~The Mad Questionnaire HQ~

My very own HQ! Yay for Jolly! To those of you who haven't been to the Chatterbox lately, this one will merit some explaining. "Quiz threads" are very popular among the Chatterbox dwellers these days. They boast titles such as "Take this quiz to earn 10k!" A glance at the first post will tell you it's not as simple as it sounds. After the rules or personal ramblings of the maker of the thread, you will find an endless list of random questions that goes on and on and on and on and sometimes contains annoying trick questions to make the quiz even longer like "Count down from 25 in seperate posts." So why would the folks here at The Mad Tea party want to do something so insane? Well that's obvious, isn't it? lol

<-------------------->

~HQ Guidelines~

1. Make the question original.
Most endless quizzes are boring and full of questions like "What are you questing for?" and "Do you play a musical instrument?" Who's going to answer several hundred boring survey questions? Me. But that's not the point. We need original questions. Colorful questions. Confusing questions. MAD questions. So put some thought into it. They don't necessarily have to make sense.

2. Keep chatting to a minimum.
Some discussion about the questionnaire and other quizzes is acceptable but please don't flood this thread with comments on your local weather and Jolly's abundance of ears. Some of us actually have to find the question submissions among your posts. xp

~And a non-HQ Guideline~

3. Bump in moderation.
You may notice below that bumpers get recognition. This is because Chatterbox is a very busy place and it's easy for a thread to disappear and never be seen or heard from again. If you want to go bump the Questionnaire thread, I won't stop you. But please bump only when necessary.

<-------------------->

~Final Notes~

The goal for the first Questionnaire is 200 questions. The launch date is to be announced.

NEW!
Questionnaire HQ Mini-Contest!

I'm not entering the question contest! I'm just suggesting some things... I've been hanging out in the Writer's Forum recently, so it's given me some ideas:

There was a http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14711869thread out there... We could have a section called "Turn The Following Cliches Into Non-Cliches". For example, "Wizards have long and bushy beards," becomes a non-cliche when you add "The beards are the nesting sights of the Eastern Nightingale."

There are also something called Pimp My Sentence! where you had to turn a plain boring sentence, such as "The cat sat on the mat" into a more interesting sentence, such as "Yawning with delight, the cat plumped its fat rear on the doormat after a hearty meal of fish."

Oh, and don't forget the Anti-Climatic Game, where you are given a potential drama-scene, and you turn it boring by completing the scene. For example, "Natalie snored softly in bed, sleeping peacefully. She was abruptly awakened by the noise of her smoke detector going off. She bolted upright and..." is completed with "...and went to change its batteries. The darn thing always went haywire when it was low on juice. "

We should probably credit the thread-makers if we use their ideas for the questionnaire, though.

I guess I'll take a poke at question writing.

1. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck you?
2. What would you do if someone called you Spoogy?
3. Do you think the White Rabbit is overworked, or just crazy?

*is not entering contest* Just some suggestions...

How about: If you could make up a word and add it to the English language, what would the word be and what would be its definition?

Or: If you had the option to control either steam, fog, or clouds for one day (and you can't control it anymore if it turns into another form), which one would you pick, why'd you pick it, and what would you do with it?

Or maybe even: If you could have a life-size chess piece as a pet, which chess-piece would you pick and why?

Since more people don't seem to be entering (the wankers!), I'll announce the winners now and be done with it. Here is it!

Congrats, Red, you've won! And congrats, Sakiko, you've won, too! 4laugh

The questions that won you your prize were

~What is in the middle of nowhere?

~What would you do if someone called you Spoogy?

You shall both receive 150 gold. 3nodding

Also, Kibeth... I like your first and third question, but your second question... Too wordy. This is a questionnaire, not an AP exam! blaugh

I liked the Writer's Forum ideas, though. I'll leave the honors on that to you, since the WF probably knows you better than me and won't freak out over the random PMs.

Hmm...something pointless this way comes! *ponders* ...My brain isn't working very well today. But here's what I can come up with just now:

-> Does that dress make you look fat?
-> What do you think goes through the ant's mind as it watches the shoe come down?
-> Can I have your autograph?!

Okay, some more questions:

If the four elements were disbanded and you were in charge of choosing four new elements, what things would you choose?

What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten for dessert?

If you had to sit on a plane for twenty hours as you flew around the globe, what things would you take to entertain yourself?

If you could have any existing animal in the world as a pet, what animal would you choose? Where in your house or apartment would you keep it?

If you had to choose a person or organization out there to receive the gift of a Van Gogh painting, who or what would you choose and why?

PERMISSION GRANTED!

Yes, I have gotten permission from the Let's Twist Some Cliches and the Anti-Climactic game thread-makers! We can now make questions based off of their ideas, as long as we give credit to the original makers in any threads we make. 3nodding

I'll get to work on producing tons of questions for those sections later on... I have to go eat lunch now.
