Okay, I just went to see Wicked on Broadway and it was AMAZING. I am becoming almost as thoroughly obsessed with it as I am with Phantom.
Discussions: Elphaba and Erik. Comparisons, how they'd relate, etc. Also, how amazingly awesome Wicked is. ^_^

Erm... >_> They ARE sort of similar. They're both like... "Oh em gee. Everyone hates me!" Ew. That ryhmes. XDDDD But, yeah. >_> They're both "deformed" in thier own way so people go, "O_O D: OMFGTHERE'SSOMETHINGTERRIBLYWRONGWITHYOU. It may be contagious. *runs away*" And both stories're sad. >_> Vurreh. The books're both sadder. Because SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS: D: They both die. END SPOILER. Which is sad. ;-;

They're both very good, though. I was listening to the Wicked soundtrack this morning on the deck, actually. :33 My doggeh makes the bestest pillow ever. <3<3<3

Yeah, the books are sadder than the musicals, though all are sad. Though the end of Wicked did kind of make me go O.o. It made me a bit happier for Elphaba, but I was still confused beyond belief. And it was awesome seeing how the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion came around through this interpretation. I LOVE the song "Defying Gravity". I think a lot of Wicked songs would work if Erik sang them, too.
Heheh. I just imagined Erik and Raoul singing "What is this Feeling?" "My roomate is.... blonde." Bwahaha. ^_^

Oh dear... I'm picturing the Phantom cast playing in Wicked. *Dies laughing* Mostly I'm picturing Raoul playing as Glinda singing "Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe..." Then Erik going, "BLONDE."
And then the managers talking to Raoul:
"Poor Galinda- er, Raoul, forced to reside
With someone so DISGUSTICIFIED
We just want to tell you:
We're all on your side..."
xp

XDD Yeah.. but... sadly, there's one problem. That song, "For Good." XDDD We might have to rewrite that whole song. I can't see Erik saying he <3's Raoul in any way whatsoever.

Who would play the Wizard? Oooh, I'll bet Carlotta would make a good Madame... er, that instructor lady who takes Elphaba under her wing in the beginning. And who would be Nessa? Little Giry? Wait... who would play the Scarecrow (I can't spell his name to save my life)? Christine? Sure, it would work considering the Phantom plot, but she doesn't strike me as a "Dance away your life" sorta girl... unless someone gave her an OOC potion or something.
Had a verrah frightening thought. Piangi as the Wizard. O.o Ewwww..

*Has images of Madame Giry singing "Dance Through Life"* XD
We'd have to alter "I'm not that girl", too, or people might have questions about Erik and Raoul's er, preferences. ^_^

Erik singing "Defying Gravity" would be godly. *Nod nod* And "I'm Not a Girl..." *Bursts out laughing* Well, that would fit certain Raouls, wouldn't it? Though it would be amazing to hear Erik singing that.
Oh! Oh! Maybe Firmin would be the goat teacher person! Dillamond, that's his name. And Andre could be the wizard. Piangi could be Daddy. *Imagines Erik's response to that* ^_^

Erik singing "Defying Gravity" would be amazing. *Is blasting the song now* For some reason, the Persian being the Wizard strikes me as something that would work. I'm picturing him as *SPOILER* the lover at the beginning*END SPOILER* singing the "Come with me my dark-eyed beauty" and all that. That might WORK. And anyone could see why the mother would do as she did. *Shrugs*

XDDD Oh, hell yeah. The mother's actions are now very, very justified.

Phantom and Wicked are scarily similar books. Kay's Phantom, that is.
