The Layout of Terror!

It's that time again. A time for change, P-GoD is recruiting it's mods and most importantly of all Gaia is changing it's layout. Everybody outside P-GoD are complaining and whining to the mods of Gaia to change it, but here today, we will focus on.. just what the p-godders think about it?

"That picture in the top left can be eaten by my imaginary dog!" Said Suisheu, a well known generous member of the guild.

"I've got to say, and I've said this a million times before, the fonts suck. I want good, ol' Verdana back.

It takes forever to get onto the freakin' inventory, it loads for five minutes and my avatar hasn't changed a bit.

I agree, too much white. There was a feedback reply on the Layout Feedback thread saying 'we need more white', I think the GS took that WAY too seriously.

The navigation is killing me, also.

Oh, and the smallness of the avatars on the top-right corner.

And the mainpage looks extremely cluttered.

Other then that, everything else is pretty good.." Zanareil said with great courage and no fear of the mods of Gaia. After seeing Zanareil have the courage to speak up against the Gaia mods, Alynne spoke up too!

"- The thread links don't change colour after you click them.
- Hard to navigate! The navigation tabs open a new page, I liked the ability to change from flash/HTML and open in new tabs, and also hide the original (awesome) banner.
- The font is horrible.
- The colour and overall feel is stupid....it's not going to be summer all year round.
- The white makes everything seem like a giant page stretcher.
- I can't seem to concentrate on anything..
- The avatar picture in the top right is too small.
- Some font is too large, and some is too small.
- Blah blah blah. It's just really awful. I'd love to see them upgrade the previous one and give it back to us, or at least let us change between them."

And so the p-godders of P-GoD explained what could be fixed for the new layout on gaia rather than complain about it and demand to change it back like most people did outside of P-GoD.
An ironic thing I found while lurking around gaia was what the announcement said about the new layout on gaia, Jakobo posted that the layout will have more white based on the feedbacks they got on the last layout in December, many people were complaining that the color for the last layout was too dark and unwelcoming, but now, people are complaining that there's too much white. Personally, I find the white fine, but I guess many others don't feel the same. After reading about the layout in the announcements and seing many people's reaction, I ask the mods this question,

"Do you really think you can please everybody?" Everybody has different taste and different opinions, so I suggest the mods to stick with one layout, there will always be criticizers on every move you make that changes Gaia, not everyone with be happy and there's nothing you can really do about it.

(P.S. Actually that's might be about half true.. perhaps if you create more than one layout or get the gaians to create some layouts and then the gaians will vote off which layout they like best, there might be less gaians complaining about it!)
