Yes, another question out of curiousity from Amy. What notes are your highest and lowest that you can reach?

After five and a half years of classical lessons and a college degree, my range:
Usable: G3 to Bb5 (C4 is middle C, bottom of keyboard A is A0, followed by B0 and C1)
Extreme: D3 to C6, sometimes down to C#3 and up to D6 on a really good day. All these extremes are in exercises only and aren't very easily controlled, thus they're not performance quality - mostly I use them to strengthen my control on my usable range.
Note: I sing alto 2 in choir, and am classified as a mezzo-soprano. What kind of mezzo, I'm not sure - lyric or dramatic. Probably lyric, since I don't have a large voice, but I really don't know. But I AM a mezzo, for sure. :3

Let me see here.
I'm testing it now, really. So these are my un-warmed-up vocal range.
Eb3 to C6.
But that's just going up the scale- not actually in song. The highest I've ever had to go in a song would be B5
And I have a break in my range at F4, I can sing it, but I can't jump very far around it easily.

I sing bass/baritone/tenor... The highest I've gone is F at the top of the treble clef (not down the octave...) This was belting (properly though, not from chest) and not the C above that I can hit falsetto. As far as low (now I'm talking bassclef) The really really low B flat. As in the space right below two lines below the base cleff... I rarely sing in these registers... but I was Danny in Grease and had to hit those uber notes. And I was singing base three in a mens ensemble and had to hit the really really low one... it burned!

I am a baritone, but i should be a bass. I am either a Dramatic or Lyric. I can hit from middle C to Deep C, although Deep C is my fry note. my falsetto range is from about middle E to High G. My break is from D-E. So, all in all, just over three octaves. pretty good, no?

That's actually a little over 2 octaves... But still good! *gives thumbs up*

MusicalTheatreObsessed That's actually a little over 2 octaves... But still good! *gives thumbs up* Actually not, seeing as middle C is C4, and I can hit down to a C2, or Deep C. Plus about 1 1/2 octaves of falsetto... but yeah... I have about two octaves of comfortable range.

C2 up to C4 is two octaves. Then you said middle E through middle G in falsetto... That is only a couple notes higher. Therefore that is only 2 octaves and a couple notes. Unless you mean the top of the treble cleff E-G on octave written. However that would not be middle E-G...

The way you said you should be a base led me to beleive that you said middle E to middle G. I'm sorry are argued with you! However, if that is your falsetto range you should not be going anywhere near a base part. You should be a tenor one. To not use that high of a range is a complete waste. Trust me, the tenor section needs it.
