Say a Prayer Please
I was coming home Friday and there was an accident at the end of my street. I asked if they needed 911 called and they said no that everyone was ok. I started to turn down my street and saw this girl laying by the road so I stopped. I ran over to her and she was moaning and it was obvious that her hip was broken and that she had possible broken ribs and that her stomach was injured with possible internal injuries. There was another man beside me that was on the phone with 911 and as I felt for a pulse I told him to tell them my observations and that her pulse was very weak.
She stopped moaning and she was not breathing..... Her eyes were closed and I asked her to moan if she could hear me before starting mouth to mouth. She started moaning on her own and would stop again... We kept asking her to moan so we know she was breathing. I do not know if she could hear us but every time we ask she did. This was the only response we could get out of her so we stuck with it.
A few minutes later this guy runs up and leans over her and I told him to get off of her because he was on her pelvis. He pushed me over into the street and laid on top of her..... I went to the other side of her and kept talking to her and kept her moaning and kept his body from making contact with her because he was still over her. When the cops showed up he got him up and away from her.
Paramedics showed up and I told him my observations and he took her pulse and asked for an airway kit. They worked on her for a few minutes and took her away.
The guy that hovered over her is the one who hit her. He hit her on purpose. and not only that he hit her and left her there, ran to a nearby house of someone he knew and changed his clothes before coming back. One of the other guys and me both asked where her purse was because it was on the side of the road but it was no longer there. Turns out it was thrown in the woods by the [jerk] that hit her.
After the ambulance left we gave the cops our info and I took the kids home. I waited a few and called the hospital to check on her and they said that trauma was working on her and they were trying to contact family. A little while later someone came to the house and told me that she had died and the detectives needed to talk to me. So I went back down and told them that I could smell alcohol on him and that he left the scene.
CSI showed up and they were going over the scene for about 3 hours at least.
A little while later I talked to an officer and he said she was in surgery so I called the hospital back to check..... They said of course that they couldnt give me any info but that she was in surgery.
I had yet another woman come over yesterday and say that Shanna was in SICU from what she had heard so I called the hospital and they informed me after I told them I just wanted to know if she was alive that yes they had her there. I left my number for the family to call when they could.
Today this same woman found me and gave me Shannas mothers phone number and told me she wanted to talk to me about the accident. I called her and she wanted to meet at the hospital
I went to the hospital and it turns out that she had surgery to repair her spleen and her bladder and that her pelvis was shattered. there are marks on her stomach where she was hit and she is on a ventilator and in a coma. When she wakes up she will be taken to Orlando and she will have surgery on her pelvis to repair it.
While I was there 2 women showed up and told her mom that they were friends of Shannas and that they wanted to see her. She refused because they stated they knew James, the guy that hit her.
No one knows where James is because he got away somehow while he was in the hospital. The cops lost him. He said he had a brain tumor and he doesnt care what happens to him anymore. Shannas mother told these 2 women that showed up to let him know she knows he hit her on purpose and that he had better hope that the brain tumor kills him before she finds him.
So what I want anyone to do that reads this post is to pray for Shanna and her mother, her step father, and her sisters Brittany and Nicole. She needs it for she has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
