Personality: Teqatia is very cold and withdrawn. She does not trust others easily and has very few friends. She has never wanted any children, or even really the company of others, but short of moving into the woods and becoming a hermit such contact is unavoidable. Teqatia isn't really a cruel person, she just lacks compassion and will probably never learn it. To Sebastian she is loyal and attentive, which can usually be mistaken for compassion.
Background: Born in the great city of Or, Teqatia's parents were of the upper class and had both a fine state house in the Kell district and a summer home in the country. Her parents were very emotionally abusive and manipulative towards both each other and Qatia. Qatia cut herself off from her emotions at a young age in defense. Her childhood was a grim one, she was not well-loved by either of her parents and she did not have any friends at school. She did well enough in her studies. She went on to study history at University, becoming an expert on the ancient Ila civilation. It was in this capacity that she was "recuited" to help a man locate a lost artifact of great power. Teqatia fell in love with him and thought he loved her back, but once he had the artifact he abandoned her. She went back to the university and lived out her days in quiet misery, after which point she was collected by the Fleet. She found herself studying history in the University of Magic for several months until the Fleet was formally dissolved during the Conference, at which point she moved to the Neighborhood. There, her friend Percival gave her a scroll to keep her occupied...

Minnarkentanit Trant
A military genius, Trant was instrumental in the creation of the Fleet. He is the romantic partner of Void incarnation EmileAmai, and rumors of their perverse predilections abound. Trant is a member of the Calym species. He has grey skin and mottled grey hair offset by striking yellow eyes. His behavior is often hard for humans to fathom, his reactions to things being often wholly unsuited to the situation. Nevertheless, Trant is fascinated by human culture and behavior and enjoys participating in interaction with humans. His favorites are those humans with unnatural calm or reasoning ability.
Like most Calym, Trant practices ritual mutilation and has an incredible tolerance for pain, easily capable of withstanding a limb being severed. He has numerous piercings and his entire body is covered in traditional black tattoos. Calym use pain as a focus, channeling it in their meditation, leading to myths that they feel no pain whatsoever. In daily interaction, Trant has an air of perpetual amusement. It is impossible to make him feel uncomfortable or anger him. He has no sense of self-consciousness or superego. He has morals he lives by, but they are unfathomable to humans.
Trant prides himself on being unusual for his species, primarily by displaying a strong ego and will and desiring a greater status in history. He has twice unsuccessfully attempted to take over his homeplanet, not due to any failure on his part, but simply the strength of his people. He refuses to give up on the effort, and in between his asaults on Calymur, leads wars for other species with a resoundingly high success rate.
Sylvia (Declair) Depriest
Cool, calm, controlled Sylvia repressed her natural feminine behavior and instincts for a chance to serve as an officer aboard a starship in the Smodrina Armed Forces. She was dedicated, smart, serious, and attained a position as First Officer on the Vilna Victory, under Captain Alexandre Depriest. This turned out to be the pivotal starship when the League of Galatos attacked Smodrina shortly after the coronation of Tzar Ivan XIII. Alexandre was the best officer Smodrina had, becoming nicknamed Alexandre the Great for his victories. Unfortunately, there was simply no way for Smodrina to win against Galatos. They were outnumbered and outgunned. The Vilna Victory was forced to retreat from the final battle to save the life of Ivan XXIII, otherwise the line of tzars would be broken.
As Alexandre's first officer, Sylvia was sharp and efficient. They were a perfect match, their command styles complementing each other well. After Smodrina's defeat, they maintained the morale and dedication of the crew on the long road to revolt against the Galatos. Then the Vilna Victory received communication from the Fleet, inviting the captain and crew to join and, in return, promising Smodrina's liberation when conditions were right. Alexandre accepted the deal and they joined the Fleet. Alexandre and Sylvia continued working together in the Fleet. Sylvia made two notable friends, historian Teqatia Endruis and kind, sympathetic starfighter pilot Landor Niela. The human emotions Sylvia had been repressing for so long began to surface. She felt affection for Niela, and he loved her, but in her heart she loved Alexandre. It was simply that the relationship was so impossible that she had never allowed herself to think about it before.
After the Conference, Alexandre revealed that he had been in love with Sylvia the entire time as well and had been repressing his feelings for her for the sake of their professional relationship and the wars they were fighting. They decided to marry in a small private ceremony. Unfortunately, this caused a rift between Sylvia and Teqatia that has yet to be healed. Sylvia and Alexandre were married in December. They intended to plan the liberation of Smodrina for the coming year, but in November discovered Sylvia was pregnant. They are expecting twins in July, and have decided to work as best they can on the liberation plans for Smodrina, though Sylvia herself will most likely not be able to participate in the coming battles.
Unfortunately, much of their plans depend on the mental state of Ivan XXIII, who is currently in no condition to resume leadership or even participate in it.
