Within the shadows of the boughs casted overhead and from what little shelter he could find, Ororo yawned as he stretched out his forepaws, sliding outwards as sleeps binding grasp still attempted to overtake him. Closing his eyes as he grunted and flared his nostirls, Lisani shifted his ears and flicked his tail behind him, curling about his body in a slightly menacing and devious expression.
It was only mid-afternoon but the scorching heart was not so merciless. Such a day called for solemn relaxation or, of course, a much needed adventure to find some sort of entertainment. Oh his mind was unceasingly plotting of what there was to do! Playing down by the water hole, practicing "pouncing", and causing a bit of mishief all in the name of fun.
Slinking onto his stomach, Lisani sighed as his streaked fur atop his head shifted and scattered before his right eye. As he slumped his head upon his crossed forepaws, the young lion glanced round about with anxious ocher eyes.
"What to do, what to do?"

Back home again at last... This wasn't the first time she had walked these lands, she knew, but it was the first time since she was reborn. She'd yet to reveal herself to her appointed Watwaa, though. She would need to do that soon, she wanted to have a few words with them. For now though, she'd explore unannounced.
The scent of another came to her as she neared the outskirts of the valley. Most of the pride, at this time of day, was probably at the watering hole to stay cool, or perhaps the river, to bathe, or maybe even hunting, who knew what else. One youth, however, remained unattended. Kiva decided to have a closer look.
He resembled Matifu and Theluji-- a new face in the pride, apparently.
"Excuse me..." She piped up a bit shyly, smiling uncertainly as she watched him from her perch over head. Climbing trees was a small feat for her, given the fact that part of her magic allowed her to fly. "Might you be Matifu and Theluji's son? One of them, at least?"

Ororo's head suddenly perked up as an unfamiliar scent began wafted in the air followed by a soft voice that called out from the silence. As his ears swivled and shifted, he glanced upwards only to meet the eyes of a winged lioness.
"A goddes?" he whispered under his breath, softly as his breath seemed to intake with a slight sharpness.
Did- did she just mention his...parents? Lisani's brows knitted in a slight confusion for several moments until a sly, devious smile crossed his maw.Oh, so she must know of him? Well, this would be intresting!
Puffing his chest outwards as he gracefully stood upwards with stature; his tail curled behind him as his ocher orbs trailed upwards with confidence. "Yes," he replied with vigor as he padded closer towards the godess and placed his right paw over his chest. "I'm Ororo'Lisani, the favored son of Matifu and Theluji and, of course, the strongest."
Tilting his head towards the side, a wide grin spread across his maw. "Won't you join me down here? I can't look into your eyes too well from on the ground?"

Kiva nodded in confirmation to his whisper, but at first did not come down upon his request.
"The strongest, you say...? Well, how does the day find you, young strong one?"
Technically she wasn't very much bigger than him, but truthfully she was as old as legend itself. She hadn't meant the question in insult, or to patronize, but she felt that she should be a little bit more reserved around the members of her pride somehow.
She made her leap down finally, however, landing on all fours before Lisani.

There was something about her that stirred chills to sweep briefly through his body, storming within him as a slight sensation of hesitation seemed to catch him off guard. He, Ororo, was standing before a goddess? Oh, what would Matifu think when he told him!
He nodded with a reassuring, sly grin as he chuckled softly. "Restless," he mused as his streaked tail flicked side to side. "Everyone's gone someplace and I'm stuck here with nothing to do." Lisani flared his nostrils with a slight huff as his paws shifted on the ground below.
Ocher eyes diverted as the goddess departed from her post and settled herself before him. Curiously, he tilted his head and began padding around her with stiff-legged steps.
"And which godess might I be in the presence of?"

Ah, the boredom of youth. The restless state of mind just past being helpless and just shy of being free to do what you wanted. For her this only really lasted until she was old enough to resume her place, but... she still had a self-enforced obligation. She was too responsible not to.
Kiva couldn't help but be amused, and barely managed to surpress a grin. So he didn't know who she was, eh?
"I'm known as Kiva, keeper of Unity."
The juvenille's wispy, cloud-puffed tail swayed behind her calmly, gazing at Ororo as he moved about her with her own amethyst colored orbs. Normally such behaviour was considered highly disrespectful, but he was young, heck, currently she was young too. Kiva had never been the type to be too hard on children anyway, and what was more, his antics were a bit amusing to her young mind, almost like play.

Suddenly yeilding in his footsteps, Lisani darted his eyes upwards as his jaw dropped. Kiva? The same Kiva that his dad and mother had spoken highly of; the godess whom presided over their pride?
His ears fell flat against his skull as he slapped his right paw against his face, shrouding his eyes from her as a flushed pink overtook his face.
"I didn't- I mean...I could have sworn- er- I should have known!" He exclaimed as the words jostled from his tongue in somewhat of a disorented and embarassed fashion. "I guess it's just because I've never seen a godess or a god before," Ororo shrugged as he placed his paw back upon the ground. "You're the first."
Drawing back a few steps in showing a bit more due respect to the godess, Lisani settled down upon his haunches and gave a rather puzzled expression.
"Are you looking for someone or something?"

"It's alright, I could have introduced myself sooner... it just feels so stuffy being formal all the time." She exhaled, seating herself now that he'd stopped pacing circles. "No, I'm not looking for anyone... I was just curious, I knew there had been a new litter or two since I came back, and I thought you might be one of the cubs," She grinned, clearly she was right.

His tail flicked behind him as he glanced to the side. Thoughts perused about his mind; sweeping wildly and unceasingly as Lisani sighed softly. "You could always just mask your identitiy- I mean, you don't always have to tell people who you are. Sometimes, I wish I could be someone else...."
He shrugged his shoulders as he shook his head, a small chuckle or two emitting from his chest.
"But sometimes we're best just being ourselves."
Ororo tilted his head slightly as his ocher eyes glimpsed into the eyes of the godess. She was truly a wonder; never had he met someone like her and, as he stated, this was his first real encounter with any higher lion. In a sense, it was strange but, still, it was something that he rather enjoyed.
"Well, then your curiosity served you well," he replied with a smirk. "And you stumbled upon the better of the brothers."

"I don't know how to be anyone but me, though. Is being who you are really so undesireable?" She questioned innocently. "Who else would I tell people that I am?"
Kiva offered a small smile at his next words, his boastful words seeming to go right over her head as she responded in an unbiased fashion.
"You each have your strengths, but the most impressive efforts are the ones that are combined."
The young goddess did pause, but otherwise didn't wait for a reaction, sending Lisani another smile and heading in the direction of the jungle path.

His brows knitted together as her response seemed to strike in the heart slightly; his emotions riled and storming with unfathomable sensations boiling upwards. This was not agner- oh no, this was, perhaps, a realization of the truth that the godess spoke but, with Lisanis' nature, he was sometimes, not partial to listening to intently when concerning his brothers.
With his maw slacked opne slightly as his body felt stiff and platered to the ground, his orcher eyes watched as Kiva began padding into the foilage and depths of the jungle.
She was leaving? So soon? Oh the time to feel tongue tied and to fall blank! Ororo gritted his teeth as his ears shifted slightly. He had to say something!
"I want more than living in the shadows of my brothers," he replied with a rather mild strength to his voice. "I-I just want to make a name for myself; I want to be someone worth something." Scuffling his right paw upon the ground as his streaked tuft atop his head whisked before his right eye, Lisani paws at it and sighed deepy.
"You know who you are; You're Kiva, Godess of Unity. But who am I? What am I? Or where am I going?"

His words caused her to give pause again... She'd expected he'd follow, or not, it was his choice, but at his confession, his concerns, and his insecurities, she couldn't simply walk away. Kiva could not turn her back on someone in need of compassion.
So, she turned back around, stepping a semi-circle to face him once more.
"You, Ororo'Lisani, are the new blood, the first generation of a new era."
Had the boys been told yet? Possibly not, or maybe they were too young at the time to understand it, but one would find out now.
"One of the first Ardhi'Mbingu, a symbol of strength and Unity and the new hope of the Unity Walkers..." She purred gently, voice loosing it's playful edge but taking on an almost motherly croon, conviction and encouragement in her tone. "You are the future of this pride... you and your brothers. It's only natural to wonder what your place in the world is, I do too, sometimes, when it's clear that despite my absence your father and the others have managed to hold the pride together just fine." She smiled softly, words holding a hint of a possible underlying meaning.
Yes, her absence... she'd abandoned the pride for years, yet they strived without her, and now here she came out of the blue, and they sang her praise and haroled her return as though she was responsible for their recent come back. She was not so wonderful as the legends and their stories made her out to be...
"You helped give your parents a reason to strive that much harder to regain what had been lost, and if you have an open heart to it then you can also assure the future once the safety of the jungle is passed down to you all."

Such soothing words brought peace unto his troubled soul yet the hesitation and uncertainty still plauged his mind.
His ears shifted back, somewhat folding against his skull as he curled his streaked-tuft tail around him. A symbol of strength? Ororo? No- That couldn't be him. Maybe Roho but, as for Lisani, he rather fought with intelligence and cunning wit rather than brawns and senseless urges for dominance.
His ocher eyes fell down amongst the floor; he wasn't worthy to look into the eyes of a godess, let alone any lion who ranked above him. Ororo was smart, cunning yet diversified and forlorn.
The talk of "opening his heart" and "the future" made him only become even further confused as he shifted his weight upon his forepaws.
"Open my heart? What do you mean?" His nose wrinkled as thoughts continued to bombard his every train of thought. Closing his eyes as he stretched his neck upwards, shoulders slumping in defeat as his bodies tension dissapated and dissolved, the young juvenille let his head hang.
"Maybe I'm not fit for this," he muttered as doubt and depression began taking hold of him, constricting his thoughts and every intention.
Lisani was feeling the bitter taste of second thought seeping and lathering within his maw. And such a taste was too displeasing.

"It means, be open to the possibilities and to your potential. But.... for now, enjoy your youth."
All at once Kiva had folded her wings neatly to her sides, pouncing forward to stand right before Ororo'Lisani.
"Come on now, turn that frown upside down, a smile is much better suiting to you, so chin up!"

With a bit of force and bucking up his attitude, Ororo flashed a small smile as he peered up into the eyes of the godesss. Words seem to faulter as his mind continued to rummage and ramble with unceasing thoughts but, for the time being, he'd just have to ignore the senseless questions and hesitations that life seemed to stir up.
For now, he had to enjoy being...well- a kid!
Sliding out his forepaws, Lisani stretched out as he closed his eyes and yawned slightly. What a day! Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine to be face to face with a real godess! But as for his curiosity, he couldn't stay silent for too long. Ororo wanted to ask questions and at least know one thing.
Slumping onto his stomach, Ororo rolled onto his back. "Kiva," he called out with a soft voice, slightly meek as his tail curled up around him. "What is it like to fly?"
