Smiling sweetly through the ages...
 Name: Ophiera
Gender: Female
Stage: Toddler
Abilities: Unknown
Blend: Broken Porcelain Doll
Appearance: Ophiera has transformed into a sweet, innocent looking young girl with black, curly hair and haunting, dark eyes. She smiles placidly most of the time, and generally looks very serene. Natalie dresses her mostly in home-made clothing, often resembling doll dresses.
Personality: Mute and naive, Ophiera is quick to trust - just like her mother. She seems to trust everybody from the outset, and adores almost every person she meets, seeking hugs and praise from all. She can be quite energetic at times, playing games or dancing around. At other times, though, she seems nearly catatonic - placid and unmoving.

Dancing in the rain...
Throughout her life, people bought her love with dolls. When she was a little girl, she was the unofficial payment of a "debt" between houses. She spent her time before the marriage living in the house of her future in-laws, cleaning and singing. She loved to watch the performers up on stage when her new family took her to the theatre.
When she was given away, her father gave her a little doll as he told her not to cry. When she was given away the second time, this time in marriage, she was showered with the exquisite figurines as wedding presents. Still young, barely sixteen, she played with her dolls and made them act while her new husband, five years her senior, turned his mind to politics. Their marriage was little more than a business transaction, but Ophiera didn't mind. She had her dolls and the passing affection of her husband.
Being raised like this, she kept many childlike traits. She laughed and sang in the rain before her mother-in-law came to pull her inside; she made up stories and acted them out while waiting for her husband to return. Her life was happy, in its turn. Their home was as far from the ravages of war as was possible, and the birds still sang.
Then the plague hit. Her husband used his influence and money to keep them safe, in a quarantined zone. Nobody was let in or out, and everybody was regularly tested. Ophiera didn't quite understand what was going on, but she clung fast to her husband and the one doll she had been allowed to bring. It was only when a desperate attempt by those outside to get into the safe zone left the building she and her husband were staying in a mass of burning rubble and she found her doll singed and cracked beyond repair that she realized how much danger everybody was in.

Across the moorland skies...
 Name: Natalie Jessani
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Occupation: College student, Magician's Club member, budding actress
Appearance: Natalie is a girl with an average height and an average body. She's a little curvy, a little flat, and all around normal. Her hair is brown, full-bodied, and too curly to be straight, but too straight to be curly. She usually has it pulled up in a messy bun/ponytail mix. Her eyes are hazel, and can change color at the drop of a hat.
Where things get a bit weird, though, is her clothing. Though she is in college, she wears some sort of school uniform. Her excuse? The private college she attends makes her wear it. Why?
The professors are all pervy old men, of course.
Personality: Natalie is generally cheerful, hardworking, kind, slightly maternal, way too trusting, and a bit mischievous. She's more serious than most of her friends, but as most of her friends are geeky frat boys, that's not saying much. She enjoys singing and acting a great deal, but is, at the moment, majoring in set and costume design. That could change, of course - in fact, it probably will.
History: Natalie was born in an ordinary family and has a sister whom she rarely sees. She moved out when she was 18 and went to college, where she's remained to this day. In her first year, she met two boys - Stephen and Matt, complete D&D geeks and spacecases.
They formed the Magician's Club, dedicated to studying magic's history and magic itself as best they could - which was not well. On occasion, they attempt to cast spells or summon creatures. If Natalie's there, it usually works. If not... well, Stephen has been known to have boobs and a horn growing out of his back. It's... not pretty.
Natalie has taken care of one other "child" in the past - a slightly arrogant, rather confused Universal named Mictlantechutli who didn't take much in the way of looking after. On receiving the request to take care of Ophiera, she left Mictlan at her old apartment, saying it'd build Mictlan's character, and make him grow up. As she doesn't need to pay rent for her new home, she takes care of 75% of the rent for her old apartment, until Mictlan gets a steady job.
Currently, Natalie is playing the title role in a minor production of Jane Eyre. Somewhere along the line, she met and fell for (hard) her co-star, 35-year-old Michael Landry. Lots of drama ensued. After getting through a mess caused by breaking things off with Michael and falling for a certain drug dealer, Natalie managed to get through fall semester of college. She recently came into possession of an enchanted rabbit toy, not the smartest of things. Also, Michael has reentered the picture and is now in a stable, respectful relatonship with Natalie.

Dear Natalie,
How's it going over in your side of the compound? As you can see by the condition of this letter, things are definitely eventful over here. You mentioned eariler that you designed clothes? I was wondering if maybe you could design a few things for Gavin. Cutting holes for his wings has only resulted in making his shirts easier to rip.
I could bring him by anytime this week, if that's alright with you of course. I wouldn't want to impose. If you're not busy at all, I'd be very grateful for this. We can also discuss payment and such. Hope to see you soon!

Wednesday sounds great. I'll bring him by around noon-ish.
As for childproofing, just make sure that anything breakable and/or stainable is out of reach. He tends to find ways to make sure they end up broken and/or stained. Many times both. See you soon!

Eve Gordon :: Very maternal, about Carver's age. She works for a cooking magazine - Natalie's planning on getting recipes from her.
Carver Johnston :: A very nice man who showed up the day Natalie moved in and helped her find her couch. Seems like a big brother/father type of person. Can't cook. Natalie may or may not have a crush on him.
Remiyah :: Nice, funloving, and a tiny bit ditzy. But no moreso than Natalie! She's a writer, and Gavin's mother.
Stephan Abrams :: Typical fratboy.
NPCs
Hadrian :: Reserved and professional, seems to be a bit... upset? He also seems to be taking on a "protector" role. Is a hilarious drunk and looks great in a naughty nurse costume. Natalie's worried about him and Thorn.
Dacian :: Fun and a good drinking friend. Looks good as a woman. If he were a woman, Natalie would go gay for him. Her. Whatever. Currently sovereign ruler of Natalie's floor.
Thorn :: The Other Older Man in Natalie's life, aside from Michael. She wasn't quite sure what he wanted - but he obviously didn't get it, as they haven't seen each other since an argument over dinner.
Admon Collier :: Carver's best friend. Refers to Natalie as 'Kneesocks' and continually makes sexual comments to her and all other women he meets.
Michael Landry :: Former co-star and awkward romantic entanglement, now full-time devoted boyfriend and quasi-father to Ophiera. Has reformed his cheating ways and is now openly honest and caring.
