This is for sightings, not abductions. I literally mean, you saw something in the sky that you just couldn't explain rationally. I think if anyone has alien encounter stories, you should definitely post them, but in a different thread please whee
So, here is my wierdest sighting:
First a little background. My mom does nails for a living. When I was still in high school, 2 of her co-workers decided to go to Mexico for 3 days. They each had 2 young sons, so they each brought a babysitter to help keep an eye on the kids. That meant 2 adult women, 2 teenage girls, and 4 little boys (under 8 years old) were together in one suburban.
On the way home from Rocky Point, in the southern Arizona desert we all saw something. (I'm going to ruin it a little in the description, I just want to ensure you all know that we really saw something crazy) We saw 2 orangish/pink lights hanging in the sky. Now, reasons they were not military flares: 1-they did not flicker, they did not drift or move in any way. Yes there was wind, the clouds behind them moved, they did not. 2-No smoke, flares put off lots of smoke, and there was none. 3- They did not fade out, when we left, they were still there, until we moved out of sight.
Okay, so we are driving, and we see these lights. We are all kind of freaked, thinking "What the hell are those things???", so we pull over and get out for a better look. We are there for 10-15 minutes watching these pink lights in the sky. Suddenly a non-descript SUV (Chevy Blazer I think) pulls off behind us. A guy wearing a flannel shirt, jeans, and a ball cap gets out and comes over to us. He asks if we need help, maybe with a flat tire. We all say no, we just wanted to get a closer/better look at the lights, and does he know what they are?
He looks each one of us in the eye and says, "They are military flares, now get back in the car and drive on your way". With an air of 'or else' heavily around us, we did as he said. eek THAT made the whole thing even more creepy and suspicous then it had already been sweatdrop You want to talk about a car full of scared children, and freaked out chicks? xp I still wonder what that was all about.
For the record, anyone who has seen footage of the mystery Phoenix night lights Here(The pic isn't too great, but hey, it's CNN who posted it!) knows pretty much what I saw. It looked very similiar, except for me there were only 2.

Yeah, I saw something wierd in the sky the other night. I don't know if it was anything, or if it was my eyes, but I stared for several minutes, rubbed my eyes, and everything, and this thing was still there. It was night at the Olde English Faire and I was waiting at 12am for a shower (there was a couple ahead of me in the little outside shower stall). Right at the top of the trees where the woods begins, I watched as the leaves were blowing in the breeze. I was thinking about how it was supposed to rain the next day when I noticed something strange in the sky. It looked like somebody had literally taken a can of black spraypaint and put graffiti on a plate of glass that the clouds were on the other side of, because this oddly shaped black mark didn't move, but the clouds did, and I walked to different spots and looked around to see if it was an optical migraine (because I have them and I've been having migraines lately), but it was still there. I have no clue what it was. Didn't tell anybody about it. Don't think it had much to do with aliens, but I definately can't explain it other than maybe there was something in the water or my food was bad... or the very little alcohol I drank (I wasn't drunk or tipsy at all) had something of a halucinagen in it. I don't know...

Creepy eek *shudders*
Why is it we don't say anything to anyone else? I've had that kind of thing before too, where no one else seems to notice, and you just kind of shut down and don't say anything, then you feel disoriented and a little crazy...
So, I'm driving down a very busy street in Phoenix at night. (I think it was around 8pm, I would have to check my diary to be sure) It's winter, and sometime close to Christmas, so there is still a lot of shopping traffic on the road.
I get to a busy intersection, and am waiting at a red light, when a light in the sky catches my eye.
I still don't really know how to describe it. It looked like someone had opened a doorway in the sky, and all the light was pouring through... There was a sort of rectangular shape in the center, and light rays pouring out (almost like sunshine through a clowd), especially heavy on the top, and the bottom. The light was a deep golden yellow color. It was there for a good minute or so, and then it faded out, very quickly, the same way as when someone shuts a door.
The most trippy thing about it, was that NO ONE ELSE NOTICED IT!!! Remember, I was on a very busy street, with lots of other cars and people, not a single one of which reacted.
It really freaked me out, my hands are shaking right now as I type about it sweatdrop

That is very strange. Last night when I was looking at the moon, I noticed that it was a bloodmoon, so I was trying to watch it, except for that whenever I drew my attention to it while facing east (where the moon was rising), it became immediately and thoroughly obscured by cloudcover. And then I thought it was facing the other way ) instead of (. Bizarre.... nothing to do with aliens though. Oh! I have more strange dreams to add to the thread and then I have a solstice ritual to catch up on (I forgot yesterday).

That is creepy tho eek It would give me a case of the spooks if everytime I looked directly at the moon there was cloud cover, but from the corner of my eye it was clear sweatdrop (and that def. counts as something to post here ^.^)
The first time I ever saw a shooting star is a very weird story. I was 9 years old, and me and my family were in a camper in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Now remember, I had never seen a shooting star before...
So, I am lying in the camper, looking up through the window at the night sky. I see this perfect teardrop shape of light appear. It moves in a straight line across the sky for a very brief spell, at a steady speed, and with NO TAIL! It is a white light, like the stars, but brighter, and NO flickering/twinkling what so ever. It literally, just appeared randomly, moved, then disappeared just as randomly.
I vaguely recall being at first scared, and disoriented, like some part of me knew that what I had seen wasn't quite right, but I managed to convince my 9 year old self that what I had seen was a shooting star.
So, then another one appears, the same as before, but moving perpindicular to the one before it (at right angles). I recall being scared enough to roll over and stop looking up after that xp
It wasn't until years later, when I saw my first real shooting star that I realized that there was NO WAY that what I had seen in Yellowstone was a shooting star... sweatdrop

Do you remember the comet that went by 7-8 years ago? I remember watching it with binoculars (!) on my front step with my mom.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, I think I have proof aliens exist.... xd It's my cat-thing... He's very retarded but occasionally he does stuff we can't explain. He eats paint and bread, but will snub baked salmon... he's jumped onto the hot oven lid before... the second time it was hot enough to burn his paws and he didn't jump off at all... He just looked up at my boyfriend and whined until he picked him up off the damn thing. One time we heard him whining loudly and we looked around all over the house for him (in closets, cupboards, etc) and I discovered that he was in this floor-resting cabinet we don't use for anything. There was a sweater on the floor in front of the little cabinet doors, and no holes in back for him to sneak through. The doors were flush against each other, but when we let him out and tried to figure out how he managed to lock himself in a magnetic-door cabinet, we discovered that it took US, THE HUMANS, several times to get the doors shut flush against each other. So he couldn't have just been in there and one of us brushed against it... We still don't know how he did it.
Oh, and he runs headlong into stuff (boxes, walls, etc), but he figured out how to climb up and open the storm door.... He doesn't act like a cat at all... He came to me as a stray so we don't know about his pedigree.... So what do you think? Alien? lol He's sitting on my lap being adorable right now.

LilaMalvae Do you remember the comet that went by 7-8 years ago? I remember watching it with binoculars (!) on my front step with my mom. I remember a comet, not 100% sure it's the same one...but it almost has to be doesn't it? Huge green thing mrgreen and yes, it was very cool cool Did you ever get see one of the shuttles go over? I have twice, also VERY cool! whee
Anywho, your cat thing. If your going there, then maybe I can add, all cats have some kind of weird alien strain in them that comes out more in some then in others. Begs to question why? Why did ancient egyptians worship them as Gods? Hmmmm.... That cabinet thing is totally trippy!

i saw something once. i thought it was a jet but it was just hovering in the sky. i thought it ws one of the new raptor jets or something. i turned to tell my friend about it then i guess it went behind a cloud or something cause when i looked back at it it was gone! i know it wasnt a helicopter because it had no propellers and was not the right shape. and when i was little i saw something fly past the moon. it had no lights either. not sure what that one was though

I was a mod back in the day, but my computer crashed and I totally let everyone down, so I'm too nervous now to offer it sweatdrop Ally knows me and can do what she will ... heh... sweatdrop sweatdrop
Oh, and thanks, I was actually thinking the same thing about you Lila whee
So... Here is a kind of funny one xp . You know those silver blobs they always show on TV as UFOs? My family and I all saw one once when we lived in a semi-remote area outside of Phoenix. It was just hovering over this tiny little village (called Cave Creek), and we (kids) were all freaking out bigtime. xd
So, someone got the binoculars for a closer look, and low and behold eek it was just a plain old silver blimp. gonk rofl I guess the heat waves and the distance made it appear to be something much cooler then what it actually was cool
We were all soooooooooooo disappointed crying xp xd
