 Woohoo! Rambling about his history.. don't look at it as a serious piece of writing, please. And as for the storyline I was just trying to be creative. xd History Yero’s history is rather sad. He was born into a small pack in the south of the great forests. His mother was a relatively small she-wolf. A light silver with strange red eyes. All his sisters caught some kind of virus. He was the only pup to survive that spring. He was only a few weeks old when Cabri, a prominent gamma in the pack had approached him one sun. Yero had been honored to be invited into conversation with an adult. “Yero,” Cabri said eventually, yellow eyes flickering under a hood of dark fur. “Your father is a beta in our pack, do you know what that means?” The black pup nodded confidently, proud to know the answer. He piped up. “Father’s the alpha’s second hand.” His tail wagged as he repeated what his mother had told him with pride many times. “But not the leader,” Cabri sighed in a patronizing manner. Yero frowned, perplexed. “No..” He allowed, “Not the leader.” The strange colored gamma lowered his head close to the pup, as if in conspiracy. “What if I told you I know how to make your father the alpha?” Yero’s crimson eyes widened in slight confusion. “But what about Koja?” He asked suspiciously, “I thought—“ “Koja will be happy, Tawa has been a noble beta for two years,” Yero looked up at Cabri uncertainly, but the gamma was showing his teeth in an encouraging smile. “How are you going to make Father the alpha?” Yero asked curiously, not daring to speak above a whisper. Something about the idea seemed a little strange. “All you have to do…” Cabri said slowly. “Is help me to find a hanging rock. We must present it to Koja. It’s common protocol for rank changings.” Yero tilted his head in confusion, but Cabri was nodding to himself importantly. The wolf pup had seen hanging rocks once before. Shaped like icicles, clinging to the ceilings of caves…but how would he ever manage to get one down? “I know just the place,” Cabri began to lay down his plan for the pup. When Yero finally reached the cave he’d stepped into the darkness without hesitation. The bear had swung at him, barely missing as the pup leapt back with a bark of surprise. The next swing would have been fatal, but for a black blur that had lunged before Yero. His father Tawa. Yero had escaped and in his mind he’d fancied he heard his father behind him; soothing footsteps, panting breaths. But by the time he stopped to look back he realized he was alone. He finally stumbled into his mother, heart racing, panting wildly, his eyes fervid with confusion and hurt. With dimmed senses, he stood stunned as his mother ran her comforting tongue over him. Her eyes were filled with sorrow. She knew. She had a way of understanding things. “There have been seeds of deceit in this pack for a long while,” She told Yero softly. “This is not your fault.” Her blood red eyes locked onto his identical pair. “This is not a save place for you to grow, Yero. Tonight I want you to leave,” Yero shivered, whined. “Shh..” The silver wolf nuzzled her son tenderly. A soft breeze rustled through the leaves echoing her voice. “I have a feeling…”

Hurray! Time for personality dialysis!
Description Yero's rather small as male wolves tend to go, just a hair bigger than most females. He has a gracefull build, though short in all dimensions. His sleek black fur is a little long, and very soft. He's lost most of his puppy hair by now and he's getting very silky. Since he was a pup his health has improved and the luster has come back to his coat. It's like sable now, almost irridescent and in some lights it can look blue or purple. Around his chest his fur is fluffed like bird feathers, and his tail has the strange quality too. At the bases of his large ears the fur also tends to fluff out gently. He has a handsome face with a strong muzzle and a high set brow. This gives him a look of intelligence, even wisdom, that can look very out of place on his small form. His eyes are a deep red, and incredibly piercing...like a raven's... Personality He's still trying to develop his personality. When he was a pup, the long solitary journey to the Shaoilin Woods(and the events he was mulling over as he traveled) got to him, and when he first arrived he acted a bit strange. Since he was young he's had impossible inner battles with himself. He still has a habit of talking to himself in his head. Also when he first arrived he was suspicious of every male due to his past. Meeting one, or even scenting one, would make him fluff up with fear. He encountered several female wolves, though, and would puff himself up to 'protect' them. However, for the most part he tends to be a quiet and reserved character. He's absolutely perfected the art of stalking and has been known since he was a pup to appear before others seemingly out of thin air. As a pup he was very hesitant and would show little emotion, socializing mechanically, but now he's starting to show his true colors. He has several stages he goes through when interacting with someone; he has to loosen up as time goes on, like someone adjusting to the water temperature. xd

Yero padded along softly, his blankened paws padding against the ground in almost silence, even over the last few dried leaves. He had never broken his habit of treading in a stalking manner, almost like a feline in his sinuous gait. Red eyes, bright as a raven's scanned the landscape constantly, aware of every movement. His tail, previously held robotically low and stiff was trailing smoothly behind him, the soft breeze touseling the long black feathers as every now and then his banner craned upward into a more confident arch.
The young adult had recently found the confidence he'd been deprived of as a pup. Though he was still often awkward at times he was eager to learn the rules of the game of socializing, and his quick mind was constantly picking up reminders. Still, not having met many packmates he was not yet sure of his place in his mother's pack. A familiar scent turned his head, and he altered his direction and padded lightly towards it. Maybe he could start here..?

Hige wasn't too far off from the den that he and Thayne shared. It was a crisp day, today, as it had rained hours before and left the once crisp leaves moist and without their crackle. The air was cold, in fact, and Hige was mesmerized by the falling snowflakes.
Inside of the den Thayne was fast asleep, meeting with Devvyl and Raine had taken a bit out of him, and left him in need of rest.
~I hope we'll get to meet with the other pack members soon, I haven't seen Yero or hise two friends since the first day I came here. We can't leave without them, right?~
He glanced over his shoulder into the darkened entrance of the den where his younger 'pack-brother' was sleeping. Kids should have other kids, or even young adults to play with. He was glad that Raine would also be joining them, it would give Thayne someone to grow up with.
Wait, what was that? Or rather, who?
Hige bristled a bit, but then began to relax again. That scent was vaguely familiar... He hadn't smelt it in a very long time. One of the other wolves he'd met early on?
He kept his golden eyes trained on the direction that the scent was approaching from, then positioned himself closer to the entrance of the den to keep it a bit hidden from view.

Yero slip into view from behind a small copse of connifers and paused, his ears canting towards Hige as he looked him over with those eerie red eyes. Yero was a young wolf of average size, not too much bigger than Hige, though the fluff of his fur that made it look almost like patterned bird-feathers made up for some of that. Tiny flecks of snow fell, gently nestling on his thick black coat and he took a few steps forward before seating himself primly on his inky haunches.
He remembered this wolf now, the last time they'd met Yero'd been a bit jealous and the corners of his maw twitched into a small smile at that thought. "You're Selia's other boy.." He greeted, as if still in thought. Aparently Yero didn't much notice the snow.

Oh... so it was Yero after all. Hige's first reaction was one of relief. His stance became a bit more relaxed, and his earthy fur finally settled back down on his hide. "Yero... isn't it?" Now that he wasn't afraid of the other wolf, Hige had a proper chance to take him in.
He was a lot like Raine, both had feathered fur...
He memorized the scent that the raven gave off as he slightly reared his head back, then back down, rustling his own neck fur. "Selia told me about you, but I haven't seen you after that first meeting... Not to pry, but... Where've you been? Are you and your friends still going to travel with the pack?" He raised a brow at the other wolf curiously, having a seat on the ground as well.

He nodded without a word. It may have seemed a little curt but was not intended to be.
Yero cocked his naturally clouded brow at the younger wolf's next query, mildly surprised by the question. No one had really ever asked about him before other than Whinn, Autumn, and of course Selia.
"Ah..now your name's Hige, yes?" The black wolf mused. His voice was a little stilted as if he was thinking every word through, but otherwise amiable. "I've been at the river's delta." He couldn't keep a private smile from spreading across his features. "My mate, Whinn, is fond of the riverbank. We two'll be headed south with you." He wondered if Hige had met his pretty female. Perhaps not, as like himself Whinn still seemed a bit introverted.
"And maybe one more female..I can't tell if she's made up her mind to follow Devvyl or the wolf called Notoka,"
Yero settled himself, sliding down into a lazy laying position, his head still alert. Talking to Hige was a strange feeling. He had never had a.. 'sibling', all his litter passing away before he had even a chance to snuggle against their bodies for warmth, let alone learn their names.

"Hige is the name," He smirked aimably. "I'm surprised we didn't manage to cross paths before now, at least once, but no harm, right?"
He pawed at the ground a bit, then flopped lazily onto his stomach to lie down before the entrance. Hige wasn't very educated with respectful behavior or pack rankings, but he never meant disrespect and in fact considered it a sign of trust to be himself in front of those he met. He assumed a lot, and it might get him into trouble one day, but until that day came... 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
"Besides, now's as good a time as any to get to know one another." He shot Yero an easy going smirk from the ground. "Right?"
~The pack has gotten larger, it seems. It'll only keep getting bigger, too, if Selia and Devvyl start a family of their own once we find territory.~
((To keep the timelines straight this will have to have taken place before Hige met Loki, is that okay, Tweek? sweatdrop I'd gotten myself into three simaltaneous RP's at once, you see- sorry for the trouble! @ @;; ))

(( Oh thass fine ^_^ Yero's not in any limbo anywhere so he can time travel as you wish! xD (Oh, and sorry again for the late-ness! sweatdrop ) ))
"It is too bad," Yero gave a tilted nod in commiseration. "I would have liked to know you better." Still, as Hige had said, no reason not to know him now, Yero thought. He decided, perhaps a bit compulsively that he actually would like to know Hige. Something about the wolf's happy-go-lucky attitude set him at ease.
The black wolf chuckled in his remarkably low voice, lowering his chest and sliding down into a casual laying position adjacent to Hige with a soft thud.
"Where does one start, getting to know a 'brother'?"

"Dunno, you're the first one I can remember having." Hige couldn't help shooting a lopsided little smirk over at Yero. Now, to get down to 'business'! Conversation properly started with Hige hoping that Yero wouldn't take offense to the younger adult making use of her name instead of 'title' ("mother", mom, etc.). "How long have you known Selia?"
