Newt had been feeling exceptionally ill all morning. He blamed heat stroke, or something along those lines. Dehydration. Logical, possible explinations for the dizzyspells and splitting headache. By the time the afternoon rolled around, he was even starting to feel a little better and so busied himself once more attempting to rid the cafeteria of it's almost constant layer of animal hair and general sheadings.

Cass's more human sense of taste had been acting up again; with this in mind, she had decided that a leisurely slither down to the cafeteria for a glass of chocolate milk or something similar was in order. After a bit of a complicated manuever to get all of her tail in through the door without anything getting pinched, and straightened, and spied Newt.
"Oh," she said. "Hello."

At the sound of another islander, Newt flinched and wobbled around, straight and nervious as he gripped his broom. "I'll b-be out in-" At the sight of her, though, his eyes widened further and he actually took a step back, "Ah-" His usually sickly skin was even paler than usual, slick with a steady sweat that seemed to have formed. "I... ah..."

Oh, damn. "Just me, remember?" Cassidy said cautiously. "Just Cass? I'm harmless." Still, she kept her distance. There was no need to appear aggressive.
Look at him sweat, though! She had to suppose it was fairly hot out, but she didn't sweat anymore and it was a bit hard to judge.

"I- ah-" His voice broke and he cleared his throat, his posture relaxing ever so slightly. He definatly looked ill, though, as he whiped his brow on his coverall's sleeve, "I'm s-sorry... I ah... w-was s-startled- ... y-you... aren't g-going to... to eat m-me, are you? Only... I h-had that t-trouble w-weeks ago and have b-been a b-bit wary-"

"Eat you?!" Oh, was she really that scary? Cass shook her head. "I don't think my mouth will even open wide enough, even if I wanted to. Which I don't. Really." Oh, if it ever got to the point where she would... that was not a nice thought.
She tilted her head a little. "Are you all right? You look like you could use a drink..."

"Wh-what? N-no... I'm... I'm f-fine... j-just.. over w-worked or... s-something..." He swallowed, wiping his sweaty palms on his side as he gripped his broom tighter. His skin was looking peakier than ever in the haligen light of the cafeteria, a little too yellowish.

"Are you sure?" Cass risked coming closer, although slowly. "Let me get you some water or something. It's pretty hot out. You might just be dehydrated..."

He blinked, brows furrowing, "I d-don't feel d-de-de-dehydrated... " He Felt alright, generally, at least generally. There was an odd tingling sensation all over that he couldn't quite explain. He couldn't see the skin of his face steadily grow greener, afterall.

"Are you sure? You look--" Cassidy stopped short. "Oh my god." She wasn't imagining that, was she? He really was turning green? He didn't seem to be in any sort of pain, at any rate, but if it was just beginning...
Oh, s**t. She did not know how to deal with this. "Um. I really.... don't want to alarm you, but... " She raised a finger thoughtfully, her mouth slightly agape.

With a confused expression, he raised a hand as well, as though trying to figure out what she could possibly mean. That was when he felt the tingling and pinching of the webbing began creeping up his fingers, catching his attention. His hands jerked, his broom clattering to the floor, "Ah- Ah! N-no-!"

Employee or not, there was no doubt what was happening now, at least for Cass. Not that the employee-thing meant much; she could attest to that. "Oh, oh... stay calm, it'll be okay. Does it hurt? You want me to get something?" She began wringing her hands, at a complete loss.

He shifted on his feet, his boots becoming tighter as his toes swelled and webbed to match his fingers. His cries of alarm were soon muffled, though, as his tongue swelled and gooped to the roof of his mouth with a thickened, sticky siliva. Pawing at his face, he staggered backward away from the feathered snake-woman, shreiking in horror around his shifting tongue.

Oh, god. What had they given him? Cassidy extended her hands slowly in his direction, following as close as she dared. At least he didn't seem to be in much pain... that she could tell. "Calm down," she pleaded. "It's easier if you don't panic. Oh please, Newt." What if he tripped over something and broke his leg?! She was beginning to panic a little, herself.

As he managed to just barely register that the sticky mass in his mouth was his own tongue, there was a horrible, audible crack and Newt fell to the floor, catching himself with his hands as his legs folded up in a disturbingly froggy angle. He howled in the sudden sharp pain and tingling following sensations of his muscles readgusting to his bone's new angles. The changes seemed to stop as soon as this was done, leaving the man panting heavily with a paniced expression.
