial quickly noticed Vivina and waved. Her dragon was pretty too! Of course, Heiko would always be better, but this dragon was close!
