So. At a recent trip to the circus (I'm still not sure why I ever decided to go) I met this odd kid and dealt with some carnies. I came out with a bruised cheek and my jaw was kinda sore for a few days, but otherwise I was fine. Or so I thought. Well, physically, I really was otherwise fine.
The thing is, after that incident, I couldn't get that kid out of my head. There was just something about him. He had the kind of eyes that just bury themselves into your memory and refuse to leave. I don't know if it's because they're the same icy blue color as mine or if it's because one is always dialated so even at a glance you can tell something is off. Whatever the reason, I finally came to the conclusion that I would have to meet him again.
Eventually I tracked him down to a very strange mansion run by some guy called GD. I'd rather not repeat my experience there, so I'll just tell you that when I finally left, I was holding the kid's hand and we went back to my car together. In other words, I adopted him.
So far, he's been kinda quiet. Apparently the poor kid had a previous guardian, but for some reason he ended an orphan at that mansion again. So I guess it will take a while for him to trust me. Maybe I'll ask him what his favorite foods are and we can have that for dinner tonight.
I haven't gotten a good look at what clothes he brought with him, but what I did see was mostly dresses. We should go shopping soon. Dresses are great and all, and I'm sure they look good on him, but a wardrobe should have a little more variety to it. Although I mostly wear pants, I do still have a couple skirts and a dress in my closet. It's not important that I rarely wear them...
What the-? I just heard a loud noise from upstairs. Oh wait, I haven't introduced Mikhail to Keijou or Kreef yet. Something tells me he just met one of them. I better go check...

Dear Journal,
It's already been a month since I came here, so I figured I should start keeping this journal. Um... let's see... what should I start with....
Well, when I first got here, Milano (I guess she's technically my mom now, but she insists I just call her by her name) helped me carry my stuff to my room, then said she'd give me a tour of the house after dinner so I could have a chance to start unpacking. It's not like I have a whole lot, but I guess she was letting me get used to just my room first, or something.
At first I just kind of sat on the bed for awhile and just looked around the room and at my stuff and kind of wondered if I'd just end up packing it again before long. I still think it could happen.
Anyway, I finally started unpacking and as I was taking something out of my suitcase (I don't remember what it was) this small grey thing jumped out at me and I was so startled that I threw the thing I'd just taken out, which then hit a clock that was sitting on the dresser and knocked it onto the floor.
Turns out the grey thing was Kreef, a pet of Milano's. Even now he keeps getting into my stuff! He seems to think he's a ninja or something.
At dinner I met Keijou. Milano says he's her assistant. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but he seems to do most of the chores around the house. Like cooking and dishwashing and cleaning and such. Milano also cooks once in awhile, but she's really not that great of a cook. What I can't figure out is where Keijou sleeps at night. So far as I've seen, he doesn't even have his own room. I don't think he shares Milano's room, but I'm not really sure... There's also just something odd about him that I can't quite place my finger on. It's not just his weird fuchsia and green two-tone hair (which Kreef sort of has too, actually...) or the way his face never shows emotion, there's something else too... It's really starting to bug me.
Um... what else should I write..... Well, so far Milano seems nice enough. She's been taking me to a lot of places like the zoo and the park and a couple movies. She keeps saying we're going to go shopping soon, but we still haven't yet. I hope we go soon. I would like some new clothes. The ones I have from my last home got kind of worn out while I was staying at the mansion.
Oh, sounds like dinner is ready. I guess I'm done with this first entry.

Milano knocked on the door to Mikhail's room before opening it. "Hey, Mikhail it's- why's the light off?" The only light in the room came from the rays of the setting sun through the window. She opened the door further to let more light in.
"The light hurts my eye...." Mikhail replied without looking up from the book he was reading.
"Hurts your... oh... the eye... right.... larger pupil means more light........."
Mikhail looked up after Milano had been silent for more than a few seconds. She was staring into the distance as if she was pondering something. "Um... you came in here because....?"
Milano's focus snapped back to the present. "Huh? Oh, right. Dinner's ready. "
"Ok, I'll come down after this chapter."
"Don't take too long, or Kreef will steal all the fishsticks." Milano closed the door again and headed to the kitchen, and made a mental note to add "trip to the hardware store" to her To Do list. Along with "make a To Do list."

Dear Journal, It's been a long time since I wrote here. Honestly, I had forgotten I even had this until one of my teachers suggested keeping a journal as a way to improve your writing ability. I don't know about that, but it made me think that as long as I have this, I may as well use it.
Something that's changed since last time I wrote here would be that one day when I came home from school, I found that Milano had replaced all the light switches in the house with this other kind that lets you adjust how bright the light is. Now I can stand being in any of the rooms without the light bothering my eye.
Oh yeah, school. I'm now going to a place thaat doesn't require uniforms, which is great because I can wear my dresses and skirts to school. At first, the teachers and the other students all stared at me and asked why I was dressed like a girl. I don't see why they make such a big deal out of it. These clothes are more comfortable. Eventually though, most of them got used to it and they don't stare anymore. The others still give me weird looks and tease me from time to time...
There's this one girl in particular who stares at me a lot. But she has a different look on her face when she does. And she looks away more quickly than the others when she sees I've noticed her. I think her name is Acacia. Yeah, that sounds right. One time one of her friends noticed it too and whispered something to her that made her blush. Girls are weird.

Mikhail was sitting on one of the decorative rocks in front of his school, eyeing the street. Where was she? Milano had promised she'd give him a ride home today, but she wasn't here yet. He sighed and glanced at his watch. It was only 7 minutes after school had gotten out. Not enough time for him to really be upset, he supposed. Usually, Keijou was waiting for him when he got out and they'd both walk back home, but today Keijou was busy, or so Milano had told him. She didn't say why, though.
He idly watched people as they walked by him, headed for their own destinations. A group of girls came by and stopped not too far from him. They giggled and whispered amoungst themselves and Mikhail couldn't help but watch them out of the corner of his eye while seeming to continue scanning the road. Several of them stole glances at him. Probably going to ask where the tall dark and handsome guy is today, he mused to himself. It wouldn't be the first time they asked about Keijou.
More whispers and giggles and gradually he noticed they were urging someone from their group forward.
She was reluctant at first then finally started to step closer toward him. He recognized her as Acacia, who sometimes stared at him during class. Finally she was right next to him. "Uh... Hi," she managed to say.
Mikhail finally turned his head toward her. "Hi."
((Kinda short, but I keep hitting writer's block with the dialogue sweatdrop ))
