Ianna was out with Malen, Del and Kishi for the day and Coailiann had insisted on staying home. There was nothing she could really hurt herself on and the headquarters was a very safe place to be. Thus, Kay was staring at her harp, debating practicing. She'd done her self-imposed schedual of 1 hour already, but she hadn't been getting too much better.
According to her daddy, she sounded like a strangled cat on heroin...Whatever that was. She didn't quite understand, because her singing voice was very pretty.
But apparently, her harp playing was mediocre at best. Oh well, she had just started! She couldn't be the next...uh...Well...She couldn't think of anyone at the moment, but that was okay.
Her long white hair was boredly twirled around her finger, green eyes moving from the harp to the door. Maybe there could be some excitement today...If not, she'd go into the library and attempt to learn how to read.

"Oh oh oh oh..." came a disdainful cry. Luciel, with Callix in tow, burst in through the door to the HQ. She looked hurried and distressed, head darting around the room with a frustrated sigh. She needed a bathroom. Now. Spying a hallway and completely ignoring Coailiann, the mancubus dashed down the corridor, praying the comode was somewhere therein.
Callix was left, dazed and confused, at the threshold of the door. Mindlessly, he pushed the door shut and fixed his hair. He tried to shrug it off as any suave gentlemen would do, but what he lacked in age, he made up for in adorablility. When things calmed down, he spotted the white-haired toddler (now child) he knew from before.
He couldn't start the mind-speaking like he remembered, so instead he gave the best greeting he could. "Bonjour, Kay. Ca va?"

Coailiann raised a brow at the lady she had seen before rushing past without so much as a hello. Well. That was rude. No harm as it was something she could easily dismiss, Kay pushed herself off the couch and bounded towards Callix with the biggest smile she could muster on her face.
Her friend! Memories of being pulled away from eachother came immediately and she giggled, "Callix!"
See, she could speak now! But, sadly, she still had no wings to speak of. And even if she could speak, he probably couldn't...Very well, anyway. Perhaps she should go to mind speak?
How are you, friend?!
Carefully, Coailiann smoothed the pretty blue dress she wore down and brushed her long white hair from her face. No longer short and choppy, the locks reached her rear...And she looked more like what she was than before. Minus the wings, of course.

I'm alright, I guess. Bored. Maman ran off. She had to pee. Don't mind her.
He stretched his wings momentarily and set them back in place. She was taller now, older. Older than he was. He wondered if she would still think of him in the same way, or if she had moved on to play with other children her age. Callix put a hand to his hip, slightly frustrated over the fact that he hadn't grow any taller. He felt...short.
The toddler looked her up and down. My, had she grown. And grown beautifully. He looked her straight in the eyes, truley impressed. No wings, mind you, but everything else made up for it.
You grew up!

She nodded, green eyes glittering happily as she sat down on one of the plush carpets. It was better than the hard floor, and it was most certainly, at times, better than the couch. God knew what her parents did on the couch.
Yes, I grew up. I'm a little taller than you now, but not by much! Truth be told, she was only about two inches taller than him. Definitely on the short side, unfortunately, Sit with me?
Maybe she'd play the harp for him, later!

I'd love to sit with you.
The Incubus wandered over to the couch, waiting for her to sit first. Gentleman's thing, he learned over the past few weeks. Watching those shows on television and being told by Maman that being polite to the ladies was very important had helped him learn the ropes of being more mature. Just because he wasn't physically there didn't mean he couldn't act the part.
Maybe if he acted more grown-up, the grown-ups would pay more attention to him. He hated being ignored more than anything else. At least Kay wasn't too far beyond him as far as physical age was concerned. He'd feel even further behind had she become a teen since their last meeting. And teens were no fun anyway.
You gotten any chocolate since I saw you?

Coailiann stood from the rug and moved over to the couch, staring at it a moment before hopping onto it and smiling warmly at Callix, white hair falling over her delicately featured face.
Magic fridge, Coailiann giggled, pointing over to the mini fridge, Just put your hand it 'n' it'll come out with whatever you want.
She tended to abuse it to get apple pie when her mom wasn't around.

Magic fridge? That's not fair. Maman doesn't have a magic fridge. What else are you going to tempt me with?
Callix made a face, as if hurt and depressed. It was somewhat true. Seemed unfair, to him, that everyone was growing and everyone had magic fridges and flight and the power to pull tridents from out of no where. But one day, he'd show them. And then he'd get a magic fridge, would be able to fly, and could pull tridents from nowhere. What use the trident-pulling would be, he didn't know. But it didn't matter. It was just...cool.
He idly stretched his toes within his shoes. If his Guardian was gone forever, lost in the maze to the bathroom, he really wouldn't mind. She was kind of annoying anyway. Probably some sort of rule for parents. Be stifling, annoying, and make you eat nasty vegetables like peas. Peas were the worst invention ever.
What's it like to be older? he suddenly asked. He wanted to know what he was missing out on.

You should live with me! I like you better than my sisters. this was said matter-of-factly as Coailiann looked at the incubus. She liked him as much as Yashima, and that was saying something since Yashima was her best friend...She hadn't seen him in so long, though!
At Callix's question, Coailiann thought. What was it like to be older? I can walk better...'n' I can talk. So it's not as frustrating. I can be alone more, momma doesn't need to be around as much...But... she paused, But I gotta take care o' my sisters.
She didn't like that much. And the chores.

I have a sister, but she's a smelly baby that no one cares about. So I don't have to even be near her. I like that. But I wish I could talk better. Or that people knew French. Maman looks at me like she's stupid.
But she was stupid, so it made sense. No one understood greatness, he guessed. They'd learn, though. They'd learn. Another stretch of the wings. So there was good and bad to growing up. More responsibility, but then there were the good things like better speech and walking. A double-edged sword. He sighed.
I can't live with anybody else. Maman said that people move out when they're older. And I'm not older. But I could run away. I saw that on teevee once. With a blanket on a stick with my stuff in it.

I think your momma would look here first, don't you? Coailiann pouted, Unless we ran away together!?
She didn't think that was such a great idea. They were both very young and likely couldn't last too long without the adults, as much as they'd like to. Thinking a moment, Coailiann shrugged, I have a problem speaking in english. Apparently, I flit between Gaelic and English so often that it makes my momma's head hurt.

I can't speak good enough English to make sense. Maman catches some of my French, like I and me and stuff like that, but... she reads some book called "French for Stupid People" or something. Maybe your maman needs something like that for you.
No, running away at this age? Bad idea. No chocolate, no warm bed, no blanket. No Ami or Didier or Gigi. And that was no fun at all. Maybe he'd run away when he was older and had the green stuff people got food with. Or the plastic rectangle that was like the same thing, only not.
The adult world was a very confusing place.

Maybe. I like Gaelic. It's pretty. Almost as pretty as French she teased, a glint in her green eyes as she lay her head on Callix's shoulder, white hair falling over her head and hiding her face.
"Dlúthchara a grá"
See, it was such a pretty language, wasn't it? Coailiann wiggled a little bit against him and stroked his wings, At least you have your wings. They're pretty.

Callix inwardly grinned and let his cheek rest on the top of her head. He felt better now. Somehow, girls never failed to make him feel better. And he still had no idea why. But that was for another time.
"J'aime vos yeux."
I'm glad I at least have my wings. I can't fly, but... You have hair and you can walk and speak. But you have pretty eyes. Gaelic is nice too. You have that. Your maman doesn't have to understand it.
He cast a glance across the room. In pleasant times like this, time seemed to stand still. He didn't care where his Guardian was, or even if she'd return ever again. Right now, it didn't matter. Life outside could cease to exist, and Callix would be happy here.

What did you say, in French? Coailiann asked, reaching over to stroke her friend's hair lightly. She loved the bright color of it and completely envied it. She was so...Colorless. She didn't feel up to par when everyone else, even her mother, had more color than she did.
You have color, though. Your eyes, your hair, your skin...I'm plain. My eyes are my only color.
White hair, pale flesh...Yes, Coailiann was a little bitter about her lack of color, but that was okay.
And you'll be able to fly some day. You have to fly with me, remember?
