Rori

The habited moon of Naboo, Rori, once boasted considerable influence over the Republic for its rich supply of raw materials. However, after increased abuse of the planet's natural resources, Rori has completely seperated itself from the Republic. Due to this, a power vaccuum has formed on the planet, resulting is a massive Civil War. Inhabitants see everyone as either "friend" or "foe". No one is seen as neutral.

The climate of the planet is similar to that of Naboo, though with much larger swamps covering large chunks of the planet's surface. The remains of large spaceports, formerly very important trade routes, can be seen in the major cities on the planet. However, the Civil War spread from rural to urban warfare, leading to the gradual destruction of many cities, including the capital, Narmle.

The escape pod shot through space, eventually getting pulled towards Rori from the gravitaional forces. The capsual lit up the night's sky as it burnt through the atmospherem leaving a smokey trail behind it. Within a matter of seconds, the pod slammed into the ground, sliding along it at a tremdous speed, destroying all in its path. It eventually came to a stop, all battered and beaten, in the middle of a derelict city.

Sephiroth, slightly concussed by the bumpy landing, stumbled out of pod, burning his hand's on the glowing, heated metal casing, and falling to the ground. His head was pounding, even as he lay perfectly still. He just wanted to sleep it off. However, he could faintly hear voices yelling, obviously some distance away.

Hey! It landed over there!

Still very daized, Sephiroth stumbled to his feet, shaking his head vigorously in an attempt to clear it. Slowly and unsteadily, he turned around toward the direction of the voices, capturing his surrounding as he did so.

Massive buildings surrounded him, not a single one without severe structural damage. Giant stone slabs, mostly likely from the buildings, littered what used to be the road ways. It looked like exactly what it was, a warzone.

As the voices grew ever closer, Sephiroth yelled out for help.

Heeeeeey! Someone alive over here! A Jedi infact! Think you can help?!

Suddenly, the voices fell silent. For several seconds, Sephiroth did not what had happened. Eventually, the roar of a harsh breeze broke quiet. Through it, Sephiroth caught one of the people yelling again.

It's the Republic! They're back for the planet! Kill 'em lads!

There was suddenly a great cheer from the group of men, followed by the rapid click of blasters being prepared for fire. Sephiroth was certainly not in the ideal condition for a fight, but it looked like he had no choice.

He pulled his lightsaber hilt out from has jacket just has he heard three fired. He stood, prepared to deflect the shots. As he pressed the activation button, he was shocked to see, absolutely nothing.

What the......?!

An instant had flown by, along with two of the shots, one narrowly missing his right leg, and the other shooting past his left ear. The final shot slammed directly into Sephiroth right shoulder, spinning his body a half-turn just from the impact.

Argh!

Collapsing on the ground, Sephiroth's vision became blurred. He looked up at the dark sky, it only to be blocked by two human's and a rodian. Finally, Sephiroth blacked-out.

A short while later, Sephiroth woke, though still very daized from both the crash and the blaster bolt to him. As his vision focused, he remembered what happened. Slowly sitting up, a sharp pain shot down his right arm. Instinctively, Sephiroth's left arm raised in a flash, putting pressure on where the bolt had hit him, feeling a cotton pad in its place. As his head gradually cleared, he began to notice more about his surroundings.

He lay on a makeshift bed, topless, in a dimly lit, smoke filled room. As he looked to his left, he saw the three people who had shot at him earlier. They sat round a table, all smoking, their blasters still at their sides, chatting amoungst themselves. Sephiroth let out a small groan in an attempt to gain some attention from one or more of them.

Eventally, one of the humans stood up and approached Sephiroth, holding his blaster rifle in his hand.

Awake I see. How's the wound?

Taking a few mintues to register what had been said to him, his head still slightly foggy, Sephiroth began to speak in a husky voice.

It still hurts, as does my head. Where am I anyway? And who are you guys?

The man placed his blaster on the table before slowly removing Sephiroth's bandage. He winced slightly, clearly indicating that the wound was bad, before recovering it.

The dizziness would be from the spice we gave ya to numb the pain. We don't have much by the way of supplies, especially when it comes to bacta, so we make do. It'll go in a little while. In answer to your other questions, we are in splinter group fighting for Capitalist rule on Rori, against the Socialists. This is our hideout. Cosy, huh? Sorry we shot at you before. We thought you were a Republic soldier coming to get us. Having examined the crash site and seeing the Imperial markings in the pod, we assumed you must have been an escapee.

Having only taken in the important parts of what was just said to him, Sephiroth slowly sat up on the bed, the pain in his right shoulder still causing him considerable discomfort. Eventually he raised his head to speak to the man infront of him.

I need to get off this planet, quickly, if possible. Can you help me?

The man looked over his should at his other two allies, them both shaking their heads negatively at him. The man turned back to Sephiroth with a disappointed look on his face.

No can do. Barely any ship's land on Rori anymore. The Civil War has declared this planet as hazardous. Heck! We don't even get supply shipments anymore, as you can tell. You're only chance of getting off is if the war ends. Hey! I'm sure if you helped us, the war would be finished in no time flat! You are a Jedi after all!

Sephiroth had stopped listening half-way through. He knew there had to be some way. Someone with a ship, building a ship, anything!

Sephiroth had not moved in several mintues, so long infact that the man helping him had returned to the table to chat with his friends. Sephiroth was lost in deep thought. The only clear options to him was to either; stay and help these guys out while looking for a way off the planet, or waiting in the possibly vain hope that the Republic might come looking for him. He knew the latter was unreasonable, leaving only the one option. Takeing a deep breath, mostly the bare the pain he would recieve, Sephiroth stood up from the bed and slowly stumbled over the people round the table.

Okay guys. I'll help ya out for a while, but you have to help me look for a way off the planet at the same time in return, yeah?

The people turned to each other, nodded rapidly with excitement. one by one, they got up and shook Sephiroth's good hand, welcoming him to the group. The rodian was last, handing him a blaster pistol after the hand shake. Sephiroth looked at it curiously before one of the men spoke up.

Yeah, you're gonna need that if ya want any hope of surviving 'ere on Rori. Hope you can use it...

All the men chuckled at the same time, Sephiroth letting out a little smile too. He knew how to use a blaster, sort of, but it had been years since he had needed to and, what made matters worse, he had mever had any practice shooting left-handed. Ah well, he would have to just make do.

Seconds later, the men prepared the depart, They loaded themselves up with all kinds of weapons ranging from small daggers, blasters, grenades, even trip mines. They then put on protective gear, camouflaged to both the urban and rural terrains. They offered Sephiroth none of this. they simply helped him back into the clothes they found him in, a bright red jacket with a white shirt. One of the humans approached what seemed the be the exit, turning to everyone.

Ready?

Sephiroth did not want the delay the group by asking where they were going, he just nodded along with everyone else.

Sephiroth assumed this was just some kind of normal routine, checking the area and whatnot, or it may have been then leaving to speak with someone much higher in the command chain. He could not be sure. All he could say for certain was that he did not want to take sides in the Civil War, but he had to, otherwise he may lose all hope of escape.

The man beside the door, having checked everyone was ready to go, flung the door open, only to be shocked as what he saw on the other side. Forming three rows of ten, armoured with matching battle gear, stood a very disciplined army. Instantly, Sephiroth knew this is who they were fighting. The goldern-clad troops raised their blasters, aiming directly for the doorway in which Sephiroth and the rabble of men stood.

Instinctively, they all dived for cover as a volley of shots was fired their way. Sephiroth was able to find refuge behind a large pile of rubble, as did the two humans, just scattered around the street. However, the rodian was not lucky enough to escape. His body was pelted with shot after shot, until he eventually collapsed on the ground, dead.

Sephiroth could hear one of the men mourning the death of the rodian, he cries of pain much louder than that of the continuous blaster shots.

Reed! No!

From where he was hiding, Sephiroth was completely blind as to where the troops where positioned. As he was preparing himself to leap out, the blaster fire suddenly fell silent. Halting his attacking, Sephiroth began to listen out for anything significant. There was nothing to be heard. It seemed very strange. The troops knew three men were still out here, why they not doing anything about? Sephiroth's train of thought was quickly interputed by the gentle "ping" of a small metal object hitting stone.

It was a thermal detenator being tossed by the troops, landing directly next to the two covering men. Sephiroth had no clue what it was until he heard the loud explosion, followed by a blasting heat wave and shreds of what was left of the men. Now Sephiroth was all alone against the thirty troops.

Sephiroth was completely trapped, with only the rubble he was hiding behind as protection. He could hear footsteps approaching him, the crunching of rocks under each step. They were moving round the side of the rubble to the left of Sephiroth. Pressing himself as close up as he could, reducing his potetion target size, he pointed the gun out, ready to shoot the split second anyone appeared.

The suspence grew, the footsteps drawing ever closer. Finally, the shine from the goldern armour caught Sephiroth's eye, the trigger being squeezed, firing a single blaster bolt. There was a bright flash, followed by the lone troop flying back through the air from the force of the bolt. The corpse landed of the ground, immediately followed by continuous shots fired towards the rubble from the remaining troops.

One down...

His situation had not improved. Though he had been able to slightly reduce their numbers, they were now in a safe position, gradually wearing Sephiroth's only protection with their blaster bolts.

Fina Xanth

The Raptor lowered down into the atmosphere, and then toward the ground. Fina stood ready at the entrance of the ship, waiting for the ramp to lower... Patience was part of their code, but there was no time to waste in this case. They had to get him back quickly....

Shortly after entering the planet, the ship sped to Sephiroths location... The ship hovering over the area where he was and starting to lower to land. Fina moved her hand and used the force to trigger the mechanics to lower the ramp, and watched it lower...

Jami headed off of the ramp of Fina's ship and breathed in a long, slow breath of the swampy air. He had usually tried to avoid this planet due to the political atmosphere: there wasn't one. He could sense Sephiroth's presence easily, since it was so powerful. He had felt a hint of it in orbit, but down here it was as obvious as the stars. He turned to Fina and cocked an eyebrow. "Ready?"

The Furyan hovered next to the Raptor where it was and ran to the back to where the small turrents where

"R4! Take over for me!"

R4 dug into the computer and kept it afloat. In case and more soldiers came, Zeth would take care of them with the guns on his ship

Fina smirked at Jami, then ran off of the ramp, both blue lightsabers in hand, blue blades ignited and ready. She was prepared to start deflecting shots if she needed to, but knew that this many soldiers were too many. She didn't even have to count how many... She charged straight toward them, a few of the soldiers turning and firing. She brought one blade up at eye level, deflecting the shot straight back... It hit the soldiers gun, disabling it. Another few she deflected with the saber in her right hand...

Getting near enough to start actually using her sabers, she started by merely going for headshots. The soldiers were pretty stunned, or atleast the few that were shooting, and especially the disarmed one. She used the right saber to slice one in half, the other to remove the disarmed ones head, and then used a force push on one of the other troops to start a sort of domino effect... or atleast cause some confusion...

Jami stared after the woman and shook his head. "And I thought that the ideals of the Jedi were to be calm and find a way other than fighting to solve problems...." He flipped on the teal blade of his lightsaber and adopted his Soresu techniques as the bolts started to fly at him. He used the Force to guide his saber, relying on the defensive moves of his favorite style to aid him in keeping him from harm. He advanced slowly and finally began to slice through weapons, just as he had the first time he used a saber. He could feel frustration emenating from the men, feel their desire to just see them fall. Time and again Jami denied them that wish.

Zeth saw the soldiers comming and Fina slash at them using her saber skills. He would eventually see Jami come with his skills as well, but they needed help from unexpected places. He sat back and watched, until he saw that it was starting to get difficult, no matter how skilled the two were. He fired up the turrents and begins to make a path for Fina to run to Sephiroth. The blaster bolts knocked many soldiers out of the way, making a clear enough path for a few moments.

"Fina! Jami! Go!"

Zeth remained in the blaster and began blasting more and more soldiers, trying to buy the two of them time to go and find Sephiroth before the turrent ran out of energy

The blaster fire towards Sephiroth's cover gradually reduced, the humming of lightsabers overwhelming all other noises around. Confused, but willing to take the opportunity, Sephiroth poked his head read the side of his protective rubble, well, what was left anyway.

There she was. Fina, slicing up many of the troops that had just been firing on Sephiroth. Knowing the situation was now more balanced, Sephiroth stood up, his right arm still badly injured, raising his blaster and fired a volley shots towards various men, several of them connecting, leaving them dead. The troop's numbers were rapidly thinning, leaving Sephiroth feeling very relieved that he'd soon be off the planet.

Jami gave no indication that he heard Zeth, but he began to run through the ranks, allowing the Force to give him quick flashes so that he could deflect the bolts even when the men surrounded him and pelted him with gunfire. He yelled at Fina that they should go, and that Zeth had it under control. He kept moving through the ranks, not worrying about the blaster bolts since he had the Force to aid him. He sliced through rifles like butter, the job terribly easy. Gradually he noticed that the volley of shots was decreasing in number, and the powerful presence was nearer.

Fina heard the voice and turned her head for a moment, then jumped a little bit back from the crowd. She didn't want to get ventilated either. A moment later, shots were fired from another direction, but not at any of the Jedi. She looked in Sephiroths direction and gave a smile. She wondered for a moment why he wasn't using his lightsaber, but figured that maybe it was taken from him, and he was unable to get it back...

In either case, there was a clear path made for her, so she used the time to get to him, and ran towards him, deactivating the lightsaber in her left hand and tossing it to him. She made it by his side and turned to face the soldiers again, ready to deflect more blaster bolts. Talking would have to come later, right now they had to stay focused... Even if there were fewer soldiers by the moment...
