You knew it would happen. PBS bought 30 episodes of Curious George, and a sequel for the first movie is in the works with another all star voice cast. http://www.pbs.org/aboutpbs/news/20050115_curiousgeorge.htmlI still haven't rented the first movie. I hate Will Farrell. He's not funny. A really negative trait for someone who is susposed to be a comedian.

Savanna told me she saw the commercials for the CG show on the local PBS station while watching this week. Should be interesting. I'm a big fan of anything William Macy is involved in.

I've never really watched nor read anything Curious George and this monkey intrigues me. Looks sweet and funny. Anybody familiar with the series?

When I was very young, I saw some of the books that were published, but my family didn't buy any of them.
And now that I've had a chance to watch three episodes of the new show, I have to say that I'm very pleased with the results. A solid and pleasing 2D animation style that is true to the atmosphere of the characters. Based in the big city, George is confronted with the wonders of daily life there.
Problem solving is a big component of the educational nature of the show.

I read some of the books as a child. The one episode I've seen looks fantastic! It is revamped for the reality of the US audience, but it is still charming and a great pleasure to watch.
And it didn't make me feel as nauseated as watching Dora The Explorer or Go, Go Diego. You could show both series to children of the same age group and I believe that children would love George far more than the patronizing video game menatality style that Dora and Diego stem from.
