I worked at a Jewish camp in NJ for 2 years - half the kids that went weren't even Jewish so the whole Shabbat service and Learning about Israel bored them to tears. Not that I blame them, they weren't the mostt exciting moments of the day. We also had Israel Day, which was just a cheap carnival setup.
Working there was a pain because at the time I was considered a Junior councelor (wasn't 18 ), which meant I did the same amount of work as a Senior Counclelor but got paid much less.
So glad I don't work there anymore whee

Dude... I am like so obsessed with Jew Camp. Jew Camp is my life. I spend every summer there, and as soon as I come home I start counting down the days until I'll get back to Pinemere. My Jew-Camp of choice, Pinemere, is in Stroudsburg, PA. Stroudsburg is home to exactly four things of importance: Dylan Star, a camp friend; Jon Doron, another camp person; Camel Beach, the water park we go to once a session during the summer; and of course Camp. It's the greatest place on earth. Seriously. Go CITs of 2005! That's Counselors-In-Training, for all you not-camp people. And Yvette, m'dear, this site is a huge database of Jewish summer camps. If you choose Pennsylvania, Pinemere is the first on the list (or at least it was for me). You can look by state! Also, Camp Ramah has a camp everywhere you look. They divide up the country into areas that attend each camp- I think Ramah Wisconsin is closest to you. My brother goes to Ramah New England and love it.

I go to Camp Bluestar so pity me, there's not a boy in the vicinity! And every night at nine they lock the doors, I don't know why the hell I ever came before I'm gonna pack my bags and- homeward bound! I'm gonna turn this camp right upside down! I'm gonna smoke and drink and fool around, what the hell? The hell with the whole damn caaaaaaamp! AND ALL THE COUNSELORS! The hell with the whole damn camp! AND ALL THE BOYS? What boys? The boys at Bluestar will never be... tall, dark, and handsome, and- four foot three :[ The boys we call our own, dadadada~ Wear glasses, and braces, and smell like B.O.! They wear nail polish, and in their hair, they wear blue ribbons from county fair! And then they say to you, dadadadada~ "Roses are red, Violets are blue; My name is Herman, and I love you!"

...Jyu, what the hell is that? Never mind her, that's just her insanity I think. She's as much of a campoholic as me. I almost ended up going to Bluestar, but we decided Pinemere was way cooler.
