Okay so we got the idea that the boys got rules. We've seen books, movies, comics and fic to explain their side of the society. Now what about the girls?

So much on them is only from the male perspective and not really all that clear. We know they are bigger than the males. That they are just as violent. That they rule over lands taken over by the yautja. That on some level part of the hunt is to get the attention of the ladies so they can mate. They have young and teach them to survive. Males at some age leave to be with a clan while females stay with their mothers.

Okay great...but what else? They can't just be sitting around looking at eachother all day. So what do they do? What is their political structure? What do they teach suckers (male and female if there is a differance?)? To they work out the technology? How do they work out borders? Who's in what clan? How do they react to rival clans? I'd love peoples imput.

I always wondered what all they did. I thought that they probably workd as cultutral leaders/political types. They preserve the culture and rule the conquered land. They probably also keep the natives in thee conquered areas in line. So, they are probably a mix of politicians, soldiers, spiritual leaders, caregivers, and academics.

They probably do anything they want to. Depending if the female has a child, it will spend its time training it and protecting it. maybe the clan will go to war with a rival clan, or maybe they'll just sit around most of the time. Yes, all males are taught mostly by their mother before they leave the clan. They probably do everything you mentioned.

Well since the females are the big and strong ones, it may have been the other way around... When it comes to early society signs seem to point toward the hunt for honor really starting as just an attempt to impress the females and say "hey, I deserve sex!"

I have a feeling that the females kind of had more power than the males to start with. Like Irvine said up there, they are big girls eek and rather brutal it seems to males xd . From what I understand it seems more like the females got to make the rules. If the guys wanted to ever get any, they had to be like "yo, i'm big...i'm bad....I can survive against things."

Female thinks "oooo, kids with him would survive really well." as well as "hot diggity dog I get to get jiggy and I won't kill him." ::coughs painting a visual of that in her mind and not sure what to do with it.:: So since a female could take down a male and are the one's that continue the species by selecting the strongest and the best of the pack as it were...guys probably don't mess with them much or question their laws without risking their lives.

As for the a-sexual thing...yeah before I started reading thing, after I saw the first movie with Dutch and all I though maybe it was a mutant or something. They never said he was from space save in a trailer and I spaced that out. It wasn't till the second move and a few comic books I was like "hold the phone...do they just split like mitosis or what? Where are all the girls?"

My mom realized I was going to be a strange child after that conversation. xp

On the second...I think it is important but not to the same level as the boys. I'm sure they have to show off to other females that they are forces to be reconed with and keep a dominance for their clan or try to gain power and control over and area. Maybe even as I've hypothesised-to find out which one of them is best of the best for mateing.

I suscribe to the idea that not all males and not all females mate. Sad but a possibility. More primitive males would probably be more attracted to the bigger and stronger females and out of that it might have evolved into a competition between females for who was strongest in their packs. I still think they have less of a need to hunt for trouphies but probably still hunt to keep areas and packs safe, to prove their power, and it might even be kind of recreation and for teaching.

That's cause they are very focused space lizard things. Hunt good...killing things...good. Pain...good. ::grunts:: I don't know. You'd think someone might have writen something about the females or a little more indepth but like Prodigis said, it really didn't come up as anything. Most seem more intrested in the blood bath and life on a male ship as the readership I believe for the books is not mostly female readers.
