Due to the conflict we have been having regarding Dawna and Morion we think it is best that all the Guardians think very hard about an emergency plan in case they are to leave Gaia. Please post your idea about what should happen to your fa'e in case you can't update your diary for more then three months - whether you want to assign a future Guardian or want your fa'e to vanish so that nobody but you RP her - TELL US. You do not need to do this right this second, but we would like to have this in the open and settled, so that we can avoid these conflict in the future. Also - please consider that vanishing of the fa'e/allowing me to use the story for my metaplot etc as a very viable alternative to giving them away to somebody else. Every transfer of characters murks up the story, at least a little bit and changes the personality of the character and the idea behind fa'e is that they exist based solely on the will of the Guardian to have them exist. If you cannot continue their story anymore, it is only true to the story that they will vanish. We keep on reassigning fa'e and thus deviating further and further from the original concept.
Also - post your questions in this thread as well and we will answer them as the come XD
UPDATE 8/11/09: The Fa'e staff will no longer be fading or rehoming Fa'e for inactivity. Too much drama involved; if these things are to happen, they must be the choice of the Guardian involved. However, we still encourage people to post in this thread so that they know what they would want to do in the instance that they are no longer able to play their Fa'e, whether through busy lives or lack of interest or other factors.

If I ever leave - well, Anya you know how to get in touch with me IRL.
But if it comes up - I want Purr to be used by Anya/Airi for metaplot purposes. I don't want her transfered to another owner unless I pick the new owner out personally.

Personally I would have Aylana killed off. But because I have a co-guardian for her now I would want her to be given fully over to Ala. She knows Aylana inside and out so I knwo she would be able to rp her the way Aylana is.

If I were to disappear, I'd like there to be some sort of writing contest for Lethe -- since if she were to be given to another guardian I'd like her history and personality to be different. If that would be inconvenient, though, then she could either be taken for NPC purposes or else killed off in a tragic drowning-in-tomato juice accident.

If I for whatever reason (heaven forbid) disappear for any length of time, I'd like Ivynian and XiaoRen to co-guardian Devmani while I'm gone. Those two know my writing style and most of my plans for Devi. They also know how to get a hold of me in RL provided I crash my car or some such idiocy.
Otherwise I will leave notice and make appropriate RP accomodations if my absense will last any length of time due to RL issues.

If I were to permanently vanish, I'd prefer that Anen be removed from the game or made into an NPC for use by Anya.
If I have to leave Gaia for an extended time, I'll attempt to make appropriate arrangements beforehand.

If there should come a time when I leave Gaia never to return, I would like Arkie to go under the shop's control as an NPC if there's any purpose he could possibly serve. If there isn't, I suppose he'll just fade away. At the risk of sounding selfish, I'd really rather he not be given to anyone else without my approval.
I would also like to make it known that I am not prone to just up and vanishing for no reason. There is usually something of significance behind it (RL shitstorms, computer troubles, etc.). A couple of the guardians know my phone number and will likely get in touch with me if I've not been around for awhile to find out what's going on and relay the message to others.

Well... if I'm ever offline for 3 months without telling anyone it's going to be because I'm in a serious accident or I'm dead. Not joking ^^;;
If I ever decide to leave Gaia, I'll let people know. And I won't because honestly all I do here is RP - and Roth is the only RP character I have now that the Ieldi shut down.
For simple things like RL acting up, loss of computer/Net access I have backups. All I need to get on the Net is a phone line and my computer working, so I can visit friends or family and steal their phone line for 5 min if I have to. If my computer dies, all my immediate family work at places that have Net access - they wouldn't mind me writing a note online if my computer did die on me.
So if I'm ever absent for so long, I'd like Anya to take Roth for NPC purposes. As I said, if it ever happens chances are I've been in an accident and in that case it would be nice to have Roth still 'alive' by the time I could get back online again.
... That sounds a bit morbid, but I don't ever see the 'disappearing' thing being a problem for me ^^
(Regarding passing Roth on to someone, I haven't discussed Roth's future plans with anyone and the people whose RP styles I know best already have fa'e. So I'd rather have Anya in charge.
... Maybe I need to pass RL contact info on to someone ^^;; )

If I should disappear I'd like Nyxa and/or Alyosha to take care of Onuris. Should neither of them wish to take care of him, I'd like there to be some sort of fun contest. :3

Like Kali, I'd have to be ridiculously messed up if I ever vanished for so long - or dead, or something. x_x And I can't see myself leaving Gaia. If I did, I'd take care of things before leaving.
But just in case... if I ever vanish forever, I'd like Riven to be NPC-controlled by Anya and/or fade away. He should NOT be given to anyone else, ever.
And obviously in terms of the shop NPCs I created/play, I entrust Anya with them and their dispensation.
Updated: If I vanish for some reason (HIGHLY UNLIKELY), Prolixity has my RL contact information and can figure out wtf is up with me, as does the Gaia user Onigiri-chan (though she's not involved with Fa'e or Breedables at all).

I've been having kind of a complicated living system lately and I'll be moving into an apartment during the summer. It may be that I'll be without internet for a time, but it won't be long, and I'll have plenty of contact in the meanwhile. That said, if something more drastic were to happen, I'd like Xo to be given to Silversyren, hands down. I am totally confident that she'd be able to pull her off without a big transition period.
If Silversyren balks because she does not have nearly enough self esteem regarding her amazing characterization and writing capability, I'd like Noxlen to consider it, even though I know she's got her own concept brewing - she's also amazingly talented as a writer. In the case that neither of them wants to be saddled with Spots, Anya's welcome to take control and have her fade off if need be.
I have so many awesome writers for friends. <3 I wouldn't put their names here if I wasn't sure they'd be able to pick up without a hitch if they chose.

I really feel like Shina has been bobbled around enough already so if for some amazing reason I disappear without a lick of notice (which would be due to severe injury or monsoon), I would like to revert control of Shina to Anya as an NPC. I would also be okay with Lenore or Kaekia or Neith controlling her as an NPC (obviously they cannot have two Fa'e) due to her connections to any plots they might have. This also applies to any current guardians who would need her for their own plots.
But, again, I would never leave Gaia without notice unless the circumstances were beyond my control. And after feeling the first hand experience of what can happen when someone you need leaves abruptly, I am contemplating giving my address to another guardian as an emergency contact. ^_^

Sosiqui In absolutely no circumstances should Riven or Chaos or Conrad be given to anyone not of my selection. Oooh, yes! Absolutely no way do I ever want anyone else to have Roth. Anya may use him for metaplot things, and Sabin can have NPC use to finish any sort of plotlines with Mordath, but never ever ever do I want him to have a new Guardian/RPer. He's my custom baby and the few people I think might be able to do my vision of Roth justice already have fa'e. So to Anya, minor use to Sabin, or dead.
