Inspired by this thread, a discussion. Does the male-oriented fanservice -- impossible breast and waist sizes, skimpy outfits, stereotypical "female" behavior of the female characters -- ever bother you? Does it affect how you see a game?

Sometimes I find it annoying ... but not just in games but like ... in the whole country..
And it really depends on what game it is ... if it's something like Soul Calibur II with Ivy then that's kinda annoying, I mean, gawd! haha

Sometimes, but probably not for the reasons you're thinking of. Mostly more along the lines of "Wow, I wish I looked like that," or whatever.
Although sometimes, like in the case of DOA: Beach Volleyball, it's actually kind of creepy. Well, maybe not just "kind of."

I don't mind, I just hate annoying characters in general. I could care less about fanservice.
It's the character design when it comes to the costumes - I love looking at costumes for video game characters.

I don't like it when girls are next to naked, especially in online games, because you know that they're all being played by guys. And other than that, I hate when the armor for girls is skimpy too. It's ridiculous! All of the parts of the body that you would want to be covered with metal plating is left wide open just so you can see enough boobage.
I lose a little respect for games that have too much of that, especially if the girls' boobs are flapping around all over the place. The kind of thing where they could just blink and they're being smacked in the face with their own bouncing boobs. It's ridiculous... confused
The only comfort I get is that girl outfits in games are usually way cooler looking than the guy version. smile

And some parts should just be covered sweatdrop though there are some slutty-dressed videogame men I like, but at least they're groin is covered XD and with men it looks less...vulgar?? crude?? did I use the right word??? ninja

I became really irritated with it when I started playing Guild Wars. The females in the elementalist class do not wear a lot of clothing, and a lot of their clothes are also a little translucent. If you take all of the armor off, your character has default underwear underneath. So the elementalist chicks all stand around town and use the dance emote in their underwear, and their dance is a type of "hula" thing where they wiggle their hips and shake their boobs back and forth. And when they do that, you're bound to see five or more guys standing around and staring at her dancing. Sometimes they even charge gold to watch them. My guess is that all of those dancing elementalists are actually guys who have turned the camera around to watch their own character from the front with her jiggling boobs. confused

I have a Warrior on Guild Wars, and the female Knight's Cuirass, which covers up the entire rest of the body, has two little 'holes' so you can see some cleavage. Hit its weak point for massive damage!
Other than obvious flaws in armor, it's mostly acceptable. Sometimes the costumes can be simply too cute for words. And arousing. Yeeeeah. >.>
