It was a strange day for strange Roka. He had left his teepee earlier to walk somewhere, anywhere... His mind was plagued with unfamiliar thoughts--thoughts that he could not quite grasp. He didn't know where he was going; he just... followed his soul. Why had he been thinking so much of... her lately? They had just recently met, but... He sighed. Of course, ambling off to who knows where may not give him answers. He looked up. Where was he now, anyways? He scanned the scenery, and not a moment too soon, he flinched as he recognized the area he had been walking into. "Father and sister," he drawled out, making an immediate halt in the spot he was at when he realized that he was near the home of part of his family. Should he turn back or continue? He thought for a moment, and then pressed on. Perhaps it would be amusing today, to visit family members... It'd be like a family reunion. Aw, how sweet. He sneered.

And then it hit him. Why hadn't he brought Chitsa with him? They did talk once of meeting each other's family. He frowned to himself, hoping neither his father or his sister would catch him at this particular moment. It was out of the usual for him to show emotion around others, except for Chitsa, and so he considered this somewhat his moment of... deficiency.

"Father, father?" he called out, beginning to realize that he could go to the skies instead to search for the two. He took a few moments to consider that plan, but then decided against it. Ever since he met Chitsa, who couldn't fly at the moment, his wings haven't been in as much use as they had been before. If Chitsa could get along fine without using her birth wings, then he would be fine without them, as well. Perhaps he should just keep walking. It wasn't like he was very close to the teepee; he was just in the area. And maybe father and sister weren't even home. Maybe, if he went back and somehow found Chitsa, he could return here, and his father and sister would show up.

"Anyone?" he inquired to the trees and shrubbery around him, stopping in place again. Maybe no one was there. He should probably start turning back, then, if father and sister were out.

A pale blue sky appeared as morning dawned and a white and black mare was restlessly sleeping in her teepee. In less than a day's time the mare had gone from a collected disposition to that of an anxious one. Her body twitched slightly in her sleep and her ears were pinned back. A few birds chirped in trees nearby her teepee and the mare awakened with a jolt. Nora's medium blue eyes peered around the teepee and her ears swiveled about. The mare frowned slightly, realizing she was alone. She sighed; rather disheartened. Nora shook her head, the beads in her mane jingling pleasantly and she cautiously rose. Taking a few steps across her teepee, she exited; taking a brief period to stretch her legs. The mare shied as a few more chirps from birds reached her ears. She had become skittish lately; fearing for the safety of her unborn children. Nora knew everything would be fine, or at least she hoped so, yet despite how much she told herself that it didn't seem to help. Sighing once again she began leisurely walking to a stream located close to the teepee. Songs of birds surged through the air; carried swiftly along by the wind. Nora soon grew once more used to the familiarity of the land surrounding her home and became non phased. As she reached the stream she arched her neck down to take a few sips of the crisp water; the gentle trickling sound was soothing. The mare's ears twitched as she thought she heard a voice; however it was diminished by the sounds of the stream and bird. Lifting her head up the mare's eyes scanned the area. She saw no one; and decided what she thought she heard was a figment of her imagination. Hallucinations occurred all the time; it wasn't that unorthodox. Then she heard the voice again and she frowned in response. Nora strode away from the stream towards the direction of the voice. "Is anyone there?" She called out; wondering whom it was she heard if indeed it was anyone at all.

As soon as Roka was about to leave the place, his two ears swivelled towards a familiar voice, picking up the faint sound waves in the air. He was not very far from the origin at all. Well, it was too late for Chitsa to meet his family, now. Slowly and almost reluctantly, Roka began to calmly walk in the direction of his sister. His tail trailed laggardly behind him, and his wings seemed to just hang limp from his sides. It wasn't that he didn't want to see his sister--in fact, the idea of it almost made him enthusiastic. Almost. His mind just was not working normally. The sounds of the birds and forest creatures around him did not enter his realm of acknowledgment. And even though the sun was out, as it was early morning, the light that reflected off of his beads tied in his hair did not distract him, as bright as they were. He was focused on the path that would soon lead him to his sister, if his memory of her voice proved correct. And maybe the two would even be able to... bond.

The distinct shape of his sister came into view soon after he began walking towards her. And, amazingly, a smile began to creep its way onto Roka's mouth. "I'm here, dearest sister," he called out loudly so that it would reach her ears from where he was. "What are--" He stopped when he took a glance at his sister's form--most noticeably, her belly. It seemed different from when he last saw her belly, but then again, that part of her body wasn't a place that he regularly paid attention to... Was it always like that?

"What is that?" he inquired, making a pointing gesture with his snout as soon as he reached close enough to his sister.

Nora's ears flickered upon her head and her medium blue eyes fell upon her brother who was making his way towards her. She wanted to roll her eyes at his foolish antics but chose not to. "Hello dearest brother." She replied; nuzzling him gently when he reached her. Nora frowned and stomped her back hoof in irritation at her brother. She never acted this way; but for now she couldn't help her attitude. "What do you think it is?" She added in a tone that was a mixture between annoyance and anxiety. Nora thought it was quite obvious why her stomach was twice it's normal size; was her brother simply coy? The mare shook her head and suddenly felt the need to cry; yet she knew that was beyond her and that mood swings were to be common. She took a deep breath and sighed. Looking once again upon her brother before scanning the area, "Is there any place to lie down and talk? My hooves are killing me..." Her voice was lathered in exasperation. She shifted her weight awkwardly and took a few steps closer to Roka's side. The mare wanted to lie down right away but felt it best to follow her brother's lead.

Roka had accepted his sister's nuzzle, even welcomed it, and made no hesitation to smile when they were facing each other once more. Perhaps it was the fact that he had done this countless times with Chitsa that he didn't think twice of the sign of affection.

But his unfaltering smile in greeting Nora vanished as the stomp of her hoof signaled a break in their time of happy. What had happened..? Was it something that he said? "Uh... Don't tell me you have always been this way..." He tilted his head, taking one small, meek step back. Instinct told him otherwise, and he almost had the answer, but Roka couldn't quite put his tongue on it...

It looked as if Nora needed help, and Roka actually felt a bit concerned for her. "Here," he said softly, bringing himself to his sister's side. "Your home must not be far from here, or maybe you might prefer right by the water, so we could freshen up while we talk?" He flashed a smile at her, which must've looked abnormal. He really wasn't used to this, but the moment seemed too serious for Roka to act like his usual self. "I'll support you on the short trip."

Unfortunately this was possibly the first time Roka took full responsibilities in his being the eldest child.

The mare closed her eyes and sighed again. "No... I'm never like this. I'm sorry I'm so flustered and moody at the moment." She looked at her brother with a gleam of guilt in her eye for acting how she did. Nora nodded her her head to thank her brother for allowing her to lean again him for temporary support. "Well no the teepee isn't too far... Which were you prefer to go to?" Her medium blue eyes scanned the area; considering which direction her home was. The mare giggled at her brother's words. It wasn't everyday you heard a stallion use the term 'freshen up'. "It wouldn't be too difficult to find a nearby stream either." Nora appreciated the gesture but shook her head and stood upright again. "No it's fine brother. I'm sure I can manage as long as we don't go too far." Even though she was pregnant she didn't want to be a burden to her family.

Feeling tentative and uneasy after Nora's sigh, Roka was speechless, almost; as if he had said something wrong could set off a bomb in Nora. But...

"Never like that, sister?" He paused, confused. "But you are like it now..." He continued to lock his gaze onto her fattened torso, waving off the illusion of it moving just at first. Was there something wrong with his vision today?

"Let us journey to some source of water, then," he suggested. Nora sounded like she needed some, and goodness knows he did as well. Perhaps his imagination surrounding Nora's figure came from dehydration, which would have been a first, as Roka was often in tune with nature as well as his own bodily needs. Shrugging off his sister's giggle and refusal, he still stayed close to her as he began a slow walk towards the distinct noise of rushing water, which is what he had hoped he heard.

Along the journey, he mustered enough courage to inquire again, "What have you done recently to make your physique and mentality like this, Nora?"

Nora threw Roka a mix between a glare and a frown and sighed again in exasperation. "You know what I mean brother." It was rather obvious in the mare's opinion that she was excluding today in her evaluation. She proceeded to nod to her confused brother as they made their way together towards the sound of the trickling water of a nearby stream. Nora's ears unconsciously sweiveld upon her head as they took in all the little noises around the pair. After hearing her brother's question however her body frooze in a halt and she stared blankly ahead of her. After a long moment of silence Nora's eyes turned upon her brother and she stared at him in amazement. "What... have I done?" Wasn't... it quite obvious what Nora was going through at the moment? How could one not know what exactly was involved in her current condition? Was it.... indeed possible that Roka didn't know what was going on. The mare's expression soften slightly at the naivity of her brother. "Dear brother, I am pregnant." Again she gave a light sigh at her own words.

Roka had continued on towards the walk, oblivious to Nora's abrupt halt. But soon he realized that the sound of hooves had halved, and he turned back, surprised to see Nora locking a stare onto him. He too, in turn, froze, not knowing whether he did or said anything wrong to displease his sister, until she spoke. His eyes turned looked upwards at an angle as she posed the question to him... What did she do? Of course he didn't know, he wasn't her keeper! He didn't even live with her!

It took a while for Nora to assess Roka's knowledge, it seemed, and in the meantime he had continued to wonder blissfully of the silly things Nora could have done since he had last seen her. Was he supposed to care?

But it took a few seconds for Roka to acknowledge Nora's answer, and he blankly stared at her, repeating, "Pregnant?" He snorted and dug one of his hooves at the ground's surface, "How?!" That word was usually used when two soquili were... well, together. But there was no one near Nora in sight! "And come!" he remarked, ushering her to the stream from the place she stopped at.

Nora noticed that Roka seemed to be staring at some point beyond her and she frowned; wondering if he had been minding her while she spoke. It was rude to ignore others; especially one's siblings and Nora would indeed take offense if her own brother was simply choosing to ignore her. However it appeared that he had absorbed her words enough to a mere point where he was able to repeat them. Roka's action had Nora surprised; she wasn't sure if he was angered by her news or as if he was acting childish about it by stomping a hoof. The mare winced at her brother's question. "How?" She repeated. "What do you mean how..." She had an expression between a frown and a glare as she stared at her brother. Just how much in the world wasn't he aware of after all? Once again; Nora felt it was quite obvious how she had come to be in such a predicament and she certainly wasn't going to explain it to her brother. The mare instantly trotted to where Roka stood when he ushered her to do so though she was a tad annoyed at him for doing so. It couldn't possibly be considered proper to hurry a pregnant female.

Back on track to the stream again, Roka held his head up high and grunted lightly, satisfied now that the two were back on task. If Nora kept on standing in that place, how were the two going to get to where they said they would? Surely she didn't expect him to... Carry her with her enlarged belly. Maybe she was heavier than him now! He hid a snort of laughter at that humorous thought as he continued to be oblivious to Nora's glares of frustration, and perhaps impatience.

But Roka was not acting at all, and he did not find pleasure in playing word or mind games like this--he was never really good at it, and never found a point in them. What did he mean how? Didn't the term "how" explain itself? His thoughts jumbled as he attempted to dissect the word in his head, but then he found it hard to concentrate doing that, and so he relented his inquiry. But there was the matter of the pregnancy, and who did it to his small sister.

"Where is it that did it, then..?" he pondered whimsically, looking to the skies. "And what is it?" He most certainly did not see anyone near Nora before, and, if he wasn't mistaken, there should have been! Not that it mattered at all to Roka, but he found it quite... interesting that his little sister had found herself in a situation like this. Those types of things were for parents like theirs!

Nora gave a sigh and shook her head, wondering just what her brother was thinking. The next moment her blue eyes were glaring at him; his giggling disturbing her thoughts. What could possibly be so hilarious about this predicament that she was in? See what looking forwards to having children, yet it was quite a strain to go through. She rolled her eyes, knowing that males would never experience such a thing and that they definitely could not relate. Nora was thinking that the sooner they arrived at the stream the better, thinking that she would have less explaining to do there once they both took the time to quench their thirsts and 'freshen up' as Roka had put it. The mare was perplexed by her brother's next question and she stared at him wide-eyed; even pausing in her forward movements. "What do you mean by where and what?" Nora thought it was quite obvious just what had gotten her pregnant, she just didn't know how to explain where he was as she did not know. "A stallion got me pregnant?" She responded to him with a confused look on her face, her mouth opened and brow furrowed. "And why does it matter where he is?" She added in an annoyed huff.

Blissful Roka was, to the consistent little actions of Nora's that marked her disturbance of his behavior. When she glared at him, he looked tranquilly to the direction of their goal, and when she shook her head, he took it as a reaction to her condition. It was when she had stopped again, that he turned upon her with a small frown, finding himself looking into the shocked glare of his sister.

"Ah--a stallion," came out automatically to Nora's answer, and then, "You know, we'll never reach the water if you keep stopping." Perplexed he was as well, at his sister's continuous halts in movement.

"You also don't know where he is?" Roka questioned while ushering Nora to continue on again, for the stream was right before them, but still a minute's walk away--he could hear the gentle caressing of the rocks as the liquid moved through their pathway, much like the path he was attempting to get Nora back on track again.

"So you left him!" he concluded. What other reason there could have been for this meeting with his sister--the stallion should be where he was standing right now! "And do you even have his name?" he inquired once more. It wasn't even hitting him that he would be kind of an "uncle" to the things fostering inside his sister's womb...

Nora continued walking, this time at a faster pace while she shook her head. He was in quite a hurry to make it to the stream. Her ears tilted forward as she also began to hear the trickling of the water as it rushed down the gentle slope. "I'm sure we'll manage to make it there even with me pausing every now and then." She told Roka defiantly, giving a swish of her long tail. "No I don't know where he is." Nora replied firmly. What did it matter to Roka if she knew where he was or not? He was probably at his teepee or wandering about someplace. It wasn't as if Nora was his morther and was required to keep a watchful eye upon him at all times. "Of course I didn't leave him. He is the father of my children." The white mare would never leave him; he was her mate and she was his. The mare let out a sigh; the annoyance from earlier seeming to have disappeared but she was growing weary of all her brothers never ending questions. "Yes I do know his name." She chose not to tell her brother his name since he had simply asked if she knew his name and he hadn't necessarily asked if she would tell it to him. The mare's medium blue orbs looked up now at the stream before them not too far off, the liquid sparkling in places due to the sun's rays falling down upon it. "We're here." Nora stated thankfully. Hopefully her brothers questions would cease and she would have another moment to lie down after she had relieved her thirst.
