Do u think the new PS3's will be better than all the PS? I don't think so. because I've heard u can only play PS3 stuff on it. & use only PS3 stuff on it. so that would just be a waste of money.

Who said it's only playing PS3 games? Hell the PS3 is going to be completely backwards compatible AND play games from ANY country. I'm about ready to pee myself for a PS3, it's going to pwn hard. So wherever you heard that it's only playing PS3 stuff, you need to get your facts straight. If you look on the net, everything has said it'll be completely backwards compatible and as much as I love my xbox 360, it's only backwards compatible for some things.

Soluna-hime Vicieux the ps3 will of course be better than all the other playstations equipment wise, but the thing i'm most concerned about is the price tag. it's estimated by a lot of analysts that they'll launch at $499. ;_; um yeah, i definately don't have the money for that... especially since i'll be starting college this autumn. sweatdrop i know the ps3 is suppose to have a lot of neat features and the console is made to be around for awhile, so that's why the price tag is so hefty... but boy, that's still a lot of money. ^^; here are some interesting quotes i found, and just so that you know, it is said that the ps3 will be backwards compatible.
"Sony announced plans Monday to offer two packages when the system goes on sale this fall. A PS3 with a 20 GB hard drive will cost consumers $499. Those wanting a larger, 60 GB hard drive will pay $599. The $499 version will also lack several features found in the more expensive one."
"I think when you look at what we put into the box ? Cell, Blu-Ray, backwards compatibility, the ability to go online - I think it's a very compelling package for consumers," said Kaz Hirai, president and chief executive officer of Sony (Research) Computer Entertainment America. "The totality of what we bring to the table makes it a good value for consumers."
i'd advise anyone to just google information about the ps3. the more you learn about it, the more you understand why it costs so much. i'll still probably get the wii over the ps3, at least until the price drops for the ps3. that could probably take a few years, but i don't really have a choice except to wait. xp another reason why i'll probably get the wii first is well, i don't have a high definition tv... and the wii is going to be supported by regular tvs with 480p, which is what i have. so there's really no exact need for me to get the ps3 right away, though i'd like to eventually get one in the future. 3nodding They were even saying with the price, they're actually making it cheaper than what it's really worth and I guess they're hoping more that the sales will be through the roof to make up for the loss of money. Technically the system is worth about 700 or more. I'm definitely getting a PS3 as soon as I can, I'm a PS girl to the core =D same here my ps and ps2 are the only objects i really care about(besides the games)

I seriously think that the PS3 might be better then the other PS consoles. Because if it's able to play PS 1 and PS 2 games plus PS3 games then that would be awesome. I don't know much about the PS3 right now since it's only rumors and gossiping.
~My Opinion~ I do think that the PS3 will be better then the Xbox 360 because Sony did take there time into this system and I think it's going to be a sell-out! Don't get me wrong I do love the Xbox 360 but I'm more of a Sony fan they been out longer and has more video games such as RPG's.
In conclusion I can't wait until the PS3 hit the stores all of us gamers are waiting for the new arrival. smile

On the site, it said that it doesnt have slots for cartidges...so even if it plays PS2 games...we'd have to start all over again X_X.

I don't think it's really worth buying. I mean, every PS3 game is probably going to come out on the PS2 also. $500 just seems to much to spend on a console. Then you have to buy the game for it that are most likely $50 each. Oh yes and no cartridges, so we have to start every game all over again. It's supposed to use internal memory.
