Post anything and everything in here. It can be regarding guild info or anything off topic. I thought we should have a place where we could talk about anything. (I know, I know, why would anyone want to talk about stuff not relating to Anita... but it could happen blaugh )

Well since I'm here and thinking about books:

What are some of your other favorite authors? I know, not a big jump from the topic. My brain is broke so I'm taking small steps ;p

XD Don't worry, the topic is pure brilliance *glomp*

JK Rowling, even though I'm curious as to why I like her so much sweatdrop Her plot and story is wonderful, yet her writing is so simple and choppy.

I used to ADORE Anne Rice but then I figured out how much useless info she has, how she's far too over-rated, that Lestat is a Gary Stu (I also believe Anita is a Mary Sue, but cool enough to get away from it ^^; ), and that her character relationship building skills are horrible. Just horrible!

VC Andrews I'm still very fond of, along with Dan Brown (>> I have a crush on his main charrie in Angels and Demons and the Da Vinci Code XD), and Nora Roberts. Jackie Collins isn't so bad either....

Have you guys ever read any Christopher Golden books? He has a series of vampire stories that have a very interesting take on vampires.

Also I like Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking. I am currently reading Minion by L.A. Banks, but I haven't decided if I like it yet.

Actually, I'm very tough on Vampire Novels sweatdrop It takes me alot to read them and then not get annoyed with them. Anita Blake is the only one in which I like all the way (Though, Amadeo/Armand from the Vampire Chronicles will forever be my favorite vampire ever *_______*; ) sweatdrop I'm more into researching vampire mythology from around the world then read it.

Wth is wrong with me...

ne ne Narniakat: dundundun I'll probably post my fanficition tomorrow or Thurs (The two days I don't work) ^-^ I think I'm done it! Ish.

I'm not sure if any of you have heard of her, but I love Nancy A. Collins, and I know some of you would, too. While her writing is very different from LKH, the context could be considered the same. She writes the Sonja Blue series, which is about a hybrid vampire who hunts her own kind, along with werewolves and other supernatural creatures called 'Pretenders'. (By hybrid, I mean that due to complicated circumstances I am too lazy to explain, she is part vampire, part human--with all of a vampire's strengths and none of their weaknesses.) I love this series every bit as much as I do Anita Blake. Sonja Blue is an awesome heroine--every bit as kick-a** as Anita, but with a gutter punk style and cheerfully nasty attitude. The series includes Sunglasses After Dark, In the Blood, Paint it Black (all of which are included in Midnight Blue: A Sonja Blue Collection) and A Dozen Black Roses. There are some short story collections, too, but I'm not too sure of the titles. Collins writes other novels as well, the two best being Wild Blood and Angels on Fire.

...A long and somewhat boring post...sorry. redface Just thought y'all might like to know.

Here are a few of my favorites. In really no order and mostly all about werewolves sweatdrop I like vampires too I promise! anyway moving on. Shannon Drake's Deep Midnight, Kelley Armstrong's Bitten (didn't really like Stolen), Alice Borchardt's Silver Wolf and Night of the wolf, And probably my all time favorite aside from the Anita Blake series is Donna Boyd's The Passion and The Promise. Their all really great book.

I just bought Bitten last week, but haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. I am glad to hear you think it is good.

I'm rather fond of Anne Rice, though I prefer her Mayfair Witches books to the Vampire Chronicles. Well, The Witching Hour was good; the other two dragged a bit. Really I much prefer her Sleeping Beauty trilogy, but that's beside the point. I'm also rather fond of the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe and William Shakespeare's works. I was a fan of the Deverry series by Katharine Kerr, but she seems to have dropped off the face of the writing planet without finishing it. My favorite book is probably Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlen though. Great story.

I too really loved the Witching Hour! But thought the 2nd & 3rd were very disappoining. I really liked The Vampire Lestat & Queen of the Damned, but the rest are hit & miss. I loved the Sleeping Beauty trilogy and Stranger in a Strange Land was one of the first books I ever considered an All Time Favorite.

I had a really horrible day at work today and it was so nice to know I could come home, relax, and spend some time talking about Anita Blake etc. I am so glad the guild is going so well.

I should've probably answered my own question way before now xp

I am a lover of vampire novels and vampires in general. Love reading the lore and writing about them. I'm an Anne Rice fan. I think she's a bit of an acquired taste because of writing style. I don't mind it but you definately have to be in the mood to read one of her tales. Other authors I've become fans of are Stephen King and Clive Barker. Two great authors in my opinion. Other than horror I like a good mystery. Long as the plot sounds good I'll read just about anything.

Volatile Rainbow: I also have heard Nancy Collins. I spent quite some time hunting down Midnight Blue (I have no clue why it was so hard to find) but sadly I've yet to read it.

Narniakat: I also just purchased Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking last week. The cover grabbed my attention when looking for LKH books like a month ago but I Forgot her name so had to wait until I found it again. I should start reading that soon since I have a bit of free time on my hands.

Have you ever heard of Half.com? It's an offshoot of Ebay. That's where I got my copy. 3nodding
