Eight pillars, ages old, stand in a semi circle. Time worn small script etched into their surface's eons ago completly cover them. At their bases small bush's of creeping rose vines grow. Tendrils of the minute blossoming flowers and leaves creep over the pillars, half covering their alien script. The time when one could easily read the words etched into the pillars are long past, and only a scant few remain now with the knowledge amoung the Yudou. The flat stone floor creates a perfect circle of white marble. Carved into it's surface is a college of symbols and pictures. Detailed down to the tinest feather and the smallest curl.

Set between half of the pillars a oval shaped basin rises. Completly overwhelmed by the creeping rose ivy, the alien script that covers the basin is completly hid from view. Upon looking into the basin, water so crystal clear it is nearly invisable gathers. There is no bottom to the basin, and peering down into it one can see that the waters in the basin travel down to a unknown depth beneath the circle of stone.

A un-natrual hush lays upon this circle. No birds sing in the tree's scattered about the circle. The wind that causes the vines to shift barely makes any noise. Even the vines themselves seem not to make a rustling sound as the wind passes through them.

A breath held, is the sense one gains from this place. Quiet anticipation for a event to unfold...

F.A.Q.'s

Q: I want my dream to mate with another Dream. What do I do?

Answer
Mating is not as simple as going to a alter and saying 'I Do'. Dreams, by their very nature, are pack animals. They gather and live harmoniously with others of their kind, and even of other sub species. Before two dreams can join, it must be determined which dream is the Alpha. After that, a offering must be made at the Joining Glade and the two dreams must each drink from the basin. There are different verion's of joining however that can come about from drinking at the basin.

Q: Alpha? Whats that?

Answer
The Alpha dream is the dream that is the 'leader' in the mating. This dream is responsible for the care of the dreams that have joined with it, as well as their offspring until they reach their adult stages. Some Alpha Dreams also have duties and territory to watch over.

Q: Can two Alpha Dreams mate?

Answer
It depends on what kind of Alpha dream yours is. Two Clan Alphas can not mate, but a Clan Alpha and a Pack Alpha can mate.

Q: What is the difference between a Clan Alpha and a Pack Alpha?

Answer
That will be explained in the Clan and Pack sections of this thread. Please read below.

Q: A offering was mentioned, what is this?

Answer
In short, it's a Mating fee that the guardian has to pay me sweatdrop There are no real perks to being mated, save RP enrichment wise. The fee is to slow down the flood of matings that would come if it were free, and due to the fact that cert alterations will be made when a pair of Dreams Join.

Q: I don't think thats very fair though.

Answer
I'm sorry you may feel this way. Most of the gold I make through my shop gets put right back into it by way of additions to the line art species and items. Plus, it's my time that's going into altering the cert for your dreams. My pets are cheap on average and my prices I try to keep fair and realistic. If you don't like this..well...there is nothing making you Join your dreamw ith another. You can play them just as well without having them mated.

Q: Does gender matter when chooseing a Alpha?

Answer
Nope! A Female can be a Alpha or a Male can. Just as gender plays no part in breeding, gender plays no part in whether or not a dream is capable of being a Alpha. Females are just as capable as males (Or perhaps that is vice versa?) when it comes to leading a pack.

Q: Can I make all my dreams Alpha's?

You can, though there are some restrictions.

Q: What are the restrictions?

Answer
There is no limit to how many Pack Alpha's you can have, and you may only have one Clan Alpha. Becoming a Pack Alpha is very easy, it just has to be agreed between the two dreams which one will be the Alpha. Of course, this means that the non-Alpha dream is accepting the fact they can have no other mate then their Alpha, and their mate can have more then one mate. Gaining a Clan Alpha is very hard however.

Q: How do I get a Clan Alpha?

Answer
That is answered below in the Clan section. Please read it through.

(More to be added as time passes, if you have a question that is not covered either in the FAQ's or following explanations then please post it here in the thread and I'll try to add it to this list)

Pricing and Rituals

Pricing: No matter if your a Clan Alpha joining with a Pack Alpha, if it's your first or twentieth joining, the price will always remain the same. It is 500G per Dream that is being Joined.

exclaim Only 2 Dreams may be joined at a time.

exclaim A Alpha Dream may join with as many Dreams that it wish's over time.

exclaim Dreams that are not Alpha Dreams may only join once with another dream.

Rituals: Rituals are special ceremonies that Joined Dreams may perform together before attempting to breed. Each Ritual is different and requires different things for it to be completed successfully. It should be noted that a Ritual will affect only ONE of the whisp's produced through breeding. It will not affect all of the whisps. The owners of the dreams performing the ritual may have control over certain aspects of breeding. Dreams within the same Pack or Clan may perform a Ritual with the permission of their Alpha. It should be noted that no more then three rituals can be performed by the dreams for any one breeding.

Example
Two dreams perform a Ritual to produce a Yudou Whisp and perform a ritual to ensure one of the whisps has the colors black and silver.

After completeing the rituals, the owners decide they want their first whisp to be the Yudou. This means that the first whisp I roll up the %'s for will have a automatic 100 in the Yudou slot, hence making it a Yudou, though the parents have no control over the rest of the outcomes.

The owners decide as well that they want the third dream to be Black and Silver. This means that when I roll up the %'s for colors, only these two colors will appear in the dream. Any other colors that may have been included get an automatic 0 in the percent slots.

It is entierly possible for the dream owners to decide that the Yudou Ritual and the Color Ritual will go to the same whisp.

exclaim Blessing Ritual (By completeing this Ritual one of the whisps will be destined to become a Deejarne. In order to compensate for the divine energies needed to call the elemental spirit of the temple to perform the blessing, a basic fee of 1 sealed letter of any month is required.)

exclaim Divine Ritual (Upon completeion of this ritual, one whisp will become destined to become a Yudou. In order to compensate for the divine energies needed to call the elemental spirit of the temple to perform the blessing, a basic fee of 4 current month letters must be offered.)

exclaim Celestial Ritual (Upon completeion of this ritual, one whisp will become destined to become a Celestial Being. In order to compensate for the divine energies needed to call the elemental spirit of the temple to perform the blessing, a basic fee of 2 current month letters must be offered.)

exclaim Tainted Ritual (Upon completeion of this ritual, one whisp will become destined to become a Poisoned Being. In order to compensate for the divine energies needed to call the elemental spirit of the temple to perform the blessing, a basic fee of 2 current month letters must be offered.)

exclaim Rainbow Ritual (Upon completeion of this ritual, one whisp will become destined to become any one color of the parents choice. In order to compensate for the divine energies needed to call the elemental spirit of the temple to perform the blessing, a basic fee of 100G must be paid in tribute.)

exclaim Gender Ritual (Upon completeion of this ritual, one whisp will become destined to become any gender of the parents choice. In order to compensate for the divine energies needed to call the elemental spirit of the temple to perform the blessing, a basic fee of 100G must be paid in tribute.)

Packs

A Pack is in truth nothing more then a Family. When a pair of Dreams decide to become joined, they form a Pack. A Pack may have as few as two dreams, or as many as 10. But never anymore then 10 dreams. The Alpha is included in the number of the pack by the way.

Becoming a Pack Alpha is as easy as can be. A Dream needs only go to the Joining Circle and pay it's dues. By drinking water from the Unity Basin at the same time as the dream it desires as a mate, the two are joined as a pair. It must be agreed upon before the pair drink which one will be the Pack Alpha. This is extremly important! Both of the Dreams must acknowledge that the Alpha, while having the perk of adding any other dream it see's fit to it's pack, is also completly responsible for the welfare and protection of the dream(s) in it's pack. The Pack Alpha will be responsible of any problems that may be created by it's pack members, and must acknowleddge that now there is something more important then it's own wants and desires. Being a Pack Alpha does not entitle the dream to treat the members of the pack as it's own personal harem or as slaves. The Pack Alpha is owed nothing by the members of it's pack, but in fact owes them it's best to keep them safe and happy.

At the same time, those that agree to join a pack acknowledge and agree to the knowledge that they may not be the only one in the pack that loves the Pack Alspha. A Pack mate respects the Alpha and abides by it's descions, though giving it's own opinion is allowed. Pack Mates owe it to their Alpha to be supportive and compassionate to their Alpha.

If it is decided before joining that the Alpha will not invite any other dreams into the pack, it is expected to abide by this descion with it's pack mate. If something does change, and the Alpha wish's to invite another dream to join it's pack, it is always wise to discuss the possibility with it's pack mate first. Though the Alpha may choose to invite another drem into the pack and ignore either it's promise, or the wish's of it's pack mate, it very well may lead to tense and strained relationships within the pack.

Once two dreams have been joined as a Pack, they can NOT dissolve the joining! I repeat, a Joining is PERMANANT! The Alpha dream may breed with any dreams it so wishes, from within the pack or from without. If a Pack mate wish's to breed with another dream other then the Alpha, it must gain permission from the Alpha before this occurs.

I will require two dreams in this situation to have the owner of the Alpha(s) to contact me stateing they allow the breeding. If it happens that the owner of the (a) Alpha does not approve, then I'm sorry but the breeding can not be carried out. If the owner of the (a) Alpha has been missing from Gaia for over a month, then I would like to be notified of their absence. Breeding may occur freely in this case, and if the Alpha owner does not return after another month, then the position of Pack Alpha will be open as per "Challenger" rules with the absentee Alpha automatically loseing the challenge. For more information see the Ascention post.

When a pack is formed, a Pack name must be selected. You may not choose a name that is similar to a Pack Name already used. Nor may you choose inappropriate names for your pack. (Yes I decide what is or is not appropriate) A small addition will be put on the cert of the Joined dreams with the Pack name and a special sigel to noe the name as a Pack, and not a clan name. A reference will of course be kept of all dreams that are in a pack.

It should be noted, that any whisp's that stay with a parent in a pack are technically considered part of that pack until they reach their Aware stage. The name of the pack will not be added to the whisp's cert however, unless it decides to join the same pack as it's parent.

YES! Children can join the same pack as their parents. Why is this? It is because a Pack/mating/joining has nothing to do with sex. A mating or Joining is purely done out of love and respect. As it was pointed out, a Pack is in short, a Family. Obviously breeding between parents and children is completly forbidden, but the Alpha may pick, choose, approve, or disapprove of the breeding choices of the children in it's pack. It is entierly possible for a Alpha to welcome into it's pack dreams that it does not 'love' as one would a mate...but rather dreams that the Alpha wish's to protect and care for.

Pack Alpha Attributes
A Pack Alpha gains the following abilities:
~ Location The Alpha may locate any member of it's pack at will, providing they are on the same plane as the pack member. If the Alpha is in Nowhere, it may only locate it's pack members that are in Nowhere. It will not be able to sense any other pack members or where they may be.

~ Share Torment If a Dream is greviously harmed or ill, the Alpha may choose to 'share' in it's pack mates pain. All this does is ease the discomfort or pain of the suffering mate. It does not heal the mate, nor does it inflict any sort of wound or illness upon the Alpha. SHould the dream mate succumb to the wounds or illness and revert to whisp form, the Alpha no longer is capable of feeling the mates pain.

~ Thought Sending A Pack Alpha has the ability to send it's thoughts over a distance of 5 miles to any member of it's pack. Members of it's pack can not send their thoughts back, but if the Alpha focus's on a singular Dream it may pick up the thoughts of that dream if the dream allows it's Alpha to.

Clans

The difference between a Clan Alpha and a Pack Alpha may not seem to be too different at a glance. Both Dreams are responsible for their mates, and in truth a Clan Alpha's description is very much the same as a Pack Alpha.

The true difference between A Pack and Clan Alpha...is territory.

While a Pack Alpha may have a home or nest in which it and it's mates may live. The Clan Alpha has much more. Clan Alphas are given domain over Nowhere. Like little Lords, they are charged to cleanse their territory of Nowhere, protect it from any Nightmare infections, and defend it against Nightmare attacks.

The number of dreams that may belong to a clan are limitless. A Clan Alpha may take as a mate any number of dreams, and bring them under it's own personal sigel. It may also mate with a Pack Alpha. When a Clan and Pack Alpha mate, only the Pack Alpha bares the sigle of the Clan. The Clan Alpha does not gain lordship over the Pack Alpha's mates, but it is the Pack Alpha's duty to ensure that it's mates are respectful to it's own mate. The Pack Alpha is always the subserviant one in a Clan/Pack mating.

Becoming a Clan Alpha is not nearly as easy as it is to become a Pack Alpha. First, the dream must be a Pack Alpha, and have tended to it's mate(s) for at least a month (RL). Second, a unclaimed territory must exsist in nowhere. Territories are recognized as the seperate lands that form from time to time in Nowhere. Third the rank must be won in the Training Arena. Clan Alpha status will be awarded from time to time in competions that is open only to dreams that meet the requirements.

It should be noted, that even if your dream wins the title of Clan Alpha...it's not impossible for them to lose it! Challenges may be issued by Pack Alpha's to claim the title of Clan Alpha. (Rules for Challenging to be posted in the Training Arena). If a Alpha loses their title as Clan Alpha, they still retain their original Pack Alpha title. All those in their immediate pack remain bound to them, but no longer do the Pack Alpha that they may have mated with when they were a Clan Alpha. Pack Alpha's that mate to a Clan Alpha are bound to whichever dream is the current Clan Alpha.

The first Clan Alpha may choose the name of it's clan, providing it does not mimic the name of any other Clan or Pack. Any Clan Alpha's that may take the title following the first may not change the name. (I retain the right to refuse a name if I find it inappropriate in any measure)

Clan Alpha Attributes
A Clan Alpha gains the following abilities:
~ Extended Location The Alpha may locate any member of it's clan at will, providing they are on the same plane as the clan member. If the Alpha is in Nowhere, it may only locate it's clan members that are in Nowhere. It can also sense if the clan mate it's seeking to sense is in Nowhere or on Gaia.

~ Extended Share Torment If a Dream is greviously harmed or ill, the Alpha may choose to 'share' in it's clan mates pain. The CLan Alpha may choose to take the wounds or the illness of it's mate into itself. In order to do this the Clan Alpha must be able to touch the suffering Dream. The Clan Alpha may choose how much of the wound or illness it takes on, in a way healing the suffering mate but suffering the amount of hurt that it heals personall. Should the dream mate succumb to the wounds or illness and revert to whisp form, the Alpha no longer is capable of feeling the mates pain or healing them.

~ Extended Thought Sending A Clan Alpha has the ability to send it's thoughts over a distance of 5 miles to any member of it's clan. Members of it's clan can not send their thoughts back, but if the Alpha focus's on a singular Dream it may pick up the thoughts of that dream if the dream allows it's Alpha to.

((More to be added when/if I remember it. Till now consider this done))

Offerings

Not everyone is pleased with getting bouncy antenna or veils for random rewards. Sometimes folks get copies of scrolls their dreams already have. Sometimes no one wants these items no matter how 'grascious' you try to be and give them away...and your not allowed to refuse a random reward.

So what the heck do you do with something you really don't want? Let it gather dust in your dreams inventory? How about a better idea. What would you think if you were allowed to recycle those unwanted rewards? What would you say if the possibility of getting something really cool in exchange for your throw away items was possible?

Well it is. When two dreams perform the Joining ceremony they are allowed to make a divine offering. This is done, quite simply, by dropping items the two dreams possess into the basin before drinking of it's waters. The items dropped in the basin become offerings to a mysterious god(ess) and there is the possibility this god(ess) may appear to ..hmmm...what will be done? No one knows!

How it works: There are certain items that can be offered, and some that can not. You won't know how many points a item is worth until after someone tries to offer it. Be careful! Don't offer something your not willing to lose! Each item offered up's the chances of the god(ess) appearing. Don't expect the God(ess) to appear just because you dump a lot of stuff in the basin. Each item has it's own divine value, and this divine value equals the % chance of the God(ess) appearing. Once you offer a item You may not recind the offering or edit your post in any way to change the item offered, the amount offered, or the fact you offered. If you do so you will be severly punished! (In this way I mean you will not be allowed to join any packs/clans in the future and all dreams you own that are in a pack/clan will have the status removed from their certs, nor will you get any gold back from joinings you have lost.)

Divine Values
Only 3 items may be offered per dream! This is just a basic list of how points are counted. Depending on exactly what item it is your tributing the number of points may actually be higher then what is listed. These are just the minimum amount of points that can be awarded.

So you want to Join your Dreams
A step by step guide for getting through the joining process.

Step One
Find someone to join with your dream! This is by far the easiest part!

Step Two
If you are joining a exsisting pack skip on down to Step Four. If you are creating a new pack decide which dream will be the Alpha in the pairing.

Step Three
A clan name must be decided now. Choose something relatively short or simple. While the name "Those who howl at midnight atop the winter mountain" is a really nifty and nature based name, it's just too dang long to fit on the Pack cards.

Step Four
Post in this thread your desire to be Joined! Include who will be joining, as well as the name of the clan, and who the alpha is. Make certain to post if this is a new clan or not!

Step Five
Unfortunatly Clan Sigels can not be choosen by you. One will be assigned to each new clan, and a small one will be placed on your Dreams Cert. Alpha Sigels will have a glow around them so folks can tell who is the leader of the pack and who is just a member. Make certain you've posted the image of the dream you intend to have joined.

Step Six
Wait for confirmation that your joining has been recognized and given the OK.

Step Seven
Post any intentions you have of making offerings at this point and time, then start the trade to LC for the processing fee ^_^

Step Eight
Wait for LC to add the sigel to your certs, wait for LC to tally up any possible chance of summoning the God(ess), and possibly poke him a few times if he takes too long

And there you have it!

So you want to Perform a Ritual
An addition to getting your dreams groove on.

Step One
Join your dreams if they haven't been joined already.

Step Two
Decide which of the ritual selections you would like to perform. Remember, you can only choose up to three rituals at any one time!

Step Three
Gather together the requirements to perform the selected ritual(s)

Step Four
Post in this thread you would like to perform the ritual(s) you've selected.

Step Five
Wait for confirmation from LC that you have been approved for the ritual(s)

Step Six
Send the trade to LC for whatever requirements the ritual(s) need.

Step Seven
Set up a breeding appointment if you don't already have one. (It's best if you are already on the Waiting List when you go to perform a ritual)

Step Eight
Inform the person doing your breeding that you've performed your ritual(s).

Step Nine
Wait for the babies! 4laugh

^^ Its sounds so cool! So can you join Dreams even if theyre not going to breed? Or would it be a joining then breeding so it would be like the 3k for dreeding and the 500g for the joining?

Nope. You can join Dreams and never have them breed. Look at is as kind of a marrige for them. just cause your married doesn't mean you have to spit out kids XD

By Joining your dreams you give them access to Rituals. The Rituals themselves are expensive, but it gives you the option to influence the outcome of a breeding. You still need to pay the 3K for the breeding, and then the price for the ritual. All in all I guess it can get treally expensive...but it would give you the possibility of having like...a Dejarnee with the colors you want ^_^

Clan and Pack names can be choosen by the Alpha dreams. They can not, however, choose a name that is like another clans name.

Example: Clan Shade, Clan Shayd. <--- That would not be allowed.
