last year i got a gameboy sp for my brother as a b-day/x-mas gift and it works great. i was considering getting one for myself too, since the only gameboy i have is a bulky old school one that's falling apart... sweatdrop but i later found out that the nintendo ds can play gameboy advance games also, and they just came out with the nintendo ds lite not too long ago...
so pretty much question is would i be better off just getting a nintendo ds rather than a gameboy sp? it costs a little bit more money, but i can play gameboy advance games too. does anyone have a ds? if so, how is it? i've never had a chance to play one, so any info you could provide of your experience with a ds (or sp) would be helpful. thanks! 3nodding
i was thinking about getting a psp before, but it's just too expensive. i think i'd be happier with a ds anyways. ninja

I'd say get an SP first. It's so nice and thin, too, I never leave home without my baby SP. DS is too bulky (and cheap feeling. it feels too light and cheap) for my picky tastes, but the SP is just perfect, good size and good weight. Mine's never let me down, and I got it when it came out. heart

i have and like both the ds and sp (i personally like the ds better...*covers sp's ears*)...though i must say psp is amazing (expensive as hell but amazing)...my brother (much to my jealousy and suprise) recently got a psp as a gift from my uncle that we never see... so ive gotten a chance to steal the psp away from him whenever i can and tis a beatiful thing...so i would go for the ds...but if you're feeling ambitious and or randomly get handed 250$ on teh street go and get you a psp hope whatever you get will make ya happy ^w^

I would get the DS, so you can also buy DS games for it Also. However, DS doesn't play game boy games any older then Gameboy Advance. So if you have Game boy, pocket, color, ect if I miss games that is not Gameboy Advance, then you can't play those games in Nintendo DS. To my knowledge, if I'm wrong, someone correct me.

To my knowledge, if I'm wrong, someone correct me. yes, that's correct. that's ok if i can't play the really old gameboy games... i don't even know where they are, so it doesn't matter. xd plus i don't have any other gameboy games besides the really old ones because i abandoned the gameboy a long time ago for other consoles. ninja
i'll probably just get a ds, but i might not get the lite one. one of my friends pointed out to me that the lite one is thinner, and feels like it could break... plus he said the buttons were smaller. i have small hands, but i'd probably prefer the regular one.
thanks for your inputs everyone. i appreciate it very much. 4laugh

I love the DS. It is a little clunky, but like you said, the DS lite just came out and it's smaller and easier to carry. Go with the DS.

I have both the Nintendo DS and the GBASP. They're both terrific, but I would say, go with the DS. It has truly revolutionized the gaming world, and I think you would really enjoy it. 3nodding heart

I don't have a DS. but it's better. just save up. it can play DS & Advance games. & the Wi-fi is awsome. u don't have to buy games to play other people on one game like Mario Kart. u just have to download it. I have done that. it is so kewl.
