Ya know, Lady. That sounds feasible. Heero is quite pale for a Japanese man, too. I think you're on to something. I have a feeling that Dr. J knows something on that matter, but as fans I don't think we'll ever know.

Remember, this is anime. The place where someone like Sailor Moon, with blonde hair and blue eyes, is pure-blooded Japanese. Granted, they do that because if they were true to life, 90% of all the characters in anime would look similar and boring, but it's still a point.
As for Heero, he doesn't look too bad off. The eyes are the only thing. Perhaps he's only part Japanese? I mean, Quatre doesn't look Arabic, but we've gone through several possible explanations (mother of European descent, Berber heritage) for him.

Notice in Inuyasha that all of the human characters all have black hair and brown eyes. Boring, no? Now look at Sailor Moon, where the characters are all bright and completely un-Asian looking. And a lot more interesting. 'Course Wufei looks very Chinese...

yea I agree. Someone in his family probably was caucasian biggrin . It is possible. You can grow up in Japan/originate there and have caucasian family members...

Hey,
I believe Heero is Japanese, maybe he has caucasian parents, grandparents. Also yer it is Anime and I do have to say the striking baby blues are adorable.

Tsyukomi Hiro Oi, Heero is half Japanese half Caucasian. Well, it's possible, right? not half, his eyes are the only thing cause a typical causasian is a whole lot taller than heero is. A typical caucasian is 6ft or so. mayby 1/4th caucasian because everything but eyes and skin is japanese.

Haven't any of you seen "Memoirs of a Geisha"? She has blue eyes!! Its rare but it happens.
However, while bringing up "is Heero really Japanese" what about "is Trowa really Latin American" and especially "is Quatre really Arab"...well, its the future, right? SO I suppose it won't be the way we think.

Yeah I agree with that, I think Heero is only part Japanesse. The blue eyes totally give him away. I have a friend like that, his mom is Chinesse, and his dad is caucassian, he has really really blue eyes and darker skin... so totally sexy!!! 3nodding

Either way heero is still one of the hottest pilots. but yeah.. he's cute enough to be part japanese.

I think the animators/character designers just really didn't care to make him look acurately Japanese. They don't care to be accurate in other animes. While they stereotype other races and ethnicities, they seem to like to varietize (yes, I made that up) thier own people, and I don't blame them. Otherwise, everyone would have black hair, fair to medium skin, and brown eyes.
