[Information]
This is a mini-plot created by Felyn and Lethrossen for the family of Syeira and Uumikaji. In it, they will be travelling to many different lands in search of their son, Taabu. We will, at some point, need (a) lion(s) from all of them, considering they'll need to ask around as to his whereabouts. If you feel like you have a lion/lioness that you can commit to this from one of the many lands - leave us a message either here or in a pm. If you do in fact play a lion as one of the witnesses of Taabu's travel, we will have to talk and lay out some plot before you can join right away - and, of course, you'd have to wait until we were in your specific land.
On the other hand, if you would just like to join the rp at any point, please leave us a message asking permission first - we have a very set out plot line and we need to work lions into it before we can let them jump in.
This rp is by no means meant to be private, but the one main objective of Sye and Uumi is to find Taabu.
Each land will be submitted in 'chapters' as well. The Chapters will basically be the RPs the make up the plot, and there may be mini chapters between each - mostly smaller main thread RPs and the like.

She wasn't a bad mother, was she? Honestly, Syeira had thought that she had been the best mother she could have been under the circumstances that presented themselves to their dysfunctional family. Sure, she taught him more of the way of protecting oneself from the cruel predators that lurked in the minds of others - she taught him to put up the walls that would save him from heart break and torture; the walls she had taught herself as a child. Perhaps she should have spent more time teaching him the ways of the lion's world: hunting, living, surviving. If she had, perhaps she would feel a little better about this situation. Still, she had always thought that was more of a father/son experience - she had waited for Uumi to teach him.
But Uumi was still learning to love. Waiting had been a mistake.
Still, even if it was a mistake to depend on Uumi sometimes (considering how unstable he was even in the depths of his own mind), she still couldn't find another soul that should be informed first. After all, even if it was an awkward situation for the Pridelander prince, Taabu was still his son - and he still took at least a degree of responsibility for him.
So it was, with a pounding heart and racing mind, that Syeira was bounding through the emeraude blades of field and glade - weaving her way through the lands of her pride as she hurridly sought out the scent of her lover. The one lion she had never thought to trust in this world as a child, and yet, the only one she thought to trust now.
"Uumi," she cried out, the words broken and tainted with the puffs of strained breaths that burned through her chest. Pausing, atop a heavy slab of granite, rather randomly placed amongst the strong shoots of reeds that surrounded it, but a vantage point that she couldn't beat at the moment. "Uumikaji," she said, softer this time and more to herself, with her body aching and her eyes shutting weakly, "I need you."
As it was, Syeira had never before let herself work up to such an emotional level. Syeira was level headed, calm, collected. Even in her anger she carried her wall of ease - though colder and unkinder she may be. At this point in her life, it was the first breakdown she could remember in her lifetime. Even as a child, she never cried in her frustration.
But this was her son. Her child. Her blood.
And he was missing.

Uumikaji was unaware of the events taking place, events to a much bigger situation. He was seated on the hills to the south boundry of the kusini lands, gaze on the sky. Often he liked to look at the sky, it was easiest to have thoughts, or not to have thoughts at all. It was odd, usually a place either brought about one or the other. This place, and the sky, could bring about either. And often Uumi did not get to chose. The lanky male shifted a bit and tore his gaze from the brilliant blue, a blue that often made him think of Syeira. He began to hunch over, foot itching at his thick mane of black. He growled lightly, he still was not used to his mane and he hated how itchy it was.
In the middle of his scratching his left ear flickered, and he froze in the action. Was that Sye he'd just heard? He lowered his foot ever so slowly, thinking hard. It had been her voice, a very worried voice. He didn't often hear emotion from Sye, only on rare occurances. He rose quickly, his muscles shifting under his lanky frame as he headed down the hill. Usually when he heard Sye call he'd ignore it until she actually found him, probably much to her dismay. He still felt awkward about her, he was still trying to get used to the feelings Taabu and she inspired in him. More or less he was just dragging the whole thing out!
His firey eyes flickered over the grasses as he headed forward, quickly down from the hills.
"Syeira?" He called out, it sounded a little awkward.
It sounded worried.

Syeira was usually used to the way Uumi ignored her calls - mostly because he only did it in times when she didn't need him right away. Sure, it grew to be annoying when she had to ask him something or was just sort of looking for his company - but then, it wasn't often that she went looking for him when he wasn't around. The pair had a lot of kinks to work out in this relationship and Syeira had always figured it would come with time. They were in no hurry - after all, by every right, they were still fairly young, even if they were parents and adults.
Though, this time, she really, really needed him. So, one can imagine the relief when those tones came through the silence that enveloped the surrounding landscape. It took only an instant for her feet to propel her forward into the general direction she heard those vocals - and soon she came to stand before the lover she often treated with a degree of distance. Her panting chest would give her no relief as she began to speak - and yet, she spoke oddly clear for a lion caught in the moment of frenzy.
"Please," she whispered, swallowing hard, shaking her head in an attempt to rid herself of that pale blonde tuft that hung before her burning blue eyes, "please tell me you've seen our son somewhere."
Well, that was the number one clue that she was upset: she referred to him as their son. Not Taabu. Not her little boy. Their son.

Uumi's feet stilled as she appeared and moved toward him, out of breath. Where had she been running from? He schooled his expression, even now. Though his heart ached with the need to comfort her, to tell her it was alright. He did not even know what was wrong, did he?
His tail flicked and swallowed slowly, gaze mostly foccused on her blonde tuft as she tried to remove it. Please twice in one sentance? Their as in something of both of theirs? And then his mind actually put these words together, forming what she'd actually said. His expression seemed to shatter, and he looked a little surprised. Why was she looking for Taabu, why wasn't Taabu with her?
"What?" His question was faint and it wasn't really a 'please repeat' or anything like that, he was just shocked. "I... I haven't seen Taabu, I thought he was with you... how long has he been gone from your sight?" He tried to word that in the least offensive way possible, he didn't want to upset her anymore. Or perhaps he was supposed to have Taabu last? He'd be in deep wilderbeast s**t if that was the case.
He was trying to stay calm though, trying to stay... stay as he always did. But the worry was beginning to build in him, too. As much as he avoided admitting it... Taabu was his world. Taabu and Syeira both.

Those words, as they left his mouth, were enough to make her world come crashing down. Uumi had been her last hope, the last place she had looked to find her son, and yet - she had known even before she found him that Taabu was most likely no where near him. Taabu and Uumi did not often do things together of their own accord - true, they loved one another, and each knew that, but that strange gap between Uumi and his family was enough to be obvious to even a child.
Syeira frowned, tail flicking, her body slowly trying to bring itself back into it's shell. He obviously wasn't anywhere he wanted to be found - she knew that, she knew how her son worked. There was no need getting worked up now if she had to find him - panic only made things harder and longer to get through. She needed a clear head if she was going to calculate the actions her son would take. Though, from panic to calm in one instant was enough to convince anyone she was having insane mood swings.
With a sigh, she slowly lowered herself into a sitting position - and though she looked calmer and more at peace, there was a gleam in her icey eyes that echoed that of defeat. She just shook her head then, tossing that pale lock to and fro in the midst of her vision, "He's older now, so sometimes I let him go places on his own. I did, after all."
She took another deep breath, filling her burning lungs with the cool crisp air of her mother and father's lands. "I woke up without him this morning, but I figured maybe he had just gone to the watering hole. I don't jump to conclusions, and I don't know what would possess him to just leave." She swallowed, nodding slowly, in a way that seemed she was trying to convince herself it was alright to go on. "I've spent the last few hours trying to find him. I looked in every place I've ever taken him in these lands, but he's not.."
She paused then, as her voice broke - even in her calmed shell she was not completely herself. Taabu had been her world since the day he was born, the companion before Uumi; the love before Uumi. "He's not here anymore," she said finally, the sapphire optics slowly turning to stare up into the blood pools that reminded her so much of her son's, "he's gone. Uumi.. he's, he's gone."

This was enough to make any lion want to rip his mane out, more so that Sye was still on her mood-swing kick. He thought she'd gotten over that, but apparently not. Though he supposed he could understand the walls, which was really that 'calm' about her. Walls made a good defense, as long as there were no cracks in them and they were not weak. Right now, even if Sye would not admit it to her own self, her walls were weak. It was understandable too, her only son missing. Uumi tried to think slowly. "He's not in these lands." He was more confirming it in his mind than asking that. He winced slightly and suddenly moved forward, nuzzling into Syeira.
He didn't really like Sye like this, not one bit. He liked his confident, intelligent, icey female. The one that so easily tried to dominate him, and most of the time won, even if he did not admit these things to himself. "It is alright, Syeira." He murmered softly, his actions a little stiff. Stiff as his words, even. Why would Taabu want to leave, and why would he do so with out telling his parents? Uumi leaned back again, a sort of far-off look in his eyes. Well the obvious answer is...
"We set off to look for him." He stated, letting a sort of demanding confidence enter it's tone. "He can't be too far off..." He muttered, this time his voice dropping again. Uumi didn't really enjoy taking lead while Sye was right there, so capable to do it herself.
"Does your mother know?" He wouldn't even bring up Asi, he loathed the moron.

For a moment, Syeira kept her muzzle pressed into the delicate tressels of her lover's main - hiding her eyes behind the darkness that presented itself with his shadow. Hide behind Uumi; what a concept. Really, what was coming over little Syeira these days?
With a deep sigh, she nodded, pushing herself up sturdily onto her paws - standing there with that rigid posture that spoke out a defiance to the world, a defiance and a pride that she most certainly did not feel at this moment. But the wall was there, and as long as it was up, she was most certainly far from beind defeated. At least, she hoped so. She sighed, and nodded, "yes, we need to go find him. I don't know where he could have gone to. Maybe he went to the pridelands? To see your mother?" It was a long shot, but maybe that was it.
She sighed then, shaking her head and turning to glance back into the direction she knew held her mother and father's den. "No, mother doesn't know, no one does. I didn't have time to stop and tell anyone. I just went looking. I stopped by the den earlier, but no one was there - I was just.. I was just looking for him when I went. I didn't care about anyone else." She frowned, realizing how bad that sounded - but Uumi would know otherwise.
It was her only child.

He was still tyring to figure out why Taabu would put Sye through this, if anyone. Taabu was a very intelligent lion, he'd know that he would cause his mother great stress, forget what if it cause Uumi anything at all.
He listened slowly to her, how she hadn't told anyone. And to his ears that didn't sound bad at all, Taabu came first in her life, and first in his own. Though he probably didn't know that himself, this was probably proof of it. "Do you want to leave now?" They were adults, it didn't matter if they left the lands or not. Especially for such an important reason, like their son.
Asi and Ari could figure it out, unless they spotted someone on the way out.

Syeira frowned, though, at the thought of just up and leaving without telling her parents. After all, who knew how long they would be gone. On top of that, her father didn't trust her mate all that much - in fact, he had threatened to kill Uumi on numerous occasions. If she just up and left with him, her father might worry. After all, even if she was grown, she was still her daddy's little princess.
"I want to leave as soon as we can," she said quietly, her tail flickering violently behind her as she stood there, brows furrowed deep in her calculation and consideration. "But we need to tell my parents - if he comes back, they need to know to keep him here, that we're looking for him. We can't have them just letting him wander off again if he beats us home or something."
She frowned, her gaze settled on the horizon in the direction of pride rock, though it slowly turned back onto the direction of her parents' den. What was her son thinking? Off and leaving like he did? There was some reason, she knew it, that her son had left and gone. He had some sort of knowledge he was seeking, or he meant to punish someone. But who? His mother? His father? Certainly not.
Maybe there was someone in the lands he didn't want to see anymore.
Who knew - all the thought was making her head hurt.

Uumi almost grumbled at this, but he refrained from doing so. This ment they had to seek out her mom or her dad, but he'd much prefer them to come upon her mother, because once again he hated Asikari. His tail flicked slowly and he began to move, nudging at her shoulder with his nose. "Let's go find them then." He spoke softly, almost in a questioning manner.
Odd, Uumi eager to do something. Then again, this was his son too.
Perhaps the meeting would be breif and then they could just leave, travel as far as they could and then sleep. That would be best in his mind, he didn't feel like sleeping tonight anyhow. Not with at least going some sort of distance toward the pridelands, which seemed to be where they were going first.

For once, Syeira was glad that Uumi wasnt making too much of a deal about going to see her parents. True, Uumi much preferred her mother and near enough hated her father (probably a mutual sort of hate when it came right down to it, for Asi was far from fond of her mate), but Syeira knew that he never liked talking to either of them for too long -d espite the fact that they were king and queen of this pride. He avoided them as clearly as he avoided many others.
"Alright," she said quietly as she fell into pace beside her lover - walking closer to him than she normally would, for the front she had was fragile and she needed some sort of c omfort from him - not something she asked for very often. "We can check by the den first, it's been a while since I dropped in there today," she said quietly, tail flicking too and fro with a little jerk. PErhaps, if one of her parents were back at the den, it would keep them from having to search too long and they could just be on their way.
Who knows what kind of scolding she would get for losing her son though - she didn't think she'd be able to stand it if her father frowned upon her for it.
What a way to make herself feel better.

Uumi nodded slowly. The den, most often where the king lazed about. He sniffed lightly, mostly in disgust. Asi was always sleeping about and being lazy, as far as it was in Uumi's mind. Uumi actually never came upon Asi when he was doing things like patrolling the grounds or playing with his cubs, and indeed Uumi had no care too. It was amusing though, that he would know Asi's most common where-about. But it also couldn't be said that you could avoid another by not knowing where they were. The easiest way to avoid one was to famaliarize one's self with the other's where-abouts and habits.
Ari liked to stray from the den, usually on the hills is where Uumi found her. Which was some what of a bother, since he liked those hills so much. He shook his head softly, glancing sideways to the female beside him. Closer than she often came while walking with him, she must have been very shaken. After a moment he leaned over a little, nuzzling into her neck. He gave no explination, he just kept on walking.
After another several minutes the dens were coming into vew, Uumi's ears pressed back against his skull. How he hated talking to the parents.

And true to Uumi's thoughts, Asi was napping in the den. The cubs were off on their own, or perhaps with Ari. He hadn't been sure when he'd slipped into the cool area. He just knew that he was dead tired, often lions getting on with age were. The large male was on his side, head resting softly on his paws and tail flicking contently. His chest rose and fell in a rythmic way, a key give-away that the male was asleep. His rumbling snores seemed to fill the den, though he wasn't fully asleep. It was a lion's sleep, where you were always alert to your surroundings. Well, maybe half-aware for Asi.
