Let me apologize firsthand for my use of this language but this has been building up and damn it, I am going to vent! X-Men 187
You know, for the past year plus I have had several people try to ward me off of Marvel, telling me that sooner or later they would go too far and the bile would flow.
Today was that day.
What else can I say other ******** you Marvel! JUST ******** YOU!
What the hell goes thru your minds when you do s**t like this to your fans, you know, the ones who pay your damn salaries!? Have you ever once thought about what it does to the fans when you do s**t like this to their favorite characters, characters you've forced into their minds and their hearts?
For the past ten to twelve years, Gambit has been one of the premiere and most popular of the X-Men. He's been in some intriguing stories and went thru some heart rendering arcs as well.
Then what happened over the past few years? For some god forsaken reason your Marvel hack writers have reduced him to nothing more than a whipping boy, suffering the brunt of the X-Men's negativity and Rogue's whipping dog.
This was a character who had it all to stand alone and you completely and totally ruined him for his fans everywhere!
Turning him into the Horsem,an of Death was bad enough, but I gave it a chance. I thought to myself,"Maybe Marvel will do the right/smart thing and find a way to turn him back from that black skinned/albino haired Death to the charming scamp Gambit that captured the attentions of Marvel fans over a decade ago!
But no. What do you do? Oh you give the fans what they wanted in ending the relationship between Rogue and Gambit, but did they simply breakup? NOOOOO! You dipship writers wouldn't have that. You had to further Gambit's deterioration by having him just flat out admit loving Rogue and that be the reason he has to kill her to sever all ties to his former life!
Yes! Gambit was actually going to kill Rogue in cold blood! That was the last god damn straw in what it took for you Marvel dipshits to destroy what was once one of the best characters in your entire history!
Turning him into a cold blooded villian, and now at the end, bringing Sinister back into the picture to more than likely have him become Sinister's puppet ******** you Marvel. Just ******** you.

I understand what you're saying, and no offense, but I think there's a mountain of difference between losing a fight due to poor writing and utterly destroying a character and everything he is. (or was).

God, I'd DIE to have the chance to write a character who'd fallen that far and would need to come back to grace. Nothing is more interesting then a character who's sinned and ultimately has to rack their soul for redemption.

Depends on who you ask. stare having something done to a character you adore that makes no sense. true, gambit's was a HUGE bit more severe, but still, i feel the same about how Spiral was written.

Wally_West God, I'd DIE to have the chance to write a character who'd fallen that far and would need to come back to grace. Nothing is more interesting then a character who's sinned and ultimately has to rack their soul for redemption. Hopefully, I will get the chance to do that soon. Maybe i can snag Gambit as part of my group, if things go well.

...didn't Rogue leave Gambit to die in the Antarctic? Isn't that pretty much the same thing?
edit: And wanting to write a comic just to invalidate the writers before you seems... off. As fun as it would undoubtedly be.

Tad Ryerstad ...didn't Rogue leave Gambit to die in the Antarctic? Isn't that pretty much the same thing? Actually no. It's not the same at all. It was explained later on that she did it only because part of his mind that she absorbed was so full of self-loathing and doubt that he believed that he didn't deserve to live so that part was what made Rogue do it.
It's why she went back over and over to find him after it wore off. That was the real Rogue.
